04:58While many parts of Metro Manila are being flooded due to the heavy rainstorm,

05:06BGC or Bonifacio Global City in Taguig remained flood-free.

05:22there is a water detention tank that we can see in this hole.

05:28When it rains in BGC, this is where the water is imbucked so it does not flood here.

05:32And when the rain stops, it will be pumped out to a creek that leads to Pasig River.

05:40It is deep because it is above four floors and can imbuck more than 20 million liters of water

05:48or equivalent to the contents of eight Olympic-sized swimming pools.

05:52The DPWH said that they plan to imitate this system in other parts of Metro Manila

05:57like under the UST that is located in Bahaing España Boulevard in Manila, but it did not flood.

06:03However, the UST administration did not agree, so we are looking for areas.

06:12The 1975 Flood Control Master Plan also plans to imitate this system

06:16that will add more water detentions aside from Pasig River.

06:20It will divide the Mangahan Floodway that was built in 1986

06:23to bring more water from Metro Manila to Laguna de Bay.

06:27It would also divide the Paranaque Spillway where the other water will flow to Manila Bay.

06:32But it was not done.

06:34That is why it was not continued because there was no budget.
