00:23initiated projects under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.
00:31and some of them, Angelique, will benefit in the coming years.
00:40At the last State of the Nation Address of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.,
00:44the Build Better More Program of the DOTR was included in the highlight of his visit to the country.
00:49And now, the President's zone is getting closer.
00:52Where is the DOTR located in the Build Better More Program?
00:55Where, according to the President, 83 percent of this will be the construction of roads, bridges, seaports, airports, and mass transports.
01:04Earlier, Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista laid the foundation of their agency for the BBM Program.
01:12According to Angelique, there are many infrastructure projects being done by the DOTR,
01:18most of which were done by the previous administration.
01:22The first one, Angelique, is the continuous construction of the North-South Commuter Railway or NSCR.
01:28This is a 147-kilometer railway that runs from Clark to Calamba, Laguna.
01:34Angelique hopes that this project will provide a better service for transportation
01:39that will help in the development of the economy, especially for those who are working and looking for a job.
01:48The construction is ongoing.
01:51Our contractor is a Spanish group.
01:56And we're working closely with them.
01:59So far, we're working on time.
02:01When is the target completion?
02:03The target completion of our North-South Commuter Railway is by 2029.
02:09Although, we're expecting that we will have partial operations by 2027.
02:19Angelique, aside from this, the construction of the Metro Manila Subway Project is also ongoing.
02:27This is a 33-kilometer underground railway system that will start there in Valenzuela.
02:33It has state-of-the-art train sets that can carry more than 2,000 passengers per train.
02:39For now, Angelique, the physical progress of the project is at 14%.
02:43And it is expected that it will be fully operational by 2029.
02:47The fund is estimated at Php 488.5 billion for the project,
02:52which was funded by the official development assistance from the Joyca and the government.
02:58Our achievements here are that the tunnel boring machines started their operations.
03:07For now, we have four tunnel boring machines whose operations are almost 24 hours.
03:16Within the year, it will be six.
03:19And in the coming years, there will be up to almost 19 tunnel boring machines working 24 hours to complete the construction.
03:34Angelique, Bautista also sold the Ports Development in the country,
03:37where there are many changes in the 700 ports in the country with the help of the Philippine Ports Authority.
03:44On the other side, there are many projects being done here,
03:49such as the modernization and improvement of the existing airports.
03:52And one of the big projects that is expected to happen this year is the modernization of Manila International Airport.
04:02The modernization of Manila International Airport should be done immediately so that the experience of our passengers will be comfortable.
04:14By September 13 or September 14, our private proponents will take over.
04:22They will invest almost $3 billion to improve our existing facilities in Manila International Airport.
04:34The capacity will increase from 32 million up to 62 million.
04:40This is a huge improvement.
04:44Angelique, aside from the projects that I mentioned,
04:48the PUV modernization program is also continuing.
04:53After the consolidation part, the route rationalization will continue.
04:58The DOTR promised that it will continue for the benefit of the riding public.
05:04Angelique.
05:05All right. Thank you very much, Ryan Lesigas.
