00:18In a press conference today, the State Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister
00:24warned PKR not to threaten the ruling coalition's cooperation with Putrajaya under the unity
00:30government.
00:31Karim also said there was no point in PKR attempting to contest in the state elections,
00:38given that the state assembly is dominated by GPS.
00:41PKR has not been able to make inroad, so there is no point.
00:48It has been proven, in Sarawak at the moment, there are only 82 seats in the state assembly,
00:54with only one opponent, which is both from the DAP.
00:59PKR is no longer there, so there is no need to change the situation.
01:05Just leave it as it is.
01:08Yesterday, Council of Professors fellow Jeniri Amir was reported as saying if PKR fields
01:14candidates in the Sarawak elections, GPS leaders would question the party's commitment
01:19to working together at the federal level.
01:22Jeniri had told PKR Chairman, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to seriously consider the political
01:28implications of contesting the Sarawak elections, saying it was more important that PKR retains
01:34GPS's support at the federal level.
