00:04:12Ah, Clara.
00:04:13How I missed you.
00:04:15You know, not a day goes by where I don't miss you deeply.
00:04:29Without you to hold my hand, to look at me with those life-affirming eyes, those eyes,
00:04:39you could save the world with those eyes.
00:04:44You could have stopped evil dead in its tracks.
00:04:48If it looked in your eyes, trouble never saw it coming.
00:04:58I just want you to look at me one more time.
00:05:03Never have I felt more alive than when you looked at me.
00:05:09I mean, I could always feel it.
00:05:13I'd give up everything for one more glance.
00:05:20I'm a wounded man, Clara.
00:05:23I got real pain in my heart.
00:05:29Look at me.
00:05:32Nobody is here looking at me except you.
00:05:36These people are my life standing here.
00:05:40They're waiting for something from me.
00:05:43They're waiting for a miracle.
00:05:46They want something, or they're just passing through.
00:05:52People everywhere, but none of them mean a thing to me.
00:05:59They're not going to distract me away from you.
00:06:02They're just mine.
00:06:06Because I bet on you.
00:06:29Because I bet on you.
00:07:00Ah!

00:07:38I'm not going to believe a word of this to Collette.
00:07:41She will not know which night we're going to be here.
00:07:45Thank you so much.
00:07:46Oh, thank you.

00:08:03That could hurt.
00:08:04Well, I don't know.

00:08:29It's going to be a long day, I can tell you.
00:08:31I'll give you this, but it's kind of stale.
00:08:33Maybe I'll go get you a Danish over there.
00:08:35I don't want to get into it.
00:08:38My limit.
00:08:39Chief got back from the vet yesterday.
00:08:41Oh.

00:08:57She's seen better days.
00:08:58Like me.
00:08:59She just won't eat.
00:09:01She eats grass and then spits it out.
00:09:04I don't know what to do.
00:09:06You know, all over the world,
00:09:08the scoundrels, the lowlifes,

00:11:10You did it again.
00:11:12How do you get in here?
00:11:14You use your paws.
00:11:16You get in with your paws.
00:11:18I mean, where'd you learn that?

00:12:30I'm losing hope in tomorrow.
00:12:40It hurts.
00:12:43Day in, day out.
00:12:46The beautiful memories of you
00:12:48walking toward me.
00:12:51Just one painful,
00:12:55constant reminder
00:12:59there's no one like you.
00:13:01None of them can hold a candle to you.
00:13:07You remember how I used to whisper
00:13:09about the future to me right before we'd fall asleep?
00:13:12I always liked that.
00:13:15You are a fortune teller
00:13:19and a mind reader,
00:13:22and you are my own primal prisoner.

00:14:17She is fresh.
00:14:19Ooh, ooh, ooh!
00:14:20I know.
00:14:21How are you, buddy?
00:14:22It's been a while, man.
00:14:23It has, Gary.
00:14:24It has been a while.
00:14:25I'm doing all right.
00:14:26You know, just hanging in.
00:14:27Just trying to play the game here now.
00:14:28There you go.
00:14:29Okay, take care.
00:14:30When are you gonna come down
00:14:31and check out the new salon, dude?
00:14:32Salon?
00:14:33You didn't know?
00:14:34No.
00:14:35Oh, my God.
00:14:36They got three, four, five, six tanning beds now.
00:14:39That's good for you, then.
00:14:40Massages.
00:14:41It's more than good.
00:14:42It's excellent.
00:14:43Oh, speaking of which, check this out.

00:14:47just for this car.
00:14:48Here, check it out.
00:14:49I look like a Lebanese strongman.
00:14:51Got some nice tits in there.
00:14:53Just had it made, homie.
00:14:55Beautiful photo.
00:14:56Really good.
00:14:57But no, seriously.
00:14:58Come on, man.
00:14:59I miss you.
00:15:00Come on down.
00:15:01Take a look.
00:15:02We're doing massages now.
00:15:04Thanks, Jasmine.
00:15:05Here you go.
00:15:06Oh, well, thank you.
00:15:08You're welcome.
00:15:09Good stuff, man.
00:15:10Good stuff.
00:15:11Anyway, Jasmine, this dude right here is a hero.
00:15:13He was my Little League baseball coach,
00:15:15probably the greatest genius of Little League of all time.
00:15:18And he had this little kid, Jacob Manglehorn.
00:15:20His son was almost retarded.
00:15:22The dude had, like, a hunchback, crow's feet,
00:15:24always sweating, twitching out, nervous,
00:15:26used to walk like a monkey.
00:15:27He always thought he was a queer bait,
00:15:29but in truth, he was just a little guy,
00:15:31kind of confused, and I feel bad about it.
00:15:33Kind of like a little Michael J. Fox bowl cut.
00:15:36Anyway, Coach, I heard he's doing good, your son.
00:15:38Heard he's rich.
00:15:39Is that true?
00:15:40Oh, yeah.
00:15:41He's a real stud.
00:15:42Real son of a prick.
00:15:43That's how it goes, my man.
00:15:45All those nerds in high school, they read all those books.
00:15:48Page one, chapter six, I have no idea
00:15:50what the hell you're talking about.
00:15:51Gary, Gary.
00:15:52Next thing you know, they're rich as hell.
00:15:53You want to shut up, Gary?
00:15:55Just hold it down a little.
00:15:56Nothing.
00:15:57Nothing resonates.
00:15:58Anyway, Coach, sorry about that.
00:16:00Sorry about rambling, man.
00:16:01It's good to see you.
00:16:02No, it's okay, Gary.
00:16:03Listen, do me a favor.
00:16:04I like, I enjoy seeing you.
00:16:06Just, just leave me alone now.
00:16:08All right, man.
00:16:09Yeah.
00:16:10No problem.
00:16:11Sorry to impede on your good fortune,
00:16:13but it's good to see you too.
00:16:14I would be honored if maybe tonight
00:16:16you wanted to kick it with me and some of the homies.
00:16:18I got this mulatto friend who just won
00:16:20a half a million dollars in mulatto.
00:16:22Not tonight, Gary.
00:16:23All right.
00:16:24Anyway, come have a drink, my man.
00:16:27I appreciate it.
00:16:28Coach, I love you.
00:16:29I wanted to be like you.
00:16:30Be a clown.
00:16:32I made so many mistakes, and now I look around
00:16:35and everything's gone.
00:16:37Why didn't I stay with you?

00:16:54and there you'll be waiting for me
00:16:56with a smile and a wink, and I'll be OK.

00:20:34Yeah.
00:20:36Yeah.
00:20:38Yeah, look, it's not an offer that's gonna stay on the table
00:20:40longer than 24 hours.
00:20:43I understand. Yes, I understand.
00:20:47Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's in for three, Bill.
00:20:50I... Yes.
00:20:52That's not the way this goes.
