01:00Hi, Mil, mate. Police. Drug squad.
01:03Have you got any drugs on you at all?
01:05I'd just like to have a look through your pockets.
01:07You're going to the festival, are you?
01:09I'll have a look through.
01:17You get spun quite a lot, do you?
01:18Pardon?
01:19You get turned over quite a lot, do you?
01:20No, this is the first time.
01:21Is it? Oh, well.
01:22It's a new experience for you.
01:23Enjoying it, like, you know.
01:32Come on, Mil, mate.
01:34Police. Drug squad.
01:36I'd like to search you, OK?
01:37Just come over here, if you would.
01:40Keep your hands where I can see them, please.
01:42Drop your bag off.
01:43You got some mates with you, have you?
01:44Yeah.
01:45Can I just touch it? Hold on.
01:46Willie!
01:48Hold on a minute.
01:51I think if he hangs on, he'll get searched as well.
01:54We're all clean.
01:55You're all clean, are you?
01:56Right, let's start then, ladies and gentlemen.
01:58Good morning.
01:59Welcome to Reading.
02:01I'm just going to explain what the Pop Festival is all about
02:03for those of you who have never been here before.
02:07It's a jazz, blues and rock festival
02:08and it's organised by the National Jazz Federation
02:11and it's in progress from now until midnight on Sunday.
02:15Now, it's anticipated we'll have about 30,000 people here
02:18and you will also appreciate there's a lot of people
02:20of opposing groups coming here
02:22with whom we, the police, have got a deal.
02:25Now, the majority of those attending the festival
02:28are perfectly well-behaved, respectable young people
02:34and their future attitude towards law and order
02:39may be very much influenced by your actions.
02:43Now, I want to draw your attention to paragraph 18 to 22.
02:47This deals with drug offences.
02:50Now, if you look at paragraph 20, that reminds you of your powers.
02:59I can tell you the drug squad and the CID are present
03:03but let's make it very clear
03:05we're certainly not looking for a cricket score.
03:07This is the policy. We're not in a league.
03:12What we want to concentrate is suppliers and dealers.
03:17We're not looking for full-scale searches.
03:20We should try harder to just detect the suppliers, spot them
03:26and inform, if you see anything like that, inform the drug squad
03:29and let them take it on.
03:32For those of you in or surrounding the actual festival ground
03:37there is a Samaritan's Hospital release tent.
03:42Don't stay too close to these places.
03:44We don't want a police presence near there.
03:46Now, some bad stuff, bad drug is often sold, a bad mix and so forth
03:52and it's most important that when these people become ill
03:56that we shouldn't inhibit them from going for help.
04:00Now, is that clearly understood?
04:02So keep away from those places, if you will.
04:05The success of this operation depends on you.
04:08The way you behave today will set the temperature for the whole festival.
04:31Why don't you just go away?
04:33Pretend you never saw us and go on your way.
04:35Huh?
04:39Again?
04:41Ah, well, no, not that.
04:43It's because I had different ideas on retribution and all that.
04:47So, I guess I've just got to get on with it.
04:49I'll see you later.
04:51We'll see you later.

06:36I've won. I've won.
06:40Chaotic. They're obviously not going to mow until we can get more assistance to do something
07:09about it, I've won.
07:40It's terrible. It's all good here, we'll clear off.
07:49They will bloody go. No they won't go. They will.
08:04There should be a few more coming, we'll get a bit more mob out here and then we'll get them out the road.
08:09There should be a few more coming, there's a bit of a mistake with the location.
08:17Yeah we'll try, but as I say we're completely outnumbered, there's very little we can do at present.
08:39Roll.
08:41Let's get into that lot there and shift it round through there, okay?
09:12Come on. Come on lads, move it.
09:22Who are you saying? I'm Maloney!
09:25I'm Maloney, Mum.
09:27Arrest me! Arrest me!
09:32I didn't do nothing. I didn't do nothing.
09:37I didn't do nothing.
09:42Why didn't you shift along? Come on then boys, on you go. Shift on then.
09:49We're just waiting for someone. Where is he? I don't know, he's got lost in the crowd.
