01:00Hi, Mil, mate. Police. Drug squad.
01:03Have you got any drugs on you at all?
01:05I'd just like to have a look through your pockets.
01:07You're going to the festival, are you?
01:09I'll have a look through.
01:17You get spun quite a lot, do you?
01:18Pardon?
01:19You get turned over quite a lot, do you?
01:20No, this is the first time.
01:21Is it? Oh, well.
01:22It's a new experience for you.
01:23Enjoying it, like, you know.
01:32Come on, Mil, mate.
01:34Police. Drug squad.
01:36I'd like to search you, OK?
01:37Just come over here, if you would.
01:40Keep your hands where I can see them, please.
01:42Drop your bag off.
01:43You got some mates with you, have you?
01:44Yeah.
01:45Can I just touch it? Hold on.
01:46Willie!
01:48Hold on a minute.
01:51I think if he hangs on, he'll get searched as well.
01:54We're all clean.
01:55You're all clean, are you?
01:56Right, let's start then, ladies and gentlemen.
01:58Good morning.
01:59Welcome to Reading.
02:01I'm just going to explain what the Pop Festival is all about
02:03for those of you who have never been here before.
02:07It's a jazz, blues and rock festival
02:08and it's organised by the National Jazz Federation
02:11and it's in progress from now until midnight on Sunday.
02:15Now, it's anticipated we'll have about 30,000 people here
02:18and you will also appreciate there's a lot of people
02:20of opposing groups coming here
02:22with whom we, the police, have got a deal.
02:25Now, the majority of those attending the festival
02:28are perfectly well-behaved, respectable young people
02:34and their future attitude towards law and order
02:39may be very much influenced by your actions.
02:43Now, I want to draw your attention to paragraph 18 to 22.
02:47This deals with drug offences.
02:50Now, if you look at paragraph 20, that reminds you of your powers.
02:59I can tell you the drug squad and the CID are present
03:03but let's make it very clear
03:05we're certainly not looking for a cricket score.
03:07This is the policy. We're not in a league.
03:12What we want to concentrate is suppliers and dealers.
03:17We're not looking for full-scale searches.
03:20We should try harder to just detect the suppliers, spot them
03:26and inform, if you see anything like that, inform the drug squad
03:29and let them take it on.
03:32For those of you in or surrounding the actual festival ground
03:37there is a Samaritan's Hospital release tent.
03:42Don't stay too close to these places.
03:44We don't want a police presence near there.
03:46Now, some bad stuff, bad drug is often sold, a bad mix and so forth
03:52and it's most important that when these people become ill
03:56that we shouldn't inhibit them from going for help.
04:00Now, is that clearly understood?
04:02So keep away from those places, if you will.
04:05The success of this operation depends on you.
04:08The way you behave today will set the temperature for the whole festival.
04:31Why don't you just go away?
04:33Pretend you never saw us and go on your way.
04:35Huh?
04:39Again?
04:40Why don't you just go away?
04:42Pretend you never saw us and go on your way.
04:44Huh?
04:48Again?
04:51Huh?
04:56I nearly joined Yaw and Bob once.
04:59Yeah, they wouldn't let me in.
05:01Keep that kid.
05:02Well, no, not that.
05:04I had different ideas on retribution,
05:06how to pay off my debt, how to keep the festival going.
05:08cos I had different ideas on retributes and what you lot have got.
05:11What's up?
05:13Oh, nothing. I'm strictly for an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, you know.
05:20Yeah, don't know what's real good, is it?
05:22Ah, well...
05:24Don't know, I reckon it would.
05:26I mean, look at that old Ayatollah bloke.
05:28I mean, he's a right shit.
05:30Honestly, he's a big shit.
05:31But hasn't he ever got the law sussed out?
05:35So he sat around, off with his head.
05:36Yeah, but...
05:38I mean, it sure does work.
05:40You wouldn't survive, would you?
05:41Could you go without a drink in this country?
05:52Did you get anything on your tour?
05:54Nothing. There was nothing at all.
05:56And I've told you, mate, there were just these things.
05:58You'll never know the reason.
06:00You'll never see them.
06:01You all right, Bob? Yeah.
06:03OK. Fair enough.
06:05THEY CONTINUE TALKING
06:30Fizz, Fizz, you get off the road and you can talk to me.
06:33Just keep the road clear.