00:20:53The way this goes down is you count yourself lucky
00:20:55for finding me at this time in your life
00:20:57because you have a chance right now,
00:20:58right this second, to be so rich, it's sick.
00:21:02It's sick.
00:21:05It's sick.
00:21:08Stan, I don't convince. I don't. That's not what I do.
00:21:10You should convince me why I should invest for you.
00:21:13You understand? Does that make sense to you?
00:21:16Look, I'm gonna count to 10. I don't have time for this.
00:21:18I got to go to lunch.
00:21:19I come back on the phone. I want a yes.
00:21:21If I don't hear a yes, the offer's gone.
00:21:23You don't call me back in five minutes.
00:21:24You don't call me back in three minutes.
00:21:26You got it? Start the countdown.
00:21:2810.
00:21:36What is it?
00:21:38Bingo. Great.
00:21:40I'm proud of you, Stan.
00:21:42We'll go from there. Great work.
00:21:44Okay.
00:21:46Sorry about that, Dad.
00:21:48I'm just a real idiot.
00:21:51But he went for it, you know, so...
00:21:53He's a good guy. He's a good guy. He'll learn.
00:21:55Uh, how you doing? How you been?
00:21:57Great.
00:21:59Good.
00:22:01Great.
00:22:03Good.
00:22:05Yeah. Good. Yeah.
00:22:07Great.
00:22:14What the hell's that?
00:22:16My friend, the elephant.
00:22:20Is he looking at you?
00:22:23It's some elephant.
00:22:25It doesn't...
00:22:27It doesn't really look like an elephant, Dad.
00:22:29Well, it depends, you know.
00:22:31Where I'm sitting here now, looking down...
00:22:33Yeah.
00:22:35It does look a little like a baby elephant.
00:22:37But, uh, you know,
00:22:39that's, uh, neither here nor there.
00:22:43You like it?
00:22:45So? You working?
00:22:47Yeah, I'm working.
00:22:49Sure. Of course.
00:22:51Work is good?
00:22:53Work is all right, you know.
00:22:55It's what I do.
00:22:57You're working. Yeah.
00:22:59That's what we do, right?
00:23:03Why'd you come see me?
00:23:05You need some money?
00:23:07No.
00:23:09I'll give you a loan if you need one.
00:23:11No, I don't need your money.
00:23:13I just came to see my son, you know.
00:23:15I mean, you're never ringing my doorbells.
00:23:17Every once in a while, I come around and ring yours.
00:23:19That's all.
00:23:21You do what you want to do
00:23:23with your money.
00:23:25And you take care of my granddaughter
00:23:27with your money.
00:23:29Because that's what your money's for.
00:23:31What does Kylie have to do with anything?
00:23:33She's got everything to do with it.
00:23:35You don't want her slipping through the cracks now.
00:23:39You gotta give her all the love she needs.
00:23:43Yeah.
00:23:45Even if you have to pay for it.
00:23:47That's what it is.
00:23:49That's great advice.
00:23:51Well...
00:23:53You know who I saw?
00:23:55Who's that?
00:23:57Ran into Gary.
00:23:59Gary who?
00:24:01He asked for you.
00:24:03Gary, you know.
00:24:05Baseball Gary, remember?
00:24:07What's his last name?
00:24:09Hodges?
00:24:11Yeah.
00:24:13Gary Hodges.
00:24:15Yeah, there he is.
00:24:17You keep in contact with Gary Hodges?
00:24:19I'm in contact with him.
00:24:22See, there it is.
00:24:24He's a good kid.
00:24:26You gotta be kidding me.
00:24:28Well, he's doing nice.
00:24:30Tan man?
00:24:32His own business.
00:24:34Okay, this guy was a drug addict.
00:24:36Do you remember that?
00:24:38Yeah, I do.
00:24:40He's not a drug addict anymore.
00:24:42He's got a good head on his shoulders.
00:24:44We have the same taste in music.
00:24:46And also...
00:24:48Modern art.
00:24:50Really?
00:24:52You up on modern art?
00:24:54I don't give a shit about modern art.
00:24:56I wonder why.
00:25:02You know what?
00:25:04Here's the thing.
00:25:06I'm just gonna be honest with you.
00:25:10Gary...
00:25:12He doesn't mean anything to me.
00:25:14Okay, I beat Gary.
00:25:16I beat him long ago while he was washing cars.
00:25:18I was putting myself through college.
00:25:20While he's running a tanning salon.
00:25:22You know what I'm doing?
00:25:24I'm trading commodities with giants.
00:25:26If you want to parade Gary in front of me
00:25:28as one of your accomplishments,
00:25:30I'm not impressed.
00:25:32You're gonna talk like a jerk now?
00:25:34Is this what our conversation's gonna be?
00:25:36If I want to hang around with a jerk,
00:25:38I just go home,
00:25:40look in the mirror,
00:25:42talk to myself.
00:25:44I'm not trying to be a jerk.
00:25:46I just don't know why you always have to compare me
00:25:48to everybody else.
00:25:50I'm glad of that.
00:25:52This food stinks.
00:25:54It's awful.
00:25:56It's expensive food.
00:25:58I don't care how much it costs.
00:26:00Eat it dead.
00:26:02Menu, pretentious.
00:26:04Conversations are pretentious.
00:26:06Overpriced.
00:26:08Emperor's new clothes, right here.
00:26:10Don't eat it then, okay?
00:26:12It won't be eaten.
00:26:14Thank you, Rodolfo. Thank you.
00:26:16We're just, uh, just having a conversation.
00:26:18Rodolfo, I would like a piece of chocolate cake,
00:26:20if you got it.
00:26:22Yes, sir.
00:26:24Good. Thank you.
00:26:26Okay. Thank you.
00:26:30Never easy with you.
00:26:32Oh.
00:26:34Never easy. Of course, never.
00:26:36I don't want to do it. I don't want to do it.
00:26:38So you talk to the mom lately?
00:26:40How's she doing?
00:26:42I never loved your mother.
00:26:44The woman I love slipped away.
00:26:46I let it happen.
00:26:48Got my priorities screwed up.
00:26:50My vision
00:26:52of what I wanted in life.
00:26:54Yeah, that's too bad.
00:26:56Yeah.
00:26:58That's really too bad.
00:27:00Yeah.
00:27:02I guess things change.
00:27:04You know, I don't know. Maybe this other woman.
00:27:06Maybe she'll return.
00:27:08And then maybe you'll remember how to love someone
00:27:10more than an animal.
00:27:12You don't know love.
00:27:14Don't tell me I don't know what love is.
00:27:16You don't know. You're a son of mine.
00:27:18You should know these things.
00:27:22I got a lot of work to do, Dad, so...
00:27:24Oh, what else?
00:27:26It was great seeing you.
00:27:28Um, leave this for Rodolfo.
