00:08Proton previewed its highly anticipated electric car, the E-Mass 7, to the media on Friday.
00:14The car, which will be sold under its E-Mass brand,
00:17is the first electric vehicle model for the national carmaker.
00:21Proton Holdings Berhad Deputy Chief Executive Officer Roslan Abdullah said
00:26they collaborated with Geely in developing E-Mass 7,
00:30including various aspects of its design and engineering.
00:33I would like to stress the role played by Proton in developing our first EV.
00:39From product strategy to engineering, design, production quality control,
00:47and local ecosystem development, we have worked together with Geely every step of the way.
00:54More than 240 of our engineers have made hands-on contributions to the project,
01:02ensuring it caters to the needs of Malaysians as much as those from other countries.
01:09For instance, designers from Proton Design were involved in styling the vehicle
01:15to ensure the theme selected matched local customers and market preferences.
01:20Our engineering team also contributed to styling phase 3 studies,
01:24and Proton was also given the task to acquire vehicle certification to ensure its roadworthiness.
01:33The E-Mass 7 is a C-segment SUV designed to cater to the needs of modern lifestyles,
01:39offering ample space and utility.
01:42The E-Mass 7 is the first model to feature the Advanced Global Modular Architecture platform,
01:48ensuring superior performance, handling, and comfort.
01:52With dimensions measuring 4,615 mm in length, 1,901 mm in width, 1,670 mm in height,
02:03and a wheelbase of 2,750 mm, it offers a spacious interior wrapped by a contemporary exterior design.

02:15to the Malaysian government's electric vehicle agenda,
02:18which calls for national carmakers to introduce electric vehicles by 2025.