06:34I'll toss you for him.
06:36I've won.
06:38I've won.
06:39THEY CONTINUE TALKING
06:42THEY CONTINUE TALKING
07:03It's chaotic.
07:05They're obviously not going to move
07:07until we can get more assistance to do something about it, have I?
07:11THEY SHOUT
07:13THEY SHOUT
07:40He's terrible.
07:42It's not good here.
07:44It's not now. It'll be Germany.
07:46Go on.
07:48Go on.
07:50They will bloody go.
07:52They will.
07:54Go on.
07:56Go on.
07:58Go on.
08:00Go on.
08:02Go on.
08:04There should be a few more coming.
08:06We'll get a bit more mob out here and then we'll get them out of the road.
08:08Yeah, one dog, don't we?
08:10There should be a few more coming.
08:12There's a bit of a mistake with the location.
08:18Yeah, we'll try.
08:20But as I say, we're completely outnumbered.
08:22There's very little we can do at present, are there?
08:24Yeah, yeah.
08:26Yeah, yeah.
08:28I don't know.
08:30I don't know.
08:32I don't know.
08:34I don't know.
08:36I don't know.
08:38Go on.
08:40Go on.
08:42Go on.
08:44Go on.
08:46Go on.
08:48Go on.
08:50Go on.
08:52Go on.
08:54Go on.
08:56Go on.
08:58Go on.
09:00Go on.
09:02Let's get into that lot there
09:04and shift it around through there, OK?
09:08Come on, lads, move it, come on, move on, take your lady from the house, come on.
09:22Who are you, sir? I'm Maloney!
09:25I'm Maloney, Mum.
09:27Arrest him! Arrest him!
09:33I didn't do nothing! I didn't do nothing!
09:45Why don't you shift along? Come on then, boys, on you go. Shift on, then.
09:50We're just waiting for someone. Where is he?
09:52I don't know. He's got lost in the crowd.
09:54Where can I find you then? Easy, right under the door.
09:57Come and stand on the corner.
09:59Well, what's the difference between standing on the corner and standing here?
10:02No difference at all, is there?
10:03You want to clear the street, all right.
10:05Well, what do you want to clear the street for?
10:07Because there's been a lot of trouble in here, now shift.
10:09There's no trouble at all. There's been no trouble.
10:12Listen, lad, I said don't push. I ain't pushing you.
10:15Don't.
10:18I'm waiting for one of the mates. What? Obstructing what?
10:21I'm waiting for one of the mates and we don't want to get split up.
10:24You've got two choices. You either move on or you're going to get...
10:26No choice or a dog's choice.
10:28You've got two choices.
10:29No choice or a dog's choice. Move over there. Move over there.
10:32What's the difference of there or here?
10:34We're going to clear the street, all right?
10:36We're going for a pint in a minute, anyway.
10:38You can't because the pub's shut. Come on, lad.
10:40It'll be over in a minute. Come on.
10:44What's the scope? Just clear the street, come on.
10:47No... No here. No-one's causing any...
10:50Go. No bother. No hassle. No aggro.
10:53So what's the fucking scope?
10:55Get going. Shift off the street.
10:57Come on. Come on.
11:03I'm loading, Charles.
11:05No aggravation, is it? Now, come on.
11:07Listen, you just keep your hands down because if I start using my hands,
11:10it's barely... Yeah, all right, come on.
11:12I know that. I'm scared.
11:14I'm not telling you... Listen, no-one...
11:16No-one knows what to do whether you're scared or not.
11:19You know, you're on that side and we're on this side.
11:22So that's it. We're clearing the street now. Come on.
11:24We're clearing the street. Come on. Keep walking.
11:29Just keep walking.
11:31Come on, you. Come on.
11:37There we go.
11:45That's good. That's good.
11:47Yes. I've got a couple of weedy ones on the bottom.
11:51Four. OK.
11:53By the carriage. Yeah.
11:55Whereabouts? Straight down the back.
11:59Come on, John.
12:01Come on, John.
12:03Come on, John.
12:05Come on, John.
12:07Come on, John.
12:09Come on, John.
12:12Put your hand up.
12:16Stand up. Stand up. Don't drop anything.
12:20Put your hand up. What's going on now?
12:22Put your hand up. Just stand there.
12:24You swallowed it, I suppose.
12:26I didn't have anything. I saw you just toss it in your mouth.