00:27:30Keep the rest for yourself.
00:27:32I don't need it.
00:27:34Great seeing you, Dad. Really great.
00:27:36Your cake, sir.
00:27:40Yeah, I'd like it a la mode.
00:27:42Will do, sir.
00:27:44That means...
00:27:46Yes, sir.
00:27:48Get rid of that orange stuff on the side, please.
00:27:50Yes, sir.
00:27:58Hey, don't you like ice cream?
00:28:00Yeah.
00:28:02How is it?
00:28:04It's good.
00:28:06But do you know what my favorite flavor is?
00:28:08Uh, chicken.
00:28:10Chicken ice cream?
00:28:12That's confusing.
00:28:14I like...
00:28:16I like vanilla.
00:28:18Vanilla? That's really confusing.
00:28:20It's a strange flavor for ice cream.
00:28:22No, it's not.
00:28:24Well, it's kind of confusing
00:28:26how the leaves change color.
00:28:28It is.
00:28:30How do they do that?
00:28:32Something happens in nature because...
00:28:34I think fairies do it.
00:28:36You think the fairies do it?
00:28:38Well, sure, why wouldn't they?
00:28:40What do you think the fairies do to the leaves?
00:28:42They paint them.
00:28:44And then they jump on them
00:28:46like trampolines
00:28:48so they look like they're gonna fall.
00:28:50Wow.
00:28:52You know,
00:28:54I once read a poem
00:28:56and it went like this.
00:28:58Nobody knows
00:29:00the wind
00:29:02neither you nor I
00:29:04but when the leaves
00:29:06bow down
00:29:08their heads
00:29:10the wind is passing by.
00:29:12Get that?
00:29:14Yeah.
00:29:16But in pictures
00:29:18you can see the wind.
00:29:20It looks like this.
00:29:22It's a straight line and then a curl.
00:29:24Yeah.
00:29:26A straight line and a curl
00:29:28A straight line, curve, curl.
00:29:30And you can see that?
00:29:32Yeah.
00:29:34You're special.
00:29:36I can't see that.
00:29:38Okay, here comes a sneeze.
00:29:40Now if I sneeze three times
00:29:42then you go down, baby.
00:29:44Let me see your sneeze first.
00:29:46Ah-choo!
00:29:48Ah-choo!
00:29:50Ah-choo!
00:29:52Yeah!
00:29:54That was good.
00:29:56This is fun!
00:29:58Do you want to do it?
00:30:00Just keep going, yeah.
00:30:02You better let your balloon go,
00:30:04honey, before we get home.
00:30:06Why?
00:30:08Well, I don't know.
00:30:10You know, a balloon belongs in the sky
00:30:12where it came from, right?
00:30:14Yeah, I guess.
00:30:16Oh, it gets lonely.
00:30:18Homesick, that's right.
00:30:20Oh, that's beautiful.
00:30:22Thanks for hanging with us.
00:30:24Come on, you want to drive this time?
00:30:26No.
00:30:28Why not?
00:30:30You know, I got to do everything.
00:30:32Bye-bye, Grandpa.
00:30:34Bye-bye, Patty.
00:30:36I love you very much.
00:30:38I love you, too.
00:30:40Thank you for my lion.
00:30:42Oh, there was nothing to it.
00:30:44See you next week.
00:30:46Thank you, Patricia.
00:30:48Thank you, mister.
00:30:50See you next time.
00:30:52See you next time.
00:31:22♪♪
00:31:52You know,
00:31:54I remember one time
00:31:56that we went to the rodeo
00:31:58with your dad
00:32:00and your abuelo
00:32:02and me and you.
00:32:04Do you remember?
00:32:06Yeah.
00:32:08Well, we went to the rodeo,
00:32:10and it was this bull,
00:32:12the longhorn bull.
00:32:14It was really big,
00:32:16and it was like,
00:32:18it was like,
00:32:20it was really big.
00:32:22He jumped the fence
00:32:24into the ring,
00:32:26and he started jumping
00:32:28and throwing things,
00:32:30and the clown went running,
00:32:32and everybody was running,
00:32:34and everybody was so afraid
00:32:36of this thing,
00:32:38and nobody knew what to do.
00:32:40The vets couldn't help him,
00:32:42and the poor bull
00:32:44was suffering and suffering,
00:32:46and Mr. Monglehorn
00:32:48came and walked to him,
00:32:50put his hand like that
00:32:52next to the bull,
00:32:54and the bull
00:32:56with his big, big paw,
00:32:58put it on top
00:33:00of the hand,
00:33:02and the nail that was
00:33:04hurting him so bad,
00:33:06and nobody realizes,
00:33:08went straight to the abuelo's hand.
00:33:10Cool.
00:33:12Yeah, and then the bull
00:33:14was good and relaxed again.
00:33:16That's why I love grandpa.
00:33:18Whoa, we all love grandpas.
00:33:20Abuelos.
00:33:22Abuelos.

00:36:16Mr. Manglehorn, good to see you again.
00:36:18Good to see you.
00:36:20Have a seat please.
00:36:22Sure.
00:36:24I've got some interesting
00:36:26things to share with you
00:36:28about Miss Fanny.
00:36:30Okay, I'm ready.
00:36:32Her vomiting
00:36:34and lack of
00:36:36appetite
00:36:38is resulting from a problem
00:36:40in her small intestine.
00:36:42She has swallowed a foreign object.
00:36:44She has an obstruction
00:36:46that is
00:36:48not allowing the normal
00:36:50peristalsis of the smooth muscle
00:36:52to continue.
00:36:54What could that object be?
00:36:56Well, that's a good question, and I'm sure
00:36:58you'll be able to recognize it quite easily.
00:37:00How she swallowed
00:37:02that, I don't know,
00:37:04but there it is.
00:37:06And so what we're going to need to do
00:37:08is a laparotomy.
00:37:10She's actually in a very good position.
00:37:12It passed through her stomach,
00:37:14through her pylorus, and it's in
00:37:16the upper part, what we call
00:37:18the duodenum, of the small intestine.
00:37:20This is another
00:37:22chart showing, in this instance,
00:37:24a foreign object, which is a
00:37:26ball, that's in this animal's
00:37:28intestine. Even in a sterile
00:37:30surgical setting, there's
00:37:32bacteria at work in
00:37:34the GI tract, so we're going to need to
00:37:36compensate for that. We'll flush
00:37:38her abdomen. Her blood work looks
00:37:40really great. She's going to be a good
00:37:42anesthetic risk.
00:37:44We're catching this early enough.
00:37:46You're going to get right through this.
00:37:48Very, very good chance that she'll do super fine.
00:37:50We'll be able to just make a small...
00:37:52Could you give me the percentage of chance?
00:37:54We're going to make a small incision.
00:37:56I would say 95%
00:37:58excellent chance of full recovery.
