00:00Football is back, man, just covered the first practice of training camp for
00:05the Miami Hurricanes heading into the 2024 season.
00:08Of course, it's always a pleasure to watch Cam Ward at quarterback.
00:13I thought Xavier Restrepo, number seven at receiver, looked very good as usual.
00:18And we got a chance today to see some of the new faces that weren't here for
00:22fall camp, Damian Martinez, number six at running back, of course,
00:27getting prominent reps today out of the backfield.
00:30Seeing Mark Fletcher practicing again was huge.
00:34Fletcher, who suffered the foot injury in the bowl game,
00:37he's been rocking his recovery.
00:39I know Florida Gator fans are probably panicking about seeing him on the field
00:43August 31st, so seeing Fletcher out there, it was good seeing Akeem Mesidor
00:47back practicing and making plays today.
00:50Some of the new faces on the defense, got a look at Tyler Barron today,
00:54practicing for the first time in Miami.
00:57The former Tennessee Volunteers stand out, Edge Rusher.
01:00He looks physically very good on the field.
01:02Being able to watch Justin Scott, the true freshman five-star recruit,
01:07I think he can play a prominent role on the team this year.
01:12Watching the quarterbacks a lot today, of course, Cam Ward is always sharp,
01:17always professional.
01:18I'm seeing a lot of progress, too, from the true freshman, Judd Anderson.
01:22I know he's very likely to redshirt this year, which is fine.
01:25But maybe Miami has something for the future there, with him being six foot
01:30seven and moving pretty well, having a strong arm, I think that's a great sign.
01:34And so, yeah, we'll be covering throughout the week here on Locked on Canes.