12:29I didn't have anything, honestly.
12:31Well, just talk to these people. Have a conversation.
12:38I'm just into beer, that's all.
12:40Shall we come out?
12:45One-five.
12:49Yeah, early turn, one for controlled substance.
12:52Is there any transport available?
12:54Is she going to come in for a strip search?
12:57Is that your handbag?
12:59I'm only having a pint. Pick your handbag up.
13:02Is that your bag there?
13:04Yes. All right.
13:06All right.
13:08Can I not finish my drink? No.
13:10Why not? Cos you're under arrest, that's why.
13:13Is that yours? Sure.
13:15Here.
13:28Have you got a cigarette?
13:30No.
13:32Can I buy some cigarettes, please?
13:35I'm going shopping.
13:37Oh, you're shopping, eh?
13:44Leave it till you're down the next one.
13:46I want to see my purse in that bag.
13:48You picked everything up yourself.
13:50Have you got any cigarettes?
13:53Have you got any cigarettes, anybody, please?
13:55They won't give you any, love.
13:59Yeah, please. I haven't got any. Don't let me buy any.
14:02I can't have a cigarette.
14:04She's not working in the car.
14:06Can you come down to the station and I'll give you a minute?
14:10I haven't done anything wrong.
14:13CROWD SHOUTING
14:26Yeah!
14:28CHEERING
14:42CROWD SHOUTING
15:03Have you just lost one of your mates?
15:05Yeah, she's all right. I'm just going to go to the loo.
15:08She hasn't come back for over an hour.
15:10At this campsite, to lose people for an hour is not unusual.
15:13Well, I know. We're all worried about her.
15:15You're right. Well, I know, on that side.
15:17Where was she when you lost her?
15:21She was with us.
15:41CHEERING
15:54CHEERING
16:11I've lost my leather jacket.
16:13You've lost your leather jacket?
16:15Yeah. It's got two NatWest band books in it.
16:17Paying in books? Well, pay in, take out, yeah.
16:20You mean a cheque book? Yeah, a cheque book, yeah.
16:23What did you say in the first place? It's a lot easier.
16:26You mean one paying in book and one cheque book?
16:28Yeah, put it that way, yeah.
16:32God.
16:33It's not just money, it's beer, it's a T-shirt and it's a watch.
16:36But he wants to make his girlfriend so he can get the watch.
16:39He wants to make his girlfriend so he can get the rest of his clothes.
16:42I see, which she has. Well, she has, yes.
16:45OK, would you come around to the window there? Yeah, OK.
16:50All right. They are definitely in the arena, aren't they?
16:53They are. He left them in the middle of the arena.
16:55And on his way back, he got beaten up by Hells Angels,
16:58which I should say again, shouldn't be allowed into festivals.
17:01Shut up. Sorry. I hate Hells Angels.
17:03They shouldn't be allowed to have drink, drugs, anything.
17:06They're pathetic creatures. Shut up! Sorry.
17:09You'll know that the message has been put over and you should expect them...
17:12Yeah. ..to come back to us around.
17:14Oh, thanks very... Cheers, thanks. Thanks a lot.
17:16Thanks very much. That's very nice of you. Thanks.
17:37MUSIC CONTINUES
17:51Have you had a busy time? No, it's very good.
17:54Fairly quiet. It's a good crowd.
17:57We've had a bit of can-throwing and a few fights.
18:00We had 60 stitch-ups in 30 minutes at one time.
18:03A good casualty would get 150 in a day.
18:06Well, you imagine what 1,300 extra ones going through.
18:09They're not particularly serious, but they're all...
18:13..they're all tired, they're dirty.
18:16Some of them are drunk, some of them have had other things.
18:20All dehydrated.
18:22And the problem is, they have to document it.
18:25CHANTING
18:33MUSIC CONTINUES
18:47They'd like you to leave, mate.
18:49Get to your work, will you?
18:51What? Big one?
18:53Because he said so.
18:55No, it's their friend who says they'd like you to leave, all right?
18:58I'm going. Well done, mate. You do it now.
19:00Could I do a big scissor? Eh?
19:03Could I use a scissor? That's all right, yeah.
19:05Let me get that old man, let me get that.
19:07There you go.
19:11Excuse me.
19:13He's all right.
19:15We're the best.
19:20Anyway, finish it up, bastard.