00:38:00That's what we want.
00:38:02Okay.
00:38:04Okay.
00:38:06…and hang in a well-combined
00:38:08suit.
00:38:10But it wouldn't be
00:38:12make-believe,
00:38:14if you believed in me.
00:38:16Spurned
00:38:18build-it-bad at work,
00:38:22Need justice for me as it can be.
00:38:24But it
00:38:26wouldn't be
00:38:28make-believe,
00:38:30if you believed in me.
00:38:36Good morning, Mr. Mango. Are you doing all right today?
00:38:46I'm a day another sausage, Carl. You got that right.
00:38:49I don't know what he got, but he got it, you know.
00:38:51I don't know what he got, but I don't know what he got.
00:38:53For Chief.
00:38:54How's he doing?
00:38:58So much better.
00:38:59Oh, yeah?
00:39:00Yeah, the wound is healing.
00:39:01It's healing?
00:39:03Yeah. Thank you so much.
00:39:05You're such a sweet man.
00:39:08Just a little drop.
00:39:10It's starting to take effect on her.
00:39:16All right, Miss Fanny, we're fixing to open you up,
00:39:19the young lady.
00:39:22Pop that scalpel blade on the sterile four
00:39:25by fours right there.
00:39:27OK, don't touch nothing.
00:39:30Go ahead and get that tape tight.
00:39:32Be careful now.
00:39:34Y'all scrubbed her already?
00:39:36All right, put that solution on there.
00:39:37That's what needs to be on there right now.
00:39:40Yeah, just drape it on there.
00:39:41Sorry to say, I'm going to have to withdraw some cash,
00:39:44because I went for that second opinion.
00:39:46And, you know, Fanny got some x-rays.
00:39:51OK, we're going to open her up here right on the bottom.
00:39:53And now they put me on a total care plan.
00:39:55What's that?
00:39:57She had to have some involved surgery.
00:39:59And so I got to pay by the month.
00:40:03Yeah, I'm not too happy about it.
00:40:06Based on our radiographs, we've got a foreign object
00:40:11that looks like a key of some sort located in the intestine.
00:40:16We've got a lot of intestinal fat here in the omenum.
00:40:19I'm so sorry.
00:40:21See, look at you, coming in here with a toy for my dog.
00:40:26It's a cheap toy.
00:40:28Picked it up in a bargain bin.
00:40:30Well, it's the thought.
00:40:31The thought, yeah.
00:40:32We're going to take a look here.
00:40:34Very nice viable tissue, very pink and pretty,
00:40:37with all the mesenteric vessels in good shape.
00:40:40And uh-oh, there we go.
00:40:43That doesn't belong there.
00:40:46It appears, with our little animal friends,
00:40:49that they're a lot tougher than us humans.
00:40:51A lot of them, after major abdominal surgery,
00:40:55seem to be fairly oblivious to any real pain.
00:40:59And this is what Miss Fanny has gotten into.
00:41:05So, you know, I got no Fanny for about a week.
00:41:09Were you just sitting around all weekend?
00:41:11You need some company?
00:41:12I'm going to the Pancake Jamboree, you know,
00:41:14at the Legion.
00:41:15I'm doing that tomorrow.
00:41:17See the old guys.
00:41:19I like hanging out with folks who are so up to me.
00:41:21Makes me look at the bright side.
00:41:23I also like pancakes.
00:41:25I've never been to that.
00:41:26Always meant to.
00:41:29Why don't you come on down?
00:41:30I think you'd enjoy it.
00:41:32Maybe I will.
00:41:34And this is still good, 96 over 168.
00:41:37As we close her up here, what we'll do
00:41:39is put absorbable sutures in the midline.
00:41:42She had no appearance of any intussusception,
00:41:45which is where the intestinal tube envelopes down on itself,
00:41:51just like when you pull your sock off at night
00:41:54and it's half off and still half on your foot.
00:41:57And the tube of the sock, it's a little bit up there.
00:42:01Take a little panty-a-squeeze for me, would you?
00:42:03Oh, sure.
00:42:05You don't worry too much, OK?
00:42:07Yeah.
00:42:09I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore,
00:42:20very deeply stained within.
00:42:25I was sinking to rise no more, but the master of the sea,
00:42:36he heard my despairing cry.
00:42:40From the waters he lifted me, now so safe am I.
00:42:50And it was love lifted me, oh, love lifted me, he said, girl.
00:43:06It was love lifted me.
00:43:12I said, when nothing else could help,
00:43:17oh, when nothing else could help, I said, it was love lifted me.
00:43:34It's not bad.
00:43:39See you soon.
00:43:48Oh, man, I was telling that story about bananas.
00:43:50Really?
00:43:51Yeah, he was here.
00:43:52Well, thanks again for coming back.
00:43:53What kind of story are you telling?
00:43:55Just tell me.
00:43:56Somebody said it.
00:43:57I thought it was you.
00:43:58I never said a word about bananas.
00:43:59Now, did you hear me say something?
00:44:01Nobody gets it except him.
00:44:02You know, he eats a banana in two bites.
00:44:04How many people, you know, eat a banana in two bites?
00:44:07And he did.
00:44:08In two bites.
00:44:09In two bites.
00:44:10And his name was Harry Belafonte.
00:44:11Not those little Mexican turds, you know?
00:44:14The big Hawaiian chalambos.
00:44:17I wish I could.
00:44:18We'll get a banana later.
00:44:19Can we have a banana?
00:44:20Let me have this first, though.
00:44:21I just don't want to fool myself.
00:44:22Well, you ought to find out why the guy didn't go to the carnival with that.
00:44:24I remember the last time.
00:44:25You know, I was eight years old when I went to my first carnival.
00:44:28It was amazing.
00:44:29It was light.
00:44:30The smell of cotton candy in the air.
00:44:32At that time, I could smell.
00:44:33I had a sense of smell.
00:44:34I lost that.
00:44:35It must have smelled in my regular year.
00:44:37I noticed.
00:44:38Anyway, I was really into it.
00:44:40I took my little sister, and we went over to this ride,
00:44:43ride a boat across the pond.
00:44:45And there were these kids in front of us.
00:44:47It was pretty sad, because they were all sick, I think.
00:44:49They had bandages.
00:44:50They had a nun with them.
00:44:52Meanest, ugliest face you ever saw.
00:44:55I mean, it was really mean.
00:44:57I remember being scared.
00:44:59Now, they all get in this boat,
00:45:01and they strap themselves across to the big bar,
00:45:05and they just take off.
00:45:07All of a sudden, the boat starts to tip.
00:45:10It's real quiet.
00:45:13And we watch this thing just tip.
00:45:16And then, bam!
00:45:19Tip's over.
00:45:21I never saw anything like it.
00:45:23We just froze.
00:45:24A few seconds go by, and this nun,
00:45:26she comes out under the boat,
00:45:29and she's screaming.
