Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced that six airlines will resume narrow-body aircraft operations at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang from Thursday (Aug 1) – AirAsia, Firefly, SKS Airways, Transnusa, Batik Air Malaysia and Scoot.

He added that flights are subject to a curfew and can only operate between 6am and 10pm.

00:00The upgraded facility is scheduled to be operational from 1st of August this year, that means on
00:12Thursday, with the commencement of nine daily flights from Firefly, AirAsia Malaysia, Batik

00:20Batik Air Malaysia, three times weekly Boeing 737 services to Penang, beginning 1st of August
00:27and before increasing to seven times weekly from 15th August 2024.

00:40Firefly, seven times weekly Boeing 737 to both Kota Kinabalu and Penang, beginning 29th

00:47AirAsia Malaysia, 14 times weekly Airbus A320 to both Kota Kinabalu and Kuching, beginning

01:03Firefly will also maintain its 266 flights weekly ATR to Alor Setar, Johor Bahru, Kota
01:12Bahru, Langkawi, Penang, Paratunganu and Singapore Seletar.
01:16With the additional jet operations on top of Firefly's ATR operations, Subang Airport's
01:22connectivity and network will be enhanced with direct links to eight domestic destinations
01:26and three international destinations.
01:29The eight domestic destinations are Alor Setar, Johor Bahru, Kota Bahru, Langkawi, Penang,
01:35Paratunganu and two new destinations, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.
01:41While three international destinations, Singapore Seletar, Singapore Changi, Changi of course
01:47is new, destination for Subang, and Jakarta is new as well.
01:53The first jet operations is scheduled for take-off on 1st of August 2024 by Batik Air
01:58Malaysia to Penang, scheduled at 12pm, and the arrival of Trans-Dusat flight from Jakarta
02:03scheduled at 2pm on the same day.
02:05Would there be like a curfew starting from midnight until 6am for example because the
02:11airport is near the residential area?
02:14Jet operations is only until 10pm, 6am to 10pm.
02:25Of course that is taken into consideration that this is surrounding their residential
02:30areas, that's why there will be no midnight flights here.