19:22I've still got 11.
19:30You're on till one, aren't you?
19:32I think it's half past one.
19:34I'm not sure. I'll have to have a look.
19:36Till it cools down, that's all.
19:38Just see what you've got in your pockets, please.
19:40Let's just put this down a minute.
19:42Have some information.
19:44If you'd just stand up there and go and swam while I'm a minute, OK?
19:47If you'd just put your hands up in the air, please, a minute, OK?
19:50Just keep your hands there, OK?
19:52What are we doing, just having a conversation?
19:57Yeah, there's no aggravation,
19:59just some information that possibly you're in possession of drugs,
20:02and you looked a little bit suspicious there, OK?
20:05So we're just checking to make sure.
20:07Yeah, that's OK, mate.
20:09Have you got any drugs on you?
20:13What is it?
20:15Vegetable matter. You're under arrest for being in possession of drugs.
20:19Do you understand?
20:21What is it?
20:23Well, you tell me. They're in your pockets, why?
20:25Can I have a look?
20:27I bought some earrings. Eh?
20:29I bought some earrings at the fair. Yeah, what's it?
20:32What?
20:34Jesus Christ.
20:36They're in your pocket, mate. Where did you get it from?
20:40Eh? I don't know.
20:42I've been drinking a lot tonight. Yeah, I know.
20:44They look like drugs to me.
20:48What are you doing with this? It's my knife. I'm a fisherman.
20:50You're a fisherman, are you? I always carry a knife with me.
20:53Think about it. That's my idea.
20:55You'd better come with us.
20:57You're under arrest for possession of drugs.
20:59It's not a blight of standing unless you wish to do so.
21:02If you do so, we'll take you out tonight.
21:04I'm trying to flog this, mate.
21:06Eh?
21:08You look like a sensible lad.
21:13Jesus Christ, mate.
21:15You're now in a state of shock, are you?
21:17Pardon? You're now in a state of shock, are you?
21:19You're right, eh?
21:21What is it? Just keep your legs still.
21:25Can you put it on with your shirt?
21:27Oh, what am I doing?
21:29Have you got any matches, then?
21:31Can you put it on, please?
21:33Oh, yeah.
21:35I haven't disappeared yet.
21:37You can turn round, love.
21:39OK, come over this way.
21:41Oh, she's got a sign there.
21:43Would you like a sign here?
21:45Sign your name there.
21:47You understand why you've been brought into the police station, don't you?
21:50Yeah.
21:52Thank you very much.
21:54Oh, just a minute. You've got to take your file with you.
22:00That's nothing compared to that.
22:02They've got the big AIDS there, but...
22:04I don't know what I've got in here.
22:08She hasn't been searched.
22:10All right.
22:12Keep her hand there.
22:14Right over here.
22:17That's just ordinary.
22:19I think I've got a nice one.
22:23What's that?
22:25That's LSD.
22:27White star LSD.
22:29Yeah.
22:31It's a nice one.
22:33It's a nice one.
22:35It's a nice one.
22:37It's a nice one.
22:39It's a nice one.
22:41It's a nice one.
22:43It's a nice one.
22:46Right there.
23:08That's a hell of a lot of LSD there.
23:10It is LSD.
23:16How much money value there, then?
23:18That is LSD. That's £2.50 each.
23:20£2.50 each?
23:22Yes.
23:24That is like LSD.
23:26Last year, we were getting the red star,
23:28which is exactly the same size as that,
23:30which came from Holland, so we believe.
23:36Yeah, she'll have to be interviewed.
23:38All right.
23:40Them two we kept in and we spoke to,
23:43Yeah, well, it looks like it, doesn't it?
23:45Yeah.
23:47Very good.
23:53She's got a few thousand pounds of stuff there, hasn't she?
23:55Yeah, it's that stuff you've got there, isn't it?
23:57Yeah.
24:07When you had a look at the gear, what did you think it was?
24:09I had no idea.
24:11Well, you must have had a look at it.
24:13I did have a look at it, yeah.
24:15Well, you know what cannabis is, don't you?
24:17Yeah.
24:19Well, is that what you thought it was?
24:21Well, I've never seen that type before.
24:23So you thought it might be cannabis, but you didn't know...
24:25I thought it was some sort of glass.
24:27It was a little bit different from what you'd seen before.
24:29And how much were they wanting for it?