00:45:31No children with her, just screaming,
00:45:33help, help!
00:45:34So a few of the guys on the line,
00:45:36they jump in the water, start swimming toward the boat.
00:45:38They can't do anything.
00:45:39No children.
00:45:40Just a nun.
00:45:42And so they start swimming under the boat,
00:45:45seeing if they could get to the little kids
00:45:48and just pull them out, you know.
00:45:50And this just goes on and on and on.
00:45:52It was like endless,
00:45:53and they just keep doing it over and over again.
00:45:56Finally, this guy gets out.
00:45:58He looks over at us and says,
00:46:01they're dead.
00:46:04Why are there a nun?
00:46:05All of them?
00:46:06Yeah.
00:46:07All the children are dead.
00:46:12Sounds like an act of God to me.
00:46:15How are you ever going to tell me there's a God?
00:46:18How is anybody going to tell me there's a God after that?
00:46:22No way.
00:46:24I'm just a hungry bear.
00:46:27We have a few more.
00:46:29And you could, uh, you could,
00:46:31don't be stingy on the bacon.
00:46:34How are you doing?
00:46:36Dawn.
00:46:38Hey, how you doing there, Dawn?
00:46:42Sorry.
00:46:44Nice to see you.
00:46:46You made it out, huh?
00:46:49Good to see you.
00:46:52Come on, I'll grab you something to eat.
00:46:55Come on.
00:46:56Come on.
00:46:57Come on.
00:46:58Come on.
00:46:59Come on.
00:47:00Come on.
00:47:01Come on, grab yourself some food.
00:47:04I'm going to grab us a table.
00:47:06Come on, check it out.
00:47:08My mother and brother and I,
00:47:10we moved to Sacramento.
00:47:12Have you ever been there?
00:47:14Sacramento?
00:47:15No.
00:47:16It's real beautiful.
00:47:18Big trees.
00:47:20What did your brother do?
00:47:22Don't laugh, but for a while he was a professional mime.
00:47:29I know what's so funny about it.
00:47:31You said don't laugh, but it's funny.
00:47:33You're right.
00:47:35I just saw a mime.
00:47:37You believe it?
00:47:38A couple of days ago in the park.
00:47:40I mean, they used to be everywhere.
00:47:42What happened?
00:47:43Lost art, I suppose.
00:47:46You've been here your whole life?
00:47:48No, I come from North of here.
00:47:51I moved here about 40 years ago.
00:47:54Close to it.
00:47:55I liked it.
00:47:57I thought maybe it'd be a good place to raise kids.
00:48:00I got a son and a granddaughter.
00:48:04You ever think about retiring?
00:48:06Retiring?
00:48:07No, that'd be terrible.
00:48:09I wouldn't know what to do.
00:48:12And you know what they say,
00:48:14that idle hands is to the devil's playthings.
00:48:17I'd probably get in a lot of trouble.
00:48:19Like Ned over there.
00:48:21He's a time bomb.
00:48:23Hey, Ned.
00:48:26You know what I'd like?
00:48:28I'd like to get in my boat.
00:48:30I got a boat with Fannie.
00:48:32Get on the ocean and just disappear.
00:48:37You know?
00:48:39Float away.
00:48:41What would I do without my friend around?
00:48:44I'd be sad on Fridays.
00:48:46Yeah.
00:48:48Well, that's nice to hear.
00:48:53Would you?
00:48:56Yeah.
00:48:58Well, it's good to know that.
00:49:00I'm enjoying this, you know,
00:49:02sitting around with you here.
00:49:04You got my mind off a lot of stuff.
00:49:06Crowds tend out.
00:49:08There used to be a lot more people
00:49:10coming to these things.
00:49:12Same amount of pancakes, though.
00:49:20Let's do it again?
00:49:23Okay.
00:49:25Okay.
00:49:33If I could go back...
00:49:37If I could go back, I would change things.
00:49:41Every night I go to bed,
00:49:43I wake up and open things
00:49:45more like they used to be.
00:49:49Like we'll be young again.
00:49:55I don't have time to put up with it anymore.
00:49:59The world's changed so much
00:50:01and I've been around for so many years.
00:50:04Without you around,
00:50:07there's no point.
00:50:14I got nothing but frustration,
00:50:18disappointment.
00:50:25I got nothing.
00:50:41I need you, Clara.
00:50:45I need you.
00:50:47I need you more than anything
00:50:49in the world right now.
00:50:55I look for happiness
00:50:59without you that don't exist.
00:51:07You know,
00:51:09loving you
00:51:11is the only thing I ever done right.
00:51:19And what?
00:51:22No one compares.
00:51:24They never will.
00:51:40Hi.
00:51:42How are you?
00:51:44I'm good.
00:51:46Come in, come in.
00:51:48I want you to see my place.
00:51:51Yeah, well, that must be
00:51:53the world-famous Chief.
00:51:55Right?
00:51:57Hey, Chief, let me see you.
00:51:59Be good.
00:52:01Oh, that poor baby.
00:52:03Come to Papa.
00:52:05Come here.
00:52:07Hey, Chief, say hello to me.
00:52:09I heard so much about you.
00:52:11Yes.
00:52:13Oh, that poor baby's got to have this stuff.
00:52:15How long does he have to have it on for?
00:52:17Oh, just for a couple more days.
00:52:20Just a couple more days.
00:52:22Hey, my boy.
00:52:24Here, come on.
00:52:26Oh, geez, sorry.
00:52:28Oh, my God.
00:52:30Oh, man, I'm sorry.
00:52:32No, don't.
00:52:34That happens all the time.
00:52:36I put that in the wrong place.
00:52:38The dirt came out now.
00:52:40Let me get it.
00:52:42You got a vacuum cleaner?
00:52:44No, absolutely not.
00:52:46Well, I'll get that.
00:52:48Well, it is a nice place you got here, though.
00:52:50I must say, it is, uh...
00:52:52You know, you got all the knickknacks here.
00:52:54Look at this.
00:52:56You got a fancy plate collection
00:52:58and everything.
00:53:00What'd you do, boost these things
00:53:02from, uh, Queen of England or something?
00:53:04Yeah.
00:53:06Look at this.
00:53:08I know this. This has got real value.
00:53:10I know these things.
00:53:12I like your shirt.
00:53:15Yeah?
00:53:17You look good.
00:53:19You do, too.
00:53:21Thank you.
00:53:23You look, uh...
00:53:27You look like a racehorse or something.
00:53:29Yeah.
00:53:31I look like a racehorse.
00:53:33Yeah, I said that.
00:53:35Well, there's worse things.
00:53:37I don't know. Things just come out of my head sometimes.
00:53:39No.
00:53:41I always say the wrong thing,
00:53:44but you look really good.
00:53:46Have a seat.
00:53:48Would you like a glass of wine or, you know, grape juice?
