00:58Hello, everyone, I'm Mike O'Malley.
01:00Welcome to the Extreme Arena, home of Nickelodeon Guts,
01:03the action sports show where kids live out their greatest sports fantasies.
01:06Today, our players will be competing in four spectacular events,
01:09and after that, they'll get a chance at tackling our radical rock, the aggro crag,
01:14where almost anything can happen.
01:16The player with the most points at the end of all of our events is the winner,
01:19and he or she will be able to take home a glowing piece of our awesome rock.
01:24Now, remember, all of our events here on Guts are specifically designed with our players' safety in mind.
01:29They will be wearing safety equipment,
01:31we'll have a professional stunt director and stunt spotters with them at all times,
01:35so please, do not try this at home.
01:38Now, the basketball game's ready to start,
01:40and you're squaring off for a jump ball with Patrick Ewing.
01:43Yeah, Patrick Ewing.
01:44Your teammates are counting on the tip.
01:46Can you do it?
01:47Well, on Guts, we'll increase your odds with an elastic cord jump ball,
01:50a new elastic sports event on Guts.
01:52Let's go to our referee, more quirk for the rules.

01:56Hey there, Mike.
01:57At the sound of my whistle, all three players will jump off the aerial bridge towards the center post.
02:02Players will have seven chances to tip the jump ball into their scoring zone.
02:06The player with the most jump balls in their zone wins.

02:11Then, on your mark, get set...
02:13All right, going up with elastic sports fantasy style.
02:18Looks like purple with the score on that one.

04:18It's really thrilling, and I guess you're genuine and pumped.

04:23All right, so let's go and see where we all stand on our leaderboard.

04:27Mike, first place in our events is worth 300 points.
04:29That goes to Chrissy in red.
04:31In second place with 200 points, Brian in blue.
04:33In third place with 100 points, Scott in purple.
04:38Yeah!
04:40Right now, it is time for an event we call Spill Your Guts.
04:44Brian the Basher Blankenship is a 13-year-old baseball all-star.
04:48And Brian isn't bashing the baseball into the outfield.
04:51He's drawing for the Basher Guts equals.
04:54Goin' nuts.
04:56And our next event is intimidating.
04:59It is a post-nuclear race that really gets in your face, folks.
05:04It is called Mad Max Frantic Dash Through a Cataclysmic World
05:08with a lot of surprises for our players.
05:10Our players will try to make their way through the junkyard,
05:13and then after that, make the first turn into the speed bumps.
05:16They make it into Pothole Pass,
05:19and then their final turn right through the dead-end crash finish.
05:24Let's go to Mo for the rules.
05:26Well, Mike, at the sound of my whistle, each player will race around the track.
05:29Players must go through or over every obstacle,
05:32and time penalties will be added for any violations.
05:35Best time wins.
05:37On your mark, get set...
05:39All right, so Brian, our blue player, is up first,
05:42and as he tries to gain some speed going into our first turn,
05:46he makes it around the second turn,
05:48just avoiding that broken barricade as he makes it over the speed bumps,
05:52bumping around into the third turn.
05:55And you can hardly see him as he makes his way through Pothole Pass,
05:58coming in for a crash finish through the dead-end.
06:00And look at him come across the finish line right there, folks.
06:03What a finish for Brian, our basher.
06:07Let's go to Mo for the results.
06:10Brian clocked in at 23.3.
06:12That includes a two-second penalty
06:14for going off the track at the very end of the race.
06:17All right, so Brian, with an excellent performance,
06:20he will watch Chrissy, who is going into this event in first place with 300 points,
06:25and she'll see what work she can do
06:27as she makes it around speed and balance extremely important.
06:31And it takes our players an incredible amount of poise and energy
06:35combining both of those while they try to make it around that track
06:39in the fastest time possible.
06:41Of course, our track is more than just a track.
06:43It's a track with many obstacles,
06:45and we'll see what Chrissy can do as she gets strapped in.

06:50Just one moment, Mike. Now we're ready.

06:54All right, and Chrissy hearing the whistle,
06:57but having some trouble starting as she tries to get her feet.
07:01This is not a normal, everyday vehicle, ladies and gentlemen,
07:05as she tries to make the turnaround.
07:07Doesn't hit anything on the barricade as she makes it over the speed bump.
07:11She's at 17 seconds right now, going into turn number three.
07:14The time to beat, 23.3.
07:16She makes it through pothole pass and coming in for a crash finish.
07:19She's hustling through the dead end.
07:22And arms in the air.
07:25So her hesitation at the beginning of that event
07:28possibly hurting her on her final time.
07:31Let's go to Mo and find out what her final time was.

