00:00The footage shows when a number of students tried to cross the Gedung Johor Bridge after
00:10it has half-collapsed in Medan Maimun District, Medan City, North Sumatra.
00:15Previously the bridge had become the main access for school children to go to several
00:20schools in the area.
00:27According to local resident, it was tilled when these students were on their way home
00:32on Tuesday afternoon causing one of them fell onto the beam.
00:37The so-called bridge is an abandoned railway, built during the Dutch colonial era and has
00:42been used a pedestrian bridge over the Delhi River.
00:47In the meantime, about a year ago the bridge was repaired, but due to its old age with
00:53the guardrails have been worn out, it's no longer safe to use.
01:23Currently, the local government has closed the bridge with police line to prevent any
01:45unwanted casualties.
01:48Locals hope the regional administration to fix Gedung Johor Bridge as it has become the
01:53main access for children to go to school.
