00:00Some of the NATO leaders have expressed concern about the president.
00:07Some of the NATO leaders have expressed concerns about the president.
00:12The leader of Poland, for example, has said he believes the president should step down.
00:16Of course, Poland is a country that has particularly high stakes in the continuation and the strength
00:23of NATO.
00:24All right.
00:25So a couple of things.
00:26Look, I'm going to let world leaders speak for themselves.
00:32And I've shared this before, and I've said moments ago, he's had – world leaders have
00:36seen him, obviously, in action.
00:37He's had personal engagement with them.
00:38You have German Chancellor Schulz, who said, I think that Joe Biden is someone who is very
00:46clear, who knows exactly what he is doing, and who is one of the most experienced politicians
00:51in the world, especially when it comes to international politics.
00:54I've had the prime minister of Israel, Netanyahu.
00:56I've had more than a dozen phone conversations, extended phone conversations with President
01:01Biden.
01:02He also came on a visit to Israel during wartime, which is a historic first, and I found him
01:06very clear and very focused.
01:08Look, again, he's made the alliance much stronger, and that's because of what this president
01:15has been able to do.
01:16I'll give you one more.
01:17Brett Merger recently did an interview about the five-hour stretches the president spent
01:22in the Situation Room with – that he spent in the Situation Room with the president,
01:26seeing his judgment on full display, handing incredibly difficult situations.
01:31So – and you've heard from the chair of Joint Chiefs, Mark Milley, who spent hours
01:35with President Biden every week to speak to his – to speak to last year when he retired,
01:40saying – engage with him frequently and alert sound, does his homework, reads the
01:45papers, reads all the read-ahead material, and is very, very engaged in issues of every
01:51kind, serious matters of war and peace and life and death.
01:54That's what I've experienced.
01:55That's what many of my colleagues have experienced.
01:57And this is what also world leaders have experienced themselves in those personal engagements.
02:01I think the concern is that for a lot of these leaders, they hadn't seen him in a while,
02:09so when they saw him before versus when they saw him recently, there was a big change.
02:14Hold on a second.
02:16G7 world leaders were there.
02:17He engaged with them.
02:19He interacted with them.
02:20Normandy, there were world leaders who were there.
02:23He engaged with them.
02:24He interacted with them.
02:25And so he has seen world leaders.
02:27He has engaged with them.
02:28And so now he'll get to do that again at the NATO summit.
02:32And so he's looking – the President's looking forward to doing that.
02:35I think it's going to be an important moment for all of us.
02:38And I mean, look, guys, we are stronger and have stronger relationship with our partners
02:44and allies because of what this President did.
02:46And with age brings experience and wisdom.
02:50And that's what we have seen with this President, because he was a senator for 36 years, because
02:55he was vice president for eight years.
02:56And I think that matters.
02:58That wisdom and that experience that the President has brought has been important and an important
03:02factor as we talk about world leaders and what he's been able to do.
