Transcript
00:00Guys like Okunlola and McCoy getting work there during the spring.
00:05Do you have that comfort level with whoever may step in?
00:08You gotta get comfortable with whoever you're playing next to because you gotta
00:11communicate, you all gotta be in the same page, you gotta know how we each other play.
00:15So of course, Matt McCoy, the spring game you saw I was next to him.
00:19I was getting reps with Samson at left guard too.
00:24They're all competing, our whole room is competing for that spot.
00:27So with every spot, so it's not nothing solidified.
00:30Obviously, we can't say we have a starting five right now.
00:33But with that left guard spot, as far as me getting comfortable who I'm playing
00:37next to, of course, I gotta get comfortable with them.
00:39And I gotta let them know, hey, this is how me and
00:42Jable were successful last year with it.
00:43We gotta be even better than that and build on top of what me and
00:47Jable, our chemistry we had last year and
00:50build that with whoever I play next to this year.
00:53You guys had a new center transfer in back in January,
00:57Zach Carpenter from Indiana.
00:59What's he like and has he fit in so far at that position?
01:05He's fitting well, he's, of course, Matt Lee was a great center we had last year.
01:11And everybody think, that's hard, shoes to follow.
01:14Zach, he's did a great job of filling those shoes.
01:18He's his own person, so you can't compare him to Matt Lee.
01:21So he might be quieter, but when it comes to football and playing that center spot,
01:26he gets all of our respect because he knows what he's doing,
01:29how he's doing it, why he's doing it.
01:31So he gets us all on the same page, so he's filling that center spot very good.
