Porthcawl has it all!
The sun is shining, the kids are off school and Wales is bursting with things to do this summer holidays. So we’re taking a look around some of the best places to visit, so we’re here in Porthcawl, one of the best days out anywhere in Wales, there’s the beach, the town and of course the fun fair.

00:00Porthcawl is one of those places we all remember visiting as a kid and one we all go back to
00:11every summer.
00:12It's the quintessential Welsh seaside town and really does have a little bit of everything.
00:17You can spend a full day here and not need to hunt around for things to do.
00:20It's all here in the same place.
00:22Just behind me you can see Coney Island Fair which of course is a classic.
00:26It's got all the rides and amusements you could need and it might be worth making the
00:29most of sooner rather than later as the Welsh Government have bought the land and are planning
00:33on developing the area.
00:36It's not fully clear when it will close down properly but it probably won't be here too
00:39much longer so use it while you can.
00:45Porthcawl has one of the most unique events anywhere in Wales with their annual Elvis
00:49Festival taking place right here every September.
00:52With literally thousands of people all dressed up in their finest Elvis gear, it's said to
00:56be the biggest of its kind anywhere outside the United States.
00:59So if you're not going to come here in the summer, the end of September is definitely
01:03your next best bet.
01:12Beach itself is in really good nick too.
01:14With so many people the rubbish isn't too bad and there's absolutely loads of space
01:18especially when the tides out so you won't be out of luck for space.
01:22Plus the classic seaside affair, you've got donkeys smack in the middle of the beach.
01:26It doesn't get much better than that.
01:30And then just a five minute walk from the beach here you've got Porthcawl town centre
01:34with plenty of nice beachy shops, cafes, bars overlooking the seafront.
01:38It's a great place to come even if the weather isn't particularly beachy.
01:46Porthcawl has got it all so it should definitely be on your list this summer and if you come
01:50during the week, parking is as easy as pie so there's absolutely nothing to worry about.