09:54How's he going to find you then? Easy, right under the door.
09:57Come and stand on the corner.
09:59Well what's the difference between standing on the corner and standing here? No difference at all, is there?
10:03We want to clear the street, alright?
10:05Well what do you want to clear the street for?
10:07Because there's been a lot of trouble in here, now shift.
10:08There's been no trouble at all.
10:10There hasn't.
10:12Listen lad, I said don't push.
10:14I ain't pushing you.
10:16Don't.
10:18I'm waiting for one of the mates.
10:20Obstructing what?
10:22I'm waiting for one of the mates and we don't want to get split up.
10:24You've got two choices. You either move on or you're going to get...
10:26No choice or a dog's choice.
10:28Well, you've got two choices.
10:30No choice or a dog's choice.
10:32Move over there. Move over there.
10:34What's the difference of there or here? We said we'd meet somewhere.
10:36We're going to clear the street, alright?
10:38Come on, man.
10:40Come on.
10:44What's the scope?
10:46Clear the street.
10:48No one's causing any...
10:50Go away.
10:52No aggro.
10:54So what's the scope?
10:56Get going. Shift off the street.
10:58Come on.
11:03I'm loading, Charles.
11:05I'm telling you, lad.
11:06It's not aggravation, is it?
11:08You just keep your hands down.
11:10Because if I start using my hands, it's barley.
11:12Yeah, alright. Come on.
11:14I know that.
11:16I'm scared. Come on.
11:18I'm not telling you...
11:20It's nothing to do with you being scared or not.
11:22You know, you're on that side and we're on this side.
11:24So that's it.
11:26We're clearing the street now. Come on.
11:28Keep walking.
11:30Just keep walking.
11:32Come on, you. Come on.
11:34See?
11:36There we go.
11:38There we go.
11:58Excuse me.
12:00Yes?
12:01I've got a couple of weedy ones on the bottom. Four.
12:04OK.
12:06By the carriage.
12:08Whereabouts?
12:10Straight down the back.
12:16Stand up. Stand up.
12:18Don't drop anything.
12:20Put your hand up.
12:22What's going on now?
12:24Just stand there.
12:26You swallowed it, I suppose.
12:28I didn't have anything.
12:29I didn't have anything, honestly.
12:31I was just talking to these people.
12:33I had a conversation with them, too.
12:38I'm just into beer, that's all.
12:40Yeah.
12:42That was nothing.
12:46One-five.
12:48One-five. Good.
12:50Yeah, early turn.
12:52One for controlled substance.
12:54Is there any transport available?
12:56Is she going to come in for a strip search?
12:57Is that your handbag?
12:59Yeah.
13:01Pick your handbag up.
13:03Is that your bag there?
13:05Yes.
13:07All right.
13:09Can I not finish my drink?
13:11No. You're under arrest, that's why.
13:13Is that yours?
13:15Sure.
13:17Hi there.
13:19Can I get your bag?
13:21Keep an eye on her.
13:29Have you got a cigarette?
13:31No.
13:33Can I buy some cigarettes, please?
13:35I've been shopping.
13:37What, you're shopping, eh?
13:39I haven't done anything.
13:40Two, three, four.
13:44Leave it till you're done.
13:46I want to see my handbag.
13:48You picked everything up yourself.
13:50Have you got any cigarettes?
13:53Have you got any cigarettes, anybody?
13:55They won't give you any, love.
13:59Yeah, please. I haven't got any.
14:01Don't let me buy any.
14:03He can't refuse to have me.
14:07Can you come down to the station
14:08and I'll give you a minute?
14:10I haven't done anything wrong.
15:04You've just lost one of your mates.
15:06Yeah, she's wrong.
15:08Where is she now?
15:10Well, on this campsite,
15:12to lose people for an hour is not unusual.
15:14Well, I know. We're all worried about her.
15:16Well, I know, on that side.
15:18Where was she when you lost her?
15:20I thought she was with us.
15:38I thought she was with us.
16:08It's got one of these tickets inside.
16:14I've lost my leather jacket.