24:33£10 a quarter or something like that, I think.
24:35They mentioned that figure to you, did they?
24:37Mm-hm.
24:39And is that what you paid?
24:41No, I didn't pay anything.
24:43Well, you had the stuff in your possession when you were arrested.
24:45Yeah.
24:47I turned around and the police were there and I just put it straight in my pocket.
24:49So they gave it to you and you was just about to give them the money, weren't you?
24:52Well, I was examining it, yes.
24:54Yeah.
24:56But they'd already mentioned that they wanted £10 for it.
24:59Mm-hm.
25:01And before you could give them the money, you were nicked.
25:03Yeah. Fair enough.
25:06Do you want to make a statement?
25:09Not really, I don't think.
25:11Well, what we're saying is it's not a statement against you
25:14for what you had on your possession.
25:17It's a statement with regard to the circumstances of the sale,
25:21that you were going to buy the stuff,
25:23in respect of the other people.
25:25It's a witness statement.
25:27Against him? Yeah.
25:31How would I come out on that?
25:33Sorry? How would I sort of come out on that?
25:36Well, the way it would come out is that...
25:39obviously, if the stuff is cannabis,
25:43that you had in your possession,
25:45then there'll have to be a possession charge.
25:47But obviously, as far as they're concerned,
25:49they're supplying the stuff, which is a little bit more serious.
25:52Mm-hm.
25:54And you're our witness, as far as they're concerned, for the supply and charge.
25:58So I'd have to come to court to witness against him?
26:04Not if they plead guilty.
26:06Not if they plead guilty, which I just think, you know,
26:09it's a fair assessment.
26:12So you just want a full statement of...?
26:14Just the circumstances of what you had in your possession,
26:17how it came into your possession,
26:19and what you were going to do, the offer.
26:22Yeah.
26:24OK.
26:26So you were walking on your way towards the festival site?
26:30No, walking away.
26:32Walking away from the festival site, when you were approached by...?
26:35A bloke and a woman.
26:37A bloke and a woman? Yeah.
26:39OK, we'll get that in first of all.
26:41Are you Miss Cook?
26:43What's your nearest nick?
26:45What area of London is Elephant and Castle?
26:48SE1.
26:50SE1.
26:52SE1.
27:15Look at these.
27:23It's the same as last year, isn't it, but a different colour?
27:26They look very much the same, don't they?
27:28What colour is this in there as well?
27:30It's cannabis, isn't it?
27:32Who's that there?
27:34Yeah, who is it?
27:36The girl.
27:38She's got to be separated, hasn't she?
27:40She'll have to separate. Sorry?
27:42She'll have to get her out.
27:44That's a lot of gear in there.
27:46If that is acid, it's useful.
27:49Has it been searched yet?
27:51Yeah, it has been, yeah.
27:56Everything off?
27:58No, the lock. Everything off?
28:00Everything off.
28:12Is she all right?
28:14No, we got a bloke with her and she was...
28:16We got another fella who we thought they were possibly selling to.
28:19I'm going to tell you now that if you are kidding us for long,
28:23you're going to be here probably all over the Pop Festival.
28:26You might have paid a lot of money to go to the Pop Festival,
28:29but you'll sit here for about 72 hours waiting for this to come up.
28:33You are not known by the lady that lives at that address.
28:37Now, tell me what you've got to say to that.
28:41Cos I think you're kidding me.
28:43I've been a policeman a long time.
28:45I'm not kidding you, it's just that she doesn't know me by that name.
28:48No, well, what name does she know you by then?
28:50Sally, I told you.
28:51Sally what?
28:52What we get in the mountains.
28:53Yeah.
28:54I think you're going to have to sit in there a long time.
28:57Go over there with the sergeant.
29:04Sit down.
29:06There you go.
29:10Is the address you've given the correct one?
29:12Or are you giving us a lot of old spiel?
29:14No, it's the correct address.
29:15We're very busy people.
29:16I know, but it's the correct address.
29:18Are you sure?
29:19Yeah.
29:20Go on.
29:22Mrs Shaw is the lady who lives there,
29:24and she's lived there for three years.
29:26I know she's Mrs Shaw.
29:28And she says that she knows no Patricia Cook.
29:31Yeah.
29:32Now, the obvious reaction from anyone,
29:33if you go to a name and ask for the name of Cook,
29:35she's going to say, well, I know it's Ali Cook.