00:53:50Yeah, whatever.
00:53:52Blood of Christ.
00:53:54Blood of Christ.
00:53:58I'm happy you asked me to dinner.
00:54:04Where's your bathroom?
00:54:06Oh, right there.
00:54:08Thank you.
00:54:13Thank you.
00:54:44I'm glad it's over now.
00:54:46It's not worth it anymore.
00:54:48It's not worth any more pain for me.
00:54:50You're not worth a damn thing.
00:54:52No.
00:54:54You're not worth a damn thing.
00:54:56No.
00:54:58I'm not.
00:55:00I'm not worth anything.
00:55:02No.
00:55:04I'm not worth anything.
00:55:06No.
00:55:08I'm not worth anything.
00:55:10No, you're not.
00:55:12Look, you people got to eat, too, I guess.
00:55:22You went up $4 more than it normally is.
00:55:27Can you believe that?
00:55:33How's the fish?
00:55:38Should we go get a drink after this?
00:55:41Maybe see a movie.
00:55:44Well, you know, I think I'd better get back to Fannie.
00:55:49Oh, I thought she was in recovery at the vet.
00:55:52Yeah, she is, but, you know, she's kind of lonely,
00:55:56and I don't want to leave her there alone.
00:55:59I get the 24-hour visitation, so I could go any time.
00:56:07You're a good man.
00:56:11Yeah.
00:56:14I really had such a nice time with you the other day.
00:56:17I like being around you.
00:56:20Yeah, I'm just a person, you know.
00:56:23Well, I'm a people person, so you're in luck.
00:56:27Yeah, people, who needs them, right?
00:56:32You don't mean that.
00:56:33Yeah, well, you know, most of them.
00:56:37Don't be a grump.
00:56:38People are important.
00:56:41With people, you have substance.
00:56:44And life's better when there's human substance.
00:56:51I love life like I'm a baby.
00:56:56I just wake up excited every day that I'm alive.
00:57:01I love everything.
00:57:03I really do.
00:57:05You know what I love?
00:57:08I love taking baths and watching the water
00:57:12come out of the faucet.
00:57:16I just sit there.
00:57:19Yeah.
00:57:19And think, wow, isn't that amazing?
00:57:23All this beautiful, clean water coming right out of the faucet,
00:57:26sticking out of my wall.
00:57:30Simple things, you know.
00:57:32Big things.
00:57:39Let's take a bath together.
00:57:43Would you like to take a bath with me?
00:57:50You know, you're wearing a very similar dress
00:57:55that Clara used to wear.
00:57:58Who's Clara?
00:57:59Used to wear.
00:58:01Who's Clara?
00:58:02Clara.
00:58:04She was a very special woman in my life.
00:58:06Oh, um, is this your ex-wife?
00:58:10No, I was never married to her.
00:58:12I was married, but not to Clara.
00:58:15Oh, yeah, um, the other day at the bank.
00:58:18Yeah, we used to do this sort of thing, me and Clara.
00:58:20Go out, have dinner, talk, stuff, eat.
00:58:26She was, uh, she was really great company.
00:58:31She had a certain way about her, you know.
00:58:34She was perfect, in a manner of speaking.
00:58:38I mean, she was this giant ball of fire, giant spirit.
00:58:45I was very small by comparison.
00:58:50And she was always so interesting.
00:58:52I mean, she always had interesting things to say.
00:58:55And whatever you want to know, she was right there.
00:58:58I mean, you wanted to know something about Vesalius.
00:59:01Or let's say you want to know something about Leeuwenhoek
00:59:06or Isaac Newton or whatever, Tina Turner.
00:59:11She was an observer, a great observer of history
00:59:15and life and people.
00:59:17Time just flew when I was with her.
00:59:19I mean, we were in a restaurant in Florence, Italy.
00:59:22And looking out, you know, these children
00:59:24playing in the street.
00:59:25She's ordering off the menu for me.
00:59:29And we're talking.
00:59:30And then we're talking in Italian, broken Italian.
00:59:33And then it's an hour, maybe two hours going by.
00:59:37It felt like seconds.
00:59:38I turn around.
00:59:39Everybody's gone.
00:59:41Chairs on top of the tables.
00:59:44And there's just Clara sitting there.
00:59:48Thunder crashing and the rain falling.
00:59:51And she's kind of burning against that tableau,
00:59:58talking to me, having dinner with me.
01:00:08I'm sorry.
01:00:09I'm not as interesting as she seems to be to you.
01:00:12Oh, nobody is.
01:00:14I mean, not just you.
01:00:15I mean, not just you.
01:00:16It's just they broke the mold when they made her.
01:00:20This is one of those things, you know.
01:00:22Sounds like quite a woman.
01:00:24Oh, yeah.
01:00:25You don't even know.
01:00:26I mean, she has so much emotion.
01:00:29She was so emotional.
01:00:31I mean, she tried to hide it.
01:00:34But I knew.
01:00:39Can we talk about something else?
01:00:42Yeah.
01:00:43What you got?
01:00:48Hey, you know you got nice eyes.
01:00:51For the record.
01:00:53I kind of like your eyes.
01:00:58You know, when I eat a macaroni salad,
01:01:01I get bloated.
01:01:04I mean, I eat beets.
01:01:07I have instant diarrhea.
01:01:10I'm sorry.
01:01:11I'm sorry.
01:01:14I thought this was going to be something different.
01:01:17You know?
01:01:20How do you mean?
01:01:23I like you.
01:01:26I couldn't sleep last night.
01:01:30I was so excited for this date.
01:01:34Just excited even to see you.
01:01:38And now I feel like you'd rather I just leave.
01:01:40Oh, no.
01:01:41I'm not saying that.
01:01:42You know, I thought you were a nice man.
01:01:44But you bring me here.
01:01:47And I open up to you.
01:01:49And you talk about a woman you're still in love with.
01:01:52How is that supposed to make me feel?
01:01:54I don't know.
01:01:56I'm not asking for the world.
01:01:58I'm not.
01:01:59No.
01:02:00We've all had relationships in this life.
01:02:03You don't want to cry, do you?
01:02:06And some things we feel and regret deeply and hold on to.
01:02:10But that's not what I came here for.
01:02:12There's people sitting there, you know?
01:02:14I came here because...
01:02:18I was hoping you liked me like I like you.
01:02:24Oh.
01:02:25Oh, please.
01:02:26Please don't.
01:02:27And people.
01:02:28I'm gonna go.
01:02:30No, no, you don't want to go.
01:02:32Go on.
01:02:33How humiliated I am.
01:02:34I'll take you home.
01:02:35What are you doing?

01:04:09But I'm very stable.
01:04:13I need a day at the beach and I need to get back to normal.
01:04:24Back to normal.
01:04:26Anybody home?
01:04:28Coach?
01:04:29Goddamn!