16:16You've lost it?
16:18Yeah, it's got two...
16:20Paying in books?
16:22Well, pay in, take out, yeah.
16:24You mean a cheque book?
16:26Yeah, a cheque book, yeah.
16:28It's a lot easier.
16:30You mean one paying in book and one cheque book?
16:32Yeah, put it that way, yeah.
16:35God.
16:36He's got his money, his beer, his T-shirt and his watch.
16:38His watch.
16:40But he wants to make his girlfriend
16:42so he can get the rest of his clothes, you know.
16:44I see, which she has.
16:46Which she has, yes.
16:48OK, would you come around to the window there?
16:50Yeah, OK.
16:52They are definitely in the arena, aren't they?
16:54They are. He left them in the middle of the arena.
16:56And on his way back he got beaten up by Hell's Angels,
16:58which I should say again,
17:00shouldn't be allowed into festivals.
17:02Shut up.
17:03Sorry.
17:04They are pathetic creatures.
17:06Shut up.
17:08Sorry.
17:10You'll know that the message has been put over
17:12and you should expect them to come back to us.
17:14Thanks very much.
17:16Cheers, thanks.
17:18Thanks a lot.
17:20Thanks very much, that's very nice.
17:22Thanks.
17:34Cheers.
17:52Have you had a busy time?
17:54No, it's very good, very good.
17:56Fairly quiet.
17:58It's a good crowd, good crowd.
18:00We've had a bit of can-throwing and a few fights.
18:01Six digits in 30 minutes at one time.
18:03A good casualty would get 150 in a day.
18:07Well, you imagine what 1,300 extra ones going through.
18:10They're not particularly serious,
18:12but they're all tired, they're dirty,
18:17some of them are drunk,
18:19some of them have had other things,
18:21all dehydrated.
18:23And the problem is, they have to document it.
18:47They like the label.
18:50Well, because it's a fucking German master, so what?
18:53Because he said so.
18:55It's their premises, they'd like you to leave, all right?
18:57I'm going.
18:59Well done, mate. You do it now.
19:01To your boys.
19:03Eh?
19:05That's all right, yeah.
19:07Well done.
19:09Well, there you go.
19:12Excuse me, I'm sorry.
19:14He's all right.
19:16We're the best.
19:21Anyway, finish it up, that's all.
19:23I've still got 11.
19:25You're on till 1, aren't you?
19:27I think it's half past 1.
19:29I'm not sure. I'll have to have a look.
19:31Until it cools down, that's all.
19:33Just see what you've got in your pockets, please.
19:35Let's just put this down a minute.
19:37Have some information.
19:39If you'd just stand up there and get a swan while I have a minute.
19:41OK?
19:43If you'd just put your hands up in the air, please, a minute.
19:45OK?
19:47Just put your hands there. OK?
19:49What are we doing, just having a conversation?
19:51Yeah.
19:52Yeah, there's no aggravation,
19:54but we've had some information
19:56that possibly you're in possession of drugs
19:58and you looked a little bit suspicious there.
20:00OK?
20:02So we're just checking to make sure.
20:04Yeah, that's OK.
20:06Have you got any contact?
20:08No.
20:10What is it?
20:12Eh?
20:14Vegetable matter.
20:16You're under arrest for being in possession of drugs.
20:18You understand?
20:20What is it?
20:22Can you tell me? You're in your pockets, why?
20:24Eh?
20:26No, keep going.
20:28I bought some earrings.
20:30Eh?
20:32I bought some earrings at the fair.
20:34Yeah, what's it?
20:36Jesus Christ.
20:38They're in your pocket, mate.
20:40Where did you get it from?
20:42Eh?
20:44I don't know.
20:46I've been drinking a lot tonight.
20:48Yeah, I know. It looks like drugs to me.
20:50What are you doing with this?
20:52I don't know.
20:54Think about it.
20:56You'd better come with us.
20:58You're under arrest for possession of drugs.
21:00You're not obliged to do anything unless you wish to do so.
21:02If you do so, we'll take you home.
21:04Eh, what is it?