07:43300 points, as I said, her going into this event.

07:56He's got the perfect ability to get in that bike and strap himself in
08:00and motor his way around that track as fast as he can.
08:04We'll see if Scott can hold on and come straight across that finish line

08:13All right, and so Scott beginning, no problem getting his started
08:17as he makes the turn through the junkyard, avoiding the tires.
08:20Let's see if he can avoid that barricade.
08:22Yes, avoids the broken barricade and making it through the speed bumps.
08:26Holding on and gaining speed as he comes through pothole,
08:29past the time to be 23.3.
08:31As I said, he could use a first place finish, and he may have it, folks.
08:35Coming across the finish line, straight on.
08:38Let's go to Mo and find out Scott's official time.
08:41Scott's official time was 24.3, including a two-second penalty.
08:46So that puts Brian in first place, Scott in second place, Chrissie in third place.
08:53And so Scott with a costly two-second penalty
08:57as he goes through the speed bumps right here
09:00and makes it through the third turn.
09:02He's steering a little bit off as he goes off the track right there
09:06and comes crashing through the finish.
09:10That two-second penalty, it hurt him.
09:12And Scott, that vehicle doesn't look like a normal everyday vehicle.
09:16Was it difficult to maneuver yourself in that?
09:18Yeah, it is kind of difficult because you've got to turn yourself,
09:20and if you turn too much, you'll go into the wall or something.
09:22So it was kind of hard.
09:23All right, let's see where our players stand now on our leaderboard.

10:01The Extreme Arena getting ready for our next event,
10:03but right now it's time for Spill Your Guts.
10:06Chrissie Neon Leon is a 14-year-old ice skater.
10:09When Neon isn't lighting up the ice with her fancy moves,
10:12she's flying through the air on a trapeze.
10:14For Chrissie, Guts equals spunk.
10:18Well, our next event is wild, and it's wet.
10:22It's Wave Runner, the ocean chase kayak race.
10:26Our players are going to get into a raft, and they've also got these oars.
10:30They're going to get a little wet.
10:31Let's go to Mo for the rules.
10:33Well, Mike, each of our players will paddle their kayak across the pool,
10:36making sure to go around the two gates.
10:38They must high-five the spotter at the end of the pool to end the race.
10:41Best time wins.
10:43On your mark, get set.
10:45All right, so they're in the raft, and they got that oar,
10:49but the waves are pounding all over our Guts pool.
10:54The wave fall, competing against our players
10:58as Brian tries to make it around the second pylon,
11:02moving his oar from left to right,
11:05steering himself and directing himself towards the spotter.
11:08He's all over the place, but coming in for the stretch
11:11and falling out of the pool.
11:13What a finish right there for Brian.
11:15Let's go to Mo and find out what Brian's official time was.
11:18Mo.
11:19Brian finished with a time of 24.7 seconds.
11:22All right, so 24.7 seconds as Brian sets the pace in Wave Runner.
11:27Looks like Chrissie is set and ready.
11:31On your mark, get set.
11:33All right, so Chrissie.
11:36She took first place in our first event, third place in our second.
11:40Let's see what she can do in Wave Runner.
11:42And initially having some trouble around that first pylon,
11:46but you can see good oar movement as from left to right
11:50she steers herself towards that second pylon.
11:53Needs to make it around the time to be 24.7.
11:56She needs to hustle if she's going to get in there.
11:58And the waves all over our pool,
12:01forcing our players as she comes in for the stretch.
12:04And let's go to Mo and find out what Chrissie's official time was.

12:08Chrissie finished with a time of 28.7 seconds.
12:11So Chrissie went into that event with 400 points in second place.
12:15Now, good time finish with her.
12:18And Scott is set and ready to go.
12:21On your mark, get set.
12:24All right, and so Scott, our purple player, getting into the raft next.
12:28And we'll see what he can do
12:30as he tries to maneuver himself around that first pylon
12:33and try to keep himself afloat
12:35as those waves pound our cuts pool
12:38and against the side of his raft,
12:40trying to make it around the second pylon.
12:42But you can see the waves tossing and turning him,
12:45his small craft, his small raft all over that pool.
12:49Tries to make it around that second pylon,
12:51trying to use his strength to motion himself past that pylon.
12:55You can see the wave ball in the corner acting up,
12:58creating those waves that are so hard to fight against
13:01as Scott making it around that second pylon,
13:04coming in for the final stretch
13:06and getting caught in that corner right there.
13:09Trying to maneuver himself out of that corner
13:12and come in and touch the spotter
13:14as he's coming in with the touch right here.
13:18Needs to come in. All right, there.
13:20Scott with the touch.
13:22Let's go to Mo and find out what his time was.
13:24Scott finished with a time of 56.3 seconds.
13:27That puts Brian in first place,
13:29Chrissy in second place, Scott in third place.