29:37Yeah.
29:38But we didn't even get that.
29:39Nothing.
29:40She is unknown at that address.
29:42You're giving us a lot of comment.
29:44No.
29:45Well, you've given this address.
29:47Mrs Shaw doesn't know you.
29:49She says she doesn't know you.
29:50Well, she says she doesn't.
29:51So where does that leave us?
29:53She knows me as Sally, that's why.
29:54Sally.
29:55Well, she would have said I know her as Sally, wouldn't she?
29:57Obvious.
29:58Why?
29:59If someone came to your door and said, do you know Pat Cook,
30:01you wouldn't say I know...
30:02Yeah, but there's her name.
30:03I'd say, no, I've got a Jenny Cook lives here.
30:05Yeah, I mean, she's going to say, well, I don't know.
30:07It's a natural reaction.
30:08The situation would have been explained to her,
30:10wouldn't it?
30:11By the police.
30:12Well, it's not the same as saying I know her.
30:14Have you been to Redding Pot Festival before?
30:16No.
30:17Never?
30:18Well, you see, the point is, as far as we're concerned,
30:21we make the enquiries.
30:23If you don't add up, you know, who you are, where you live
30:26and all the rest of it, you're going to stay here,
30:28so you can please yourself.
30:29Simple as that.
30:30She knows me as Sally Wilson.
30:32Sally Wilson.
30:33Ah, now we're getting somewhere, aren't we?
30:35Ah, ah, ah.
30:36So we'll start from the beginning and let's have...
30:38Let's begin.
30:39You want a pen?
30:40Yeah.
30:41Ah, you got one?
30:45Right, start again then.
30:47Sally Wilson, is it?
30:50What was the nonsense for, then?
30:52Because I didn't... I don't know.
30:54You don't want to know...
30:56You don't want to know that you're in police custody, right?
30:59Simple as that.
31:00OK, Doug.
31:02Try again.
31:04Try again.
31:05You want to amend that sheet?
31:06Yeah.
31:07Yeah.
31:08Well, let's check it out first.
31:10We'll be right here all right if it doesn't end up so...
31:12Yeah, we'll clip it together from the time being, eh?
31:14OK.
31:15OK, right.
31:16Is she with you?
31:18All right.
31:19So if you go with this young lady,
31:21and she'll show you round,
31:23whilst we check the Sally Wilson bit,
31:27we'll hope that you're not kidding again.
31:33What's the score?
31:34As far as I understand it,
31:36she's got a big bag in her coat pocket,
31:39which appears on the face of it possibly to be acid.
31:43She's got something like about 10,000 on the look of it.
31:46Plenty of that, yeah.
31:48So this is big loose stuff here, isn't it?
31:50This is big stuff.
31:51So we can't really afford to fail at our chances.
31:54At the moment, we've got a halt.
31:56They're not doing anything else on that at all,
31:58as far as checking goes.
31:59So what are you going to do, talk to her?
32:01Well, we'll see that I'll be initially interviewed
32:04to see what she's going to say anyway,
32:06which I'll have to do tonight.
32:08And then she'll stay in here till the morning,
32:10and then we'll have a good bash at it in terms of addresses.
32:13You don't want this address checked, or what?
32:17Not really, no.
32:18You see, you want to leave it at that,
32:20cos they've been round there, you know.
32:22Yeah, we know they've been to that address,
32:24but that might not be the correct address.
32:26So you want to leave it at that.
32:28So we'll leave it as it is, go round the system,
32:30and scrub it until you're a bit more happy.
32:33Yeah.
32:34OK?
32:35All right, brilliant.
32:36Hey, Doug.
32:42Both on suspicion of being in possession of drugs.
32:49RM2.
32:52Full of polythene bag containing the crystals and a handbag.
33:01And RM3 for the matchbox containing the red crystals.
33:18Well, I'll tell you what, I can get to from in there.
33:23Have you seen it?
33:25Well, I haven't, no.
33:26Well, you look at it.
33:27Where is it?
33:28I don't know.
33:29Well, there's quite a bit there.
33:30You have a look at the stuff in there.
33:32I mean, it's the same as that stuff in there.
33:34I mean, it's been dyed.
33:37If you look at the gear in there.
33:39Yeah, he's got a matchbox on there.
33:43Give it a look at the matchbox.