21:06I'm trying to flog this.
21:08Eh?
21:10You don't look like a sensible lad.
21:12I don't know.
21:14Jesus Christ.
21:16You're now in a state of shock, are you?
21:18Pardon?
21:20You're now in a state of shock, are you?
21:22Just keep your legs still.
21:29Can you put it on with your shirt?
21:32Oh, what am I doing?
21:34Have you got any matches, then?
21:36Pardon?
21:37Can you put it on with this?
21:39I've got it.
21:41Undisappear, yeah?
21:43You can turn round, love.
21:45OK, if you come over this way.
21:47Oh, she's got a sign there.
21:49Would you like a sign here?
21:50Sign your name there.
21:52That's you.
21:54You understand why you've been brought into the police station, don't you?
21:58Thank you very much.
22:00Oh, just a minute.
22:02You've got to take your file with you.
22:07That's nothing compared to that.
22:09They've got the big AIDS here.
22:11I don't know what I've got in here.
22:14She hasn't been searched.
22:16All right.
22:18What are you having there?
22:20Come over here.
22:40That's LSD.
22:42That's white star LSD.
22:46Put it in that bag there.
23:09That's a hell of a lot of LSD there.
23:11It is LSD.
23:16How much money value there, then?
23:17That is LSD.
23:18That's £2.50 each.
23:20£2.50 each?
23:21Yes.
23:22It looks like LSD.
23:24Last year we were getting the red star,
23:26which is exactly the same size as that,
23:28which came from Holland, so we believe.
23:34Yeah, she'll have to be interviewed.
23:36Yeah.
23:38Them two we kept in and we spoke to,
23:40but matey boy who had here,
23:42he was just buying what he was doing.
23:44Yeah, well, he looks like it, doesn't he?
23:45Yeah.
23:46Very good.
23:48Thank you very much, Dick.
23:50Oh, the progression's pissed me in the street now.
23:52She's got a few thousand pounds worth of stuff,
23:54don't she?
23:55Yeah, it's that stuff you've got there, isn't it?
23:57Yeah.
24:03Always got the wrong people here.
24:06When you had a look at the gear,
24:07what did you think it was?
24:08I had no idea,
24:10to be honest.
24:12Well, you must have had a look at it.
24:13I did have a look at it, yeah.
24:14Well, you know what cannabis is, don't you?
24:16Yeah.
24:17Well, is that what you thought it was?
24:18Well, I've never seen that type before.
24:21So you thought it might be cannabis,
24:22but you didn't know...
24:23I thought it was some sort of glass.
24:24It was a little bit different from what you'd seen before.
24:28And how much were they wanting for it?
24:33£10 a quarter or something like that, I think.
24:36They mentioned that figure to you, did they?
24:37Mm-hmm.
24:40And is that what you paid?
24:42No, I didn't pay anything.
24:44Well, you had the stuff in your possession
24:45when you were arrested.
24:46Yeah.
24:47Well, I turned around and the police were there
24:48and I just put it straight in my pocket.
24:50So they gave it to you
24:51and you was just about to give them the money, weren't you?
24:53Well, I was examining it, yes.
24:54Yeah.
24:56But they'd already mentioned that
24:58they wanted £10 for it.
25:00Mm-hmm.
25:01And before you could give them the money,
25:02you were nicked.
25:03Yeah.
25:04Fair enough.
25:07Do you want to make a statement?
25:10Not really, I don't think.
25:12Well, what we're saying is
25:13it's not a statement against you
25:15for what you had on your possession.
25:17It's a statement with regard to the circumstances of the sale
25:21that you were going to buy the stuff
25:23in respect of the other people.
25:25It's a witness statement.
25:27Against them?
25:28Yeah.
25:31How would I come out on that?
25:33Sorry?
25:34How would I sort of come out on that?
25:36Well, the way it would come out is that
25:40obviously if the stuff is
25:41is cannabis
25:43that you had in your possession,
25:45then there'll have to be a possession charge.
25:47But obviously as far as they're concerned,
25:49they're supplying the stuff,
25:51which is a little bit more serious.
