00:04It was the day of the children's midsummer party.
00:09Thomas was on his way to Brendam Docks.
00:12He was to meet the Fat Controller and the Great Magician.
00:17The Great Magician was going to do a magic show at the party.
00:22As he pulled into the docks, the Fat Controller was waiting with the Great Magician.
00:28At the end of the party, the Great Magician is going to do a big trick, boomed the Fat Controller.
00:34I call it the grande finale, said the Great Magician,
00:38and I need some very special things for it.
00:42Thomas thought this was very exciting.
00:45You, Thomas, will collect them, added the Fat Controller,
00:49and if you do your job well, you can be in the magic show.
00:54Thomas was happy. He really wanted to be in the magic show.

02:25I'm here to pick up something for the grand finale.
02:29On the platform was a stack of yellow deckchairs.
02:33That must be it, whistled Thomas.
02:36The deckchairs were loaded onto his flatbed, and off Thomas chuffed.
02:43When Thomas arrived at Knapford Station, Henry was there.
02:48I'm going to be in a magic show, puffed Thomas proudly.
02:52That's exciting, wheezed Henry. Why have you come to Knapford?
02:57Thomas couldn't quite remember.
02:59I have to collect something for the grand finale, something blue.
03:04Well, puffed Henry, there's a big blue flag over there.
03:09That must be it, whistled Thomas.
03:13The blue flag was soon loaded onto his flatbed, and Thomas puffed off to the party.
03:23Thomas was sure the great magician was going to be very pleased with him.

04:08He had been daydreaming about being in the magic show.
04:11He hadn't listened properly to the fat controller.
04:15He'd puffed to all the right places, but he'd picked up all the wrong things.
04:20I'm sorry, he wheezed sadly. I've been a very silly engine.
04:25The magic show was about to start.
04:28Then an idea flew into Thomas' funnel.

04:38In no time at all, Thomas was unloaded.

04:45but he knew he had to be back in time for the grand finale.
04:50First, Thomas went to Maithwaite station.

06:14Thomas was amazed.
06:16The children clapped and cheered.
06:21Shazam!
06:25Ooh! cried the children.
06:28And now, for my best magic trick.
06:46The children laughed and cheered.
06:50And Thomas was the star of the show.