01:04:30Is that you, Coach?
01:04:31Hey, Gary.
01:04:32I am so glad.
01:04:34Hey, Coach.
01:04:35Keep close, buddy.
01:04:36Coach, Coach, Coach, Coach, Coach.
01:04:37Yeah?
01:04:38Let me just feel.
01:04:39Yeah, those rocks.
01:04:40Hard as rocks, Coach.
01:04:41I promise you, Coach.
01:04:42You're gonna love it.
01:04:43Oh, yeah.
01:04:44Well, let's, uh...
01:04:45Come on, Coach.
01:04:46Let me, uh, give you a little tour here.
01:04:48Yeah.
01:04:49This hallway right here was designed by a Vietnamese.
01:04:52A Vietnamese man and his wife.
01:04:55Girl, you got somebody with a stiff neck.
01:04:57He needs his pores popped.
01:04:58He needs his pimples jammed.
01:05:00This is Coach Mangy, Mangy, Mangy, basketball,
01:05:02baseball, basketball, all-sport coach.
01:05:05Get your quiet.
01:05:06Yeah, I need the quiet down.
01:05:08I'm the doctor.
01:05:09This is the nurse.
01:05:10My nurse.
01:05:11My nurse, honey.
01:05:12I get so funny about that.
01:05:14You know, sometimes, you know, I got some kind of control.
01:05:18I got some kind of control.
01:05:20But then, uh...
01:05:21I got a little profile.
01:05:23I should have a little profile.
01:05:25I got a little profile.
01:05:27Have my brain breathe.
01:05:29Just have it breathe.
01:05:31I'm just gonna stand here and be invisible.
01:05:34I'm coming right at you.
01:05:36It's pretty advanced.
01:05:37Basically, it's 14 megajams of slapping.
01:05:39I was perfecting a different playlist every day,
01:05:41but then we got these Mexican dudes
01:05:43that would come in here and swamp the field.
01:05:45Hey, Coach!
01:05:46Coach, you're gonna love this.
01:05:48Well, sit down.
01:05:49Wake up.
01:05:50Wake up.
01:05:51Come on.
01:05:52Oh, this beauty right here is Joaquin.
01:05:54Thumbs up, Joaquin.
01:05:55Hey, Coach.
01:05:56He's my landlord.
01:05:57Pay him off with suntans.
01:05:58Your time's up, buddy.
01:05:59Get out!
01:06:00Hey!
01:06:01Hey, Brandy!
01:06:02Hey, girl.
01:06:03Girl.
01:06:04Brandy!
01:06:05I don't want to be anything.
01:06:06Hey, Coach.
01:06:07I don't want to be a picture.
01:06:08I got something special for you.
01:06:09Brandy, I need you to get a massage.
01:06:11A dear friend of mine.
01:06:13Coach.
01:06:14Listen.
01:06:15Hi.
01:06:16Hi.
01:06:17How are you?
01:06:18I'm fine.
01:06:19I just, uh...
01:06:21I was, uh...
01:06:25Coming in for a massage?
01:06:26I was just coming in for a massage, you know.
01:06:28Perfect.
01:06:29I know Gary.
01:06:30Yeah, he told me all about you.
01:06:34Yeah.
01:06:35Yeah, he told me to take real good care of you.
01:06:38Okay.
01:06:39I had a pretty stressful night.
01:06:40You know what?
01:06:41I was, uh...
01:06:43socially.
01:06:45And I got very tense.
01:06:47Okay.
01:06:48I developed a sort of...
01:06:50kind of tightness.
01:06:52My shoulders.
01:06:53Okay, you want to get a little bit comfy?
01:06:55Maybe so I can see those knots a little bit better?
01:06:58Come on.
01:06:59It'll be fun.
01:07:01I'm sorry, but I don't...
01:07:03What is it?
01:07:04It's the services we offer.
01:07:05I can just show you if you'd like.
01:07:08You're going to do the massage?
01:07:09Of course.
01:07:10And then you can do me.
01:07:12What do you think?
01:07:14Have some fun.
01:07:15Well, what's on it?
01:07:16Yeah, what's on it?
01:07:17Anything you want.
01:07:19Some sensual stimulation.
01:07:21There's a gentleman's massage,
01:07:22but I think you would probably want something a little bit...
01:07:26I am.
01:07:27Where are you going?
01:07:28I'm sorry.
01:07:35Coach!
01:07:36Coach!
01:07:37Manglehorn!
01:07:38Coach!
01:07:39Come on, Coach!
01:07:40Manglehorn, come on!
01:07:41Coach!
01:07:42Coach!
01:07:43Manglehorn!
01:07:44Stay away from me, Gary!
01:07:45Who do you think I am?
01:07:46You had to put me in a room with a lady like that?
01:07:49Coach!
01:07:50Who do you think I am?
01:07:52Damn!
01:07:53You don't know who I am!
01:07:55Oh, Coach.
01:07:58Manglehorn!
01:08:00God damn it, I just wanted to make you happy, Coach.
01:08:02Come on.
01:08:03Come on.
01:08:04Coach!
01:08:05Coach, why'd you break my lamp?
01:08:06I broke your lamp!
01:08:08You don't know why?
01:08:09You don't know why I broke your lamp?
01:08:11I'm sorry.
01:08:12I'm sorry, Coach.
01:08:13I'm sorry.
01:08:14That's making fun of me.
01:08:15I wasn't making fun of you.
01:08:16Why'd you send me in there?
01:08:17I just tried to...
01:08:18Why'd you send me in there?
01:08:20You don't know better?
01:08:22Huh?
01:08:23Why?
01:08:24Why?
01:08:25Why did you do that?
01:08:26Sorry, Coach!
01:08:27Sorry, Coach!
01:08:28You look fine.
01:08:29Get up now and get away from the car.
01:08:33I thought you wanted a massage, Coach.
01:08:35Yeah, listen.
01:08:37Right now, I hate you.
01:08:44I'm pulling out!
01:08:53Why do you hate everyone?
01:08:56Why do you hate everyone, Coach?
01:09:04Listen, girl.
01:09:06Coach is a good man.
01:09:08He didn't mean none of that.
01:09:10He's a man of miracles.
01:09:13I remember once we were playing.
01:09:15Coach was like...
01:09:16We wanted to call the game for rain.
01:09:19And he was like,
01:09:20Keep playing, keep playing, keep playing.
01:09:22Thunder and lightning bolts came down.
01:09:26There was this little dog off to the side by the dugout.
01:09:29And I remember a little bolt of lightning just hit him,
01:09:32just lit him up.
01:09:33All his fur just went up.
01:09:35Dog coming down to the side,
01:09:38and Coach just bent down on his knees.
01:09:40Just put his hand out, just pat it out in front.
01:09:43Fire goes right out.
01:09:44He takes his hand up,
01:09:45and there's a flame shooting up from his palm.