25:52Mm-hmm.
25:53And you're our witness as far as they're concerned
25:56for the supply and charge.
26:03So I'd have to come to court
26:06to witness against him?
26:08Not effectively guilty.
26:09Not effectively guilty,
26:11which I just think, you know,
26:13it's a fair assessment.
26:16So you just want a full statement of...
26:18Just the circumstances of what you had in your possession,
26:21how it came into your possession,
26:23and what you were going to do.
26:25The offer.
26:26You're right.
26:27Okay.
26:28So you were walking on your way towards the festival site.
26:32No, walking away.
26:34Walking away from the festival site
26:36when you were approached by...
26:37On a bloke.
26:39A bloke and a woman.
26:41Yeah.
26:42Okay, we'll get that in first of all.
26:44Are you Miss Cook?
26:46Yeah.
26:47What's your nearest nick?
26:49What area of London is Elephant and Castle?
26:52SE1.
26:53SE1.
26:54I think there's about...
26:56five or six hundred.
27:03Five,
27:05one pound,
27:06two pound, three pound.
27:16Look at these.
27:24It's the same as last year, isn't it?
27:25But a different colour.
27:27I don't know.
27:28I don't know.
27:29What colour is this in there as well?
27:30It's cannabis as well.
27:31Two pound, fifty each.
27:32Who's Nick there?
27:34Corporate, Adam.
27:35Yeah, who is it?
27:36The boat was herself.
27:37Girl.
27:39Oh, she's got to be separated, hasn't she?
27:41She'll have to separate.
27:42Sorry?
27:43She'll have to get her out.
27:44That's a lot of gear in there.
27:47That is acid.
27:52Gear has been, yeah.
27:54Oh, really?
27:57Everything off?
27:59No, the lock.
28:00Everything off?
28:01Everything.
28:02Take it back in?
28:03Everything off.
28:04Just my collar.
28:13Noah got a bloke with her
28:14and she was with another fella
28:16who they were possibly selling to.
28:18I'm going to tell you now
28:20that if you are keen enough to belong,
28:23you're going to be here probably all over the pop festival,
28:25and you might have paid a lot of money to go to the pop festival,
28:28but you'll sit here for about 72 hours
28:30waiting for this to come up.
28:33You are not known by the lady that lives at that address.
28:37Hey.
28:38Tell me what you've got to say to that.
28:41Because I think you're kidding me.
28:43I've been a policeman a long time.
28:45I'm not kidding you,
28:46it's just that she doesn't know me by that name.
28:48No, well, what name does she know you by then?
28:50Sally, I told you.
28:51Sally what?
28:53Yeah.
28:54I think you're going to have to sit in there a long time.
28:57Go over there with the sergeant.
29:03Sit down somewhere.
29:06There you go.
29:07Right.
29:09Is the address you've given the correct one?
29:11Yes.
29:12Or are you giving us a lot of old spiel?
29:14No, it's the correct address.
29:15We're very busy people.
29:16I know, but it's the correct address.
29:18Are you sure?
29:19Yeah.
29:20Doug.
29:22Mrs Shaw is the lady who lives there,
29:24and she's lived there for three years.
29:26I know she's Mrs Shaw.
29:27And she says that she knows no Patricia Cook.
29:31Yeah.
29:32The obvious reaction from anyone,
29:33if you go to her name and ask her the name of Cook,
29:35she's going to say, well, I know her Sally Cook.
29:37Yeah.
29:38But we didn't even get that.
29:39Nothing.
29:40She is unknown at that address.
29:42You're giving us a lot of comm, aren't you?
29:43No, I don't.
29:45Well, you've given this address.
29:47Mrs Shaw doesn't know you.
29:49She says she doesn't know me.
29:50Well, she says she doesn't, so where does that leave us?
29:52She knows me as Sally, that's why.
29:54Sally.
29:55Well, she would have said, I know her Sally, wouldn't she?
29:57Obvious.
29:58Why?
29:59If someone came to your door and said,
30:01Yeah, but the surname Cook.
30:02I'd say, no, I've got a Jenny Cook lives here.