33:50That's not redstone.
33:51No.
33:52But it's a good imitation.
33:54Yeah, well, it is if it's nine o'clock at night on a festival site.
33:58They must have about 20 or 30.
34:02I don't know what they thought it was.
34:04You know, from the way they reacted once we grabbed them.
34:07They thought it was...
34:08They think it's the real stuff.
34:09Well, she does, the girl who does carry it.
34:12Might be.
34:13Yeah, it might be, but if it is, you've got several thousand pounds worth of gear there.
34:22They've got all that amount of stuff, you see.
34:24It's unlikely they've unloaded any.
34:26Yeah, it's true.
34:27At this stage, you see.
34:28It's true.
34:32But if that is acid, then that is an awful lot of gear.
34:35An awful lot.
34:37So, you know, that's what's creating a concern from our part of view.
34:40Well, if we can get the answer back by ten o'clock tomorrow morning,
34:43we'll know which way we're going, then, shan't we?
34:45That's right.
34:46That's still right.
34:47That's still right.
34:52It's ridiculous, isn't it?
34:53But, you know, they're just starting.
34:56Nick took the right time, obviously.
34:58Well, yeah.
34:59Good Nick.
35:00Very good Nick.
35:01I mean, regardless of whether it is good gear or not, it's a very good Nick.
35:05I mean, potentially, I mean, it's difficult to say,
35:08but bearing in mind that I've had a thousand acid tabs in my hand before,
35:13and you've never been able to get a lot that well.
35:15Well, you've got to...
35:17I imagine somewhere in the region about 10,000.
35:20So, they normally go up about £2.50 apiece.
35:23You're talking about £15,000?
35:24You're talking a lot of money.
35:27Well, no, it's about £25,000.
35:29Yeah, £25,000.
35:30£25,000 a bit.
35:31So...
35:33Yeah.
35:34So, obviously, it's not something that we can possibly leave up here.
35:37I've got two other lads off the lake, two on the team.
35:41They'll have to be at nine o'clock as well tomorrow,
35:43because they've also got another dealer in with some gear
35:45that we don't know whether it's cannabis or whether it's henna or whatever.
35:49So, we'll have that situation to deal with as well tomorrow.
35:52But we're all right cover-wise throughout the day still?
35:54Oh, yeah. Yeah.
35:56It's been a long, hard day.
35:58It really has.
36:01Cream cracker.
36:03See the admin.
36:04What's happening?
36:05Well, I don't know.
36:08Let's just sort out what's available.
36:11I'll see what I can do, eh?
36:13You're very kind.
36:14It won't matter.
36:15It's a good meal, indeed.
36:40CHEERING
37:05Are you happy enough to point him out to us?
37:07Not really wanting.
37:09From a distance, maybe.
37:10Well, from an evidential point of view.
37:12We've got to have you point him out to us.
37:14You can't just wade in and say, look, mate...
37:16I don't want to go in there.
37:34We're down on arrests.
37:35Hospital are down on admissions.
37:37All sorts of reasons for it, I suspect.
37:39We can say that because we've got fewer policemen,
37:42therefore there are fewer arrests.
37:44And you can read all sorts of significances into that.
37:47Equally, of course, we can say that
37:49as Harold Pendleton controls the numbers attending
37:52by the bill he puts on,
37:53I suspect he can control the type of attenders.
37:56But it's an encouraging sign, whatever the reasons.
38:00Only one thing, yes, and Roger and I spoke about it last night.
38:05There was an incident last night when at least ten vehicles
38:09all went hammering along Richfield Avenue,
38:11blue lamps going, sirens blaring
38:13at a very fast rate going towards Cow Lane.
38:16And when I got back to the command vehicle,
38:19they said it's a 10-9,
38:21as if that was a complete justification.
38:24It was a 10-9.
38:26Whether it was justified or not is another matter.
38:29But the fact remains that a lot of policemen
38:32went hammering along Richfield Avenue towards Cow Lane,
38:34didn't know where they were going or why they were going there,
38:37and in fact were going in entirely the opposite direction.
38:39The incident had occurred at the Cow Lane end,
38:41but the two offenders concerned had run off towards Cavish and Bridge.
38:46And we were lucky, I think,
38:48that we didn't have a real incident going at the speed they said.
38:52The other thing that happened
38:53was that the discipline on there completely broke down.