01:09:47He just looks me in the eyes and goes,
01:09:48Happy birthday.
01:09:50Just like that.
01:09:53He's a special man.
01:09:57Stuff like that never leaves you, you know?
01:10:00Yeah.
01:10:02Things like that don't come every day.
01:10:11Fire!
01:10:29You don't look so good, kiddo.
01:10:32No, I'm okay.
01:10:40I'm in a bit of trouble, Dad.
01:10:43What happened?
01:10:44Kylie okay?
01:10:45Yeah, Kylie's fine.
01:10:47You got anything to drink?
01:10:51Your house smells like trash, Dad.
01:10:54Well, that's nice to hear.
01:10:59Okay.
01:11:00What's going on?
01:11:04I'm being investigated.
01:11:07Investigate?
01:11:10Well, what'd you do?
01:11:11Something illegal?
01:11:12No.
01:11:13The people that invest with me,
01:11:15they know there's a risk.
01:11:17I took what was fair.
01:11:18I do all the work.
01:11:19They don't do anything.
01:11:21Don't spit shine yourself to me.
01:11:23I know what's going on.
01:11:24You don't know what's going on, Dad, okay?
01:11:29Okay.
01:11:32So where'd I go wrong with you, Jacob?
01:11:37From the beginning.
01:11:39Oh, shut up.
01:11:41You want to make me a villain, go ahead.
01:11:44But I was there.
01:11:45You know it.
01:11:46I was taking you to school,
01:11:48back and forth every day,
01:11:50doing your homework at night for you,
01:11:53coaching you at baseball.
01:11:55You forget,
01:11:56because it's convenient to forget those things.
01:11:58I know.
01:12:00It was tough.
01:12:01I thought having a baby
01:12:02was going to make Beatrice happy.
01:12:04It didn't.
01:12:05It didn't work out.
01:12:06It made things worse,
01:12:07and it was tough.
01:12:08But people got it a lot tougher.
01:12:10And you did all right, didn't you?
01:12:13Yeah.
01:12:14You followed your own walk down that road,
01:12:17even when I said don't do it.
01:12:19Yeah, that's right.
01:12:20I'll drink to it, too.
01:12:21I'll drink any day of the week to it.
01:12:23Yeah.
01:12:24Because I was right.
01:12:26I didn't approve, and I was right.
01:12:28Okay.
01:12:29Now what happened?
01:12:30You got everything you wanted.
01:12:31Yeah.
01:12:32Your nice houses.
01:12:33You got your nice fancy cars.
01:12:36All those fancy people.
01:12:38And what happened to you?
01:12:39Turned you into a shark and a liar.
01:12:43That's what it did for you.
01:12:45I'm just telling you like it is.
01:12:49You know, I'm no saint, believe me.
01:12:52I'm just being honest with my son.
01:12:59I'm asking for help, Dad.
01:13:01Help?
01:13:02What kind of help?
01:13:04I got a pull-out sofa in the house.
01:13:07You want that?
01:13:08You want to stay here?
01:13:09I don't want your sofa.
01:13:11You know what I want?
01:13:12It would be great if you could be a father.
01:13:17What is that?
01:13:19How about that?
01:13:21It could be okay, Jacob.
01:13:23It could be good, Jacob.
01:13:24It could be okay.
01:13:25It could be okay.
01:13:26Is that what being a dad is?
01:13:27Yeah.
01:13:28It's okay?
01:13:29Yeah.
01:13:30Okay, it's okay.
01:13:31It's okay.
01:13:33You know, I don't know you.
01:13:35You pop in, you pop out.
01:13:37I mean, every time when I see you,
01:13:39it's like changing channels.
01:13:43Most of the time, it's static.
01:13:47Everything is off, like a horse hop or something.
01:13:51I don't even know what you're saying.
01:13:53You talk in a language I don't know.
01:13:58My assets are frozen.
01:14:01They need some money.
01:14:04I don't have money.
01:14:06Come on.
01:14:07Money?
01:14:08Why don't you sell that time machine you got out there?
01:14:11Come on, Dad.
01:14:12I'm not asking for much.
01:14:13I don't have money.
01:14:15Fanny's in the hospital.
01:14:17Who the hell's Fanny?
01:14:19Fanny's my kitty cat.
01:14:21She swallowed a key.
01:14:23She's getting operated on.
01:14:25Are you kidding me?
01:14:26No, I'm not.
01:14:27Why would I kid you?
01:14:28I'm standing here, and I'm telling you I need help,
01:14:30and you call me a cat?
01:14:31A cat?
01:14:32That's right.
01:14:33Operation costs a lot.
01:14:35So I don't have anything.
01:14:36You know what?
01:14:37Kylie's mom's not talking to me.
01:14:38I don't have anyone to go to, so I go to you.
01:14:40I go to my dad.
01:14:41I'm here.
01:14:42I don't want to be here.
01:14:43I don't have anyone either.
01:14:44Who do I have?
01:14:46When you choose this life, there is no one.
01:14:49It's only you.
01:14:52Every man for himself.
01:14:54And let me tell you something.
01:14:55When you're sitting there, wherever you are,
01:14:57in a dark room, suffering with the pain, guess what?
01:15:03There's still no one.
01:15:05No one answering the phone.
01:15:11No one responding to the letters you send.
01:15:15You're invisible.
01:15:18We're invisible.
01:15:27You're invisible.
01:15:32You ever tell you this story about me and my father, we had that fight before school?
01:15:59It's stupid I came downstairs
01:16:02He's sitting there in the dark, and he's tinkering with this metal box
01:16:07There's no coffee made
01:16:09So I make a comment and he flips out. I just start screaming at me screaming his head off into a chair through the window
01:16:16Yeah, he drove to television. I mean he's swinging at everything he didn't
01:16:21didn't swing at me and
01:16:24Anyway, I leave for school
01:16:26He doesn't say goodbye. He doesn't say goodbye even when he's not angry. I'm walking down the street, and I hear him in the house
01:16:33screaming
01:16:34Hello
01:16:39Hear it all the way down the block
01:16:43Anyway, I go to school
01:16:45I get out of school. It's like 180 degrees that day. I get home
01:16:49Mom's there. She's happy. I'm thinking did she see the kitchen. How could she be happy I left and it was a mess
01:16:56and I
01:16:58Walk into the kitchen, and there is no trace man. There is no trace of this rage
01:17:04Everything's fixed
01:17:06It's not broken the cabinets are fine
01:17:08He put his hand to the TV, the TV was working
01:17:10It's like it never happened
01:17:12He gets home, we're all sitting around the dinner table in the kitchen
01:17:16He doesn't say anything to me
01:17:18All he says is
01:17:20Rough morning
01:17:22That's all he says
01:17:25That's all he says, rough morning
01:17:27I don't know how I'm doing