30:05Yeah, I mean, she's going to say, well, I don't know.
30:07It's a natural reaction.
30:08The situation would have been explained to her, wouldn't it?
30:11By the police.
30:14Have you been to Ready Pot Festival before?
30:16No.
30:17Never?
30:18Well, you see, the point is, as far as we're concerned,
30:21we make the enquiries.
30:23If you don't add up, you know, who you are,
30:26where you live and all the rest of it,
30:27you're going to stay here, so you can please yourself.
30:29Simple as that.
30:30She knows me as Sally Wilson.
30:32Sally Wilson.
30:33Ah, now we're getting somewhere, aren't we?
30:35Ah, ah, ah.
30:36So we'll start from the beginning, and let's have...
30:38Let's begin.
30:39You want a pen?
30:40Yeah.
30:42You got one?
30:43Yeah.
30:45Right.
30:46Start again, then.
30:47Sally Wilson, is it?
30:50What was the nonsense for, then?
30:52Because I didn't...
30:53I don't know.
30:54I didn't want her to know.
30:55You don't want to know that you're in police custody, right?
30:58Simple as that.
31:00OK, Doug.
31:01Right.
31:02Try again.
31:03Try again?
31:04You want to amend that sheet?
31:06Yeah.
31:07Well, let's check it out first.
31:09We'll be writing it all over, doesn't it?
31:11Yeah, we'll clip it together for the time being, then.
31:14OK, right.
31:15Is she with you?
31:17All right.
31:18So if you go with this young lady,
31:20and she'll show you round,
31:22whilst we check the Sally Wilson bit.
31:26We'll hope that you're not kidding again.
31:32What's the score?
31:33So, like, the sort of...
31:34Well, as I understand it,
31:36she's got a big bag in her coat pocket,
31:39which appears on the face of it possibly to be acid.
31:43She's got something like about 10,000 on the look of it.
31:46Many of that?
31:47Yeah.
31:48So this is big loose stuff here, isn't it?
31:50This is big stuff.
31:51So we can't really afford to fail at our chances.
31:54At the moment, we've got a halt.
31:56They're not doing anything else on that at all,
31:58as far as checking goes.
31:59So what are you going to do, talk to her?
32:01Well, we'll see that I'll be initially interviewed
32:03to see what she's going to say anyway.
32:05Yeah.
32:06Which I'll have to do tonight.
32:07Yeah.
32:08And then she'll stay in there till the morning.
32:10Yeah.
32:11And then we'll have a good bash at it in terms of addresses.
32:13You don't want...
32:14You don't want this address checked, or what?
32:17Not really, no.
32:18You see, you want to leave it at that,
32:20cos they've been round there now.
32:22Yeah, we know they've been to that address.
32:23Yeah.
32:24But that might not be the correct address.
32:25So you want to leave it at that?
32:27Yeah.
32:28So we'll leave it as it is, go round the system,
32:30and scrub it until you're a bit more happy.
32:33Yeah.
32:34OK?
32:35All right.
32:36Hey, Doug.
32:42Both are suspected of being in possession of drugs.
32:46Let's see what that is.
32:49RM2...
32:52for the polythene bag containing the crystals and the handbag.
33:04And RM3 for the matchbox containing the red crystals.
33:11That's it.
33:16That is it.
33:21Well, I'll tell you what, I can get to from in there.
33:26Have you seen it?
33:27Well, I haven't, no.
33:28Well, you look at it.
33:29Where is it?
33:30I don't know.
33:31But there's part of it there.
33:32You have a look at the stuff in there.
33:33I mean, it's the same as that stuff in there,
33:35only it's been dyed.
33:38Can you look at the gear in there?
33:40He's got a matchbox on there.
33:42Give it a look at the matchbox.
33:50It's not redstone.
33:51No.
33:52But it's a good imitation.
33:53Yeah, well, it is if it's 9 o'clock at night on a festival site.
34:02Tell you what, they thought it was.
34:04You know, from the way they reacted once we grabbed them.
34:07They think it's the real stuff, or she does,
34:09the girl who does the carrying.
