00:28BRICS chair, besides expressing openness to join as a member country or a strategic

00:35Lavrov said Russia had acknowledged receipt of Malaysia's application.
00:39He said the organisation actively supports this interest and with Russia as the chair
00:44will help promote it.
00:45BRICS, which originally comprised Brazil, Russia, India and China, was established in
00:502009 as a co-operation platform for rapidly developing economies.
00:55South Africa joined the bloc in 2010.