38:56Everyone was shouting and bawling on there, garbled messages.
38:59Nobody knew what was happening.
39:00And, as I say, the only justification I could get was,
39:03it's a 10-9, sir.
39:05That's the court list this morning, 40 of them, sir.
39:10Have we got, are we likely to get soon,
39:13about this LSD job last night?
39:15That will be at least an hour, sir.
39:19I'd like to know as soon as...
39:21I think we're all fairly certain it is LSD,
39:24but it's nice to know.
39:27When I rang the lab, they said the stuff's now being checked and provided
39:31and there's nothing else in it which would inhibit the analysis.
39:35An hour at the earliest.
39:56All right.
40:07One.
40:08One.
40:09One.
40:26Well, you know, obviously, you just have to sit tight until the vote.
40:30Well, that's it, yeah.
40:31It's about an hour, so it should be in shortly.
40:33She said it's rubbish, but then she said there's some acid in it, didn't she?
40:36So...
40:37You know, whether one or two tabs have got some on it
40:40or whether the whole lot have just got a tiny little bit on them,
40:43I just don't know.
40:44Mm.
40:47Well, as I was saying earlier on, you know,
40:49I mean, if it's only got a little bit of acid in it, you've got to...
40:53That's the end of it, isn't it?
40:55You know, as far as she's concerned.
40:56When she goes to court with a bloody great pile of stuff like that
40:59and it's all got acid in it.
41:01No problem.
41:02That's the end of it, isn't it? End of story.
41:06Obviously, if it's...
41:07You know, if it is good stuff, then there's a lot more work to be done.
41:10Oh.
41:11Don't frighten me, all right? Eh?
41:13Don't frighten me.
41:14Good morning to you. Graham again at the lab.
41:17Right, I can give you part result on the...
41:19I'll give you the reference.
41:21It's D1047 of 80.
41:251047, which is Patricia Cook.
41:29Right.
41:31RM2...
41:33..which is the polythene bag.
41:36That's negative.
41:39And RH3...
41:41RM3 is also negative.
41:46It leaves us with some other of the stars,
41:50which are probably going to be the same, but we're running checks on those.
41:53And it also leaves us with the vegetable matter,
41:56which is still yet to be completed.
41:58OK. Fine. Bye.
42:03DOORBELL RINGS
42:10Where are your people who are dealing with corn?
42:12This is the big problem that we've got.
42:14That's Tony Byrne, I think.
42:16Yeah.
42:17He was over there. He was in one of the offices around the corner.
42:20I don't know.
42:23I'm quite new.
42:25Sorry.
42:26Is there any way we can catch King Gaffney?
42:28Well, they can stay with Mother as far as I can say.
42:31Yeah.
42:41You've got the files, so you'll have to tell me what they refer to.
42:44You're still awaiting...
42:45Well, in fact, we put the file back in your...
42:47You're still awaiting the crystals,
42:49and you're still awaiting the fibrous substance.
42:51But those two are certainly negative.
42:53Oh, yeah. OK.
42:54So you've got...
42:55And they expect the rest to be negative, too.
42:57Do they? Yeah.
42:59Never mind.
43:00OK, then.
43:02I didn't understand him when he came in,
43:04to mean that the LSD was...
43:09..negative.
43:10I don't know whether he meant it was negative or not,
43:12but I just checked, and these two that he said are M2 and 3,
43:15in the book, are supposed to be the LSD, so they're negative.
43:17So that's a whole lot negative against that girl there.
43:19Yeah, looks like it.
43:20A whole lot negative? Yeah.
43:23Well, I was just saying to Peter, in a way, that's probably a good thing,
43:26because it means that there's not an LSD manufacturing source
43:28about somewhere, doesn't it? Yeah.
43:30So I suppose it's relief one way. Yeah, that's right.
43:32The other thing is, of course,
43:33that she'll still go down for the other offences in any case.
43:37Oh, yeah.
43:38You've got the attempted deceptions and so on.
43:40Yeah.
43:41So I suppose, you know, every cloud's got a silver lining, really.
43:46CHEERING
43:56MUSIC PLAYS
44:27Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!
44:29MUSIC CONTINUES
44:35Hey!
44:37Happy birthday!
44:38CHEERING
44:40You want to say a little something?
44:42CHEERING
44:47CROWD CHANTING
44:49BIRD SCREECHES