34:11It might be.
34:12Yeah, it might be.
34:13But if it is, you've got several thousand pounds worth of gear there.
34:24If they've got all that amount of stuff, you see,
34:26it's unlikely they've unloaded any.
34:28Yeah, that's true.
34:29At this stage, you see.
34:30That's true.
34:33But if that is acid, then that is an awful lot of gear.
34:36An awful lot.
34:37So, you know, that's what's creating the concern from everybody.
34:40Well, if we can get the answer back by 10 o'clock tomorrow morning,
34:43we'll know which way we're going, then, shan't we?
34:45That's right.
34:46That's still right.
34:51It's ridiculous, isn't it?
34:52But, you know, they're just starting.
34:54Nick took the right time, obviously.
34:57Well, yeah.
34:58Good Nick.
34:59Very good Nick.
35:00I mean, regardless of whether it's good gear or not,
35:02it's a very good Nick.
35:04It's a very good Nick.
35:05I mean, potentially, I mean, it's difficult to say,
35:08but bearing in mind that I've had 1,000 acid tabs in my hand before
35:12and you've never been able to go like that with them.
35:15Well, you've got to...
35:16I imagine somewhere in the region about 10,000.
35:20So they normally go up about £2.50 apiece.
35:23So you're talking about £15,000?
35:25You're talking a lot of money.
35:27Well, no, it's about £25,000.
35:29Yeah.
35:30£25,000 a bit.
35:31So...
35:33Yeah.
35:34So, obviously, it's not something that we can possibly leave up here.
35:37I've got two other lads off the lake, two on the team.
35:41They'll have to be nine o'clock as well tomorrow
35:43because they've also got another dealer in with some gear
35:45that we don't know whether it's cannabis or whether it's henna or whatever.
35:49So we'll have that situation to deal with as well tomorrow.
35:52But we're all right cover-wise throughout the day still?
35:54Oh, yeah, yeah.
35:56It's been a long, hard day.
35:58It really is.
36:00Oh, cream cracker.
36:02See the admin.
36:04What's happening over there?
36:05Well, I don't know.
36:06Where's he?
36:07You can call him.
36:08Let's just sort out what's available.
36:11I'll see what I can do, OK?
36:13You're very kind.
36:14It won't matter.
36:15It's a good meal, dear.
36:49We're here!
36:51We're here!
36:53We're here!
36:54There we are!
36:55We're here!
37:00Can I tell him?
37:05Are you happy enough to point him out to us?
37:07If that's what you want to.
37:09From a distance, maybe.
37:10Well, from an evidential point of view.
37:12We've got to have you point him out to us.
37:14You can't just wade in and say, look, mate...
37:16I don't want to go in there.
37:30We're down on arrests.
37:32Hospital are down on admissions.
37:34All sorts of reasons for it, I suspect.
37:36We can say that because we've got fewer policemen,
37:39therefore there are fewer arrests.
37:41And you can read all sorts of significances into that.
37:44Equally, of course, we can say that as Harold Pendleton
37:47controls the numbers attending, by the bill he puts on,
37:50I suspect he can control the type of attenders.
37:53But it's an encouraging sign.
37:56Only one thing I've seen,
37:58and Roger and I spoke about it last night,
38:01there was an incident last night
38:03when at least ten vehicles all went hammering along
38:06Richfield Avenue, blue lamps going, sirens blaring
38:09at a very fast rate, going towards Cow Lane.
38:12And when I got back to the command vehicle,
38:15they said it's a ten-nine,
38:17as if that was a complete justification.
38:20It was a ten-nine.
38:22Whether it was justified or not is another matter.
38:25But the fact remains that a lot of policemen
38:28went hammering along Richfield Avenue towards Cow Lane,
38:31didn't know where they were going or why they were going there,
38:34and in fact were going in entirely the opposite direction.
38:37The incident had occurred at the Cow Lane end,
38:40but the two offenders concerned
38:42had run off towards Cavish and Bridge.
38:44And we were lucky, I think,
38:46that we didn't have to deal with that.
38:48We were lucky, I think, that we didn't have a real incident going
38:51at the speed of sound.
38:53The other thing that happened was
38:55that the discipline on the air completely broke down.
38:57Everyone was shouting and bawling on the air, garbled messages,
39:00nobody knew what was happening,
39:02and, as I say, the only justification I could get was,
39:05it's a ten-nine, sir.
39:07That's the court list this morning, 40 of them, sir.
39:10Have we got, are we likely to get soon
39:13about this LSD job last night?
39:15That will be at least an hour, sir.
39:19I'd like to know as soon as...
39:21I think we're all fairly certain it is LSD,
39:24but it's nice to know.
39:27Well, when I rang the lab,
39:29they said the stuff's now being checked and provided
39:32and there's nothing else in it which would inhibit the analysis.
39:35An hour at the earliest.
39:45WHIRRING
40:16CLOCK TICKS
40:26Well, you know, obviously, you just have to sit tight
40:29until the phone rings. Well, that's it, yeah.
40:31It's about an hour, so it should be in shortly.
40:33She said it's rubbish, but then she said there's some acid in it.
40:36So, you know, whether one or two tabs have got some on it
40:40or whether the whole lot have just got a tiny little bit on them,
40:43you just don't know.
40:48Well, as I was saying earlier on, you know,
40:50even if it's only got a little bit of acid in it,
40:53you've got to... That's the end of it, innit?
40:55You know, as far as she's concerned.
40:57If she goes to court with a bloody great pile of stuff like that
41:00and it's all got acid in it, no problem.
41:02That's the end of it, innit? End of story.
41:05But obviously, if it's, you know, if it is good stuff,
41:08then there's a lot more work to be done.
41:11Don't frighten me, all right? Eh? Don't frighten me.
41:14Good morning to you. Graham again at the lab.
41:16Right, I can give you part result on the...
41:19I'll give you the reference.
41:21It's D1047 of 80.
41:241047, which is Patricia Cook.
41:28OK, right. Right.
41:30RM2...
41:33..which is the polythene bag.
41:36That's negative.
41:39And RH3...
41:41RM3 is also negative.
41:46It leaves us with some other of the stars,
41:50which are probably going to be the same,
41:52but we're running checks on those.
41:54And it also leaves us with the vegetable matter,
41:56which is still yet to be completed.
41:59OK. Fine. Bye.
42:09Where are your people who are dealing with corn?
42:12This is a big problem that we've got.
42:14That's Tony Byrne, I think. Yeah.
42:16Where is he? He was over there.
42:18He was in one of the offices around the corner.
42:23I knew.
42:26Is there any way we can catch King Gaffney?
42:28Well, they can stay with Mother as far as I can say.
42:31Yeah.
42:39I haven't... You've got the files,
42:41so you'll have to tell me what they refer to,
42:43but you're still awaiting...
42:45Well, in fact, we put the file back in your...
42:47You're still awaiting the crystals,
42:49you're still awaiting the fibrous substance,
42:51but those two are certainly negative.
42:53Oh, yeah. OK. So you've got...
42:55And they expect the rest to be negative too.
42:57Do they? Yeah.
42:59Never mind. OK, then.
43:01I didn't understand him when he came in,
43:03to mean that the LSD was, er...
43:07..negative.
43:08I don't know whether he meant it was negative or not,
43:10but I just checked and these two that he said are M2 and 3
43:13in the book are supposed to be the LSD, so they're negative.
43:15So that's a whole lot negative against that girl there.
43:17Yeah, it looks like it.
43:19A whole lot negative? Yeah.
43:21Well, I was just saying to Peter, in a way,
43:23that's probably a good thing,
43:24because it means that there's not an LSD manufacturing source
43:26about somewhere, doesn't it? Yeah.
43:28So I suppose it's relief one way. Yeah, that's right.
43:30The other thing is, of course, that she'll still go down
43:33for the other offences in any case.
43:35Oh, yeah.
43:36You've got the attempted deceptions and so on. Yeah.
43:39So I suppose, you know, every cloud's got a silver lining, really.
43:43CHEERING