13:57When Scott isn't working out,
13:59he's working on keeping a straight-A report card.
14:02For SureShot, that's equals getting pumped.
14:05Getting pumped is what Scott will need in this event.
14:08Let's see if he lives up to his nickname, SureShot,
14:11because you can think about facing the entire defense
14:14of a championship lacrosse team.
14:17Yeah, you got to score because this is attack.
14:20What are you going to do?
14:21You're going to put an elastic cord in your back
14:22and see if you can leap over them.
14:23Let's go to Mo for the rules. Mo.
14:25Mike, at the sound of my whistle,
14:27all three players will have 60 seconds to score as many goals as possible.
14:31Players must bounce on the ground before they shoot,
14:33and the player with the most goals wins.
14:36Players, on your mark, get set.
14:39All right, so we see what our players can do in this elastic sports event.
14:42A fantasy coming alive as all three of our players score one on their first shot.
14:46Imagine being able to completely leap over the entire defense
14:50of a championship lacrosse team,
14:52leaving the goal wide open for you to score.
14:55Forty-four seconds left as you see Chrissy with nice form
14:58getting back up on the bridge.
15:00That's Scott SureShot Hayes in the purple,
15:02and then Chrissy in red,
15:05and Brian in blue, all scoring.

16:53Welcome back to Cuts where we are about to experience the ultimate thrill of victory.
16:58The aggro crag event coming up.
17:00That big mountain right there behind me.
17:02Our player is about to climb, but first let's go to Mo.
17:04After four events, Brian in blue is in the lead with 1,000 points
17:08with 900 points in second place.
17:11Chrissy in red and in third place with 600 points.
17:14Scott in purple.
17:15So that is looking where they stand.
17:16Now let's take a look at how they got there.
17:18And it all started off with a magnificent performance by Chrissy in jump ball,
17:24knocking all those balls into her place right there in the red section.
17:29And then coming back, Brian first place in our Mad Max event,
17:35madly making his way by crashing through our dead end finish.
17:42Take first place in that.
17:43And then coming back in Wave Runner was Brian again, making it by that pylon.
17:51Making a run, making it across, having some trouble in the water,
17:55making it past in that corner.
17:57Watch his paddle.
17:58Look at that awesome oar movement there and stretching,
18:02falling in the water on that.
18:03And then we go to attack.
18:05Where?
18:06Brian just missing with that shot right there.
18:09Put him in a tie with Scott as he makes that shot right there in attack.
18:14And Chrissy took first place in that event.
18:16Our players have been competing all day long.
18:20Strong competition by all of our players.
18:22And right now they are getting ready for our ultimate challenge,
18:24the Acro Crag event, that mountain right there behind me.
18:28And our players can encounter many obstacles en route to the top of that peak.
18:32Beginning at our 6-foot rock ledge starting line, Boulder Canyon,
18:36Our players can trigger obstacles like water blasts, avalanches, snow storms,
18:40loose ledges, rolling rocks, all while they try to climb to the top.
18:44And, of course, the sound and fury of a living mountain is enough to get them psyched up to climb.
18:48Let's go to Mo for the rules, Mo.
18:50Players will start at the sound of my whistle.
18:53Each player has an identical side of the mountain to climb
18:56and may not cross into another player's path.
18:58Now, during that climb, our players must light up each of eight targets
19:02located on their side of the crag.
19:04The first player to activate all of the targets,
19:06including the final one at the peak of the mountain,
19:08will receive first place points. Mike.
19:11All right. So as our players get ready to climb their identical portions of that magical labyrinth
19:17known as the Acro Crag, let me remind you,
19:19the points have skyrocketed here in this final event.
19:21Third place being worth 375 points.
19:24Second place, 550 points.
19:26First place, 725 points.
19:28The points are out of control in this final event.
19:30Who will get to the top of that Acro Crag first?
19:33We're about to find out.
19:34Mo, let's start this thing.
19:35Players, on your mark, get set.
19:38And they are off.
19:39As you see, Scott in purple making it up Boulder Canyon,
19:42en route to his first actuator.
19:44There's Chrissy hitting her first actuator and slipping.
19:46And there's Brian hitting his second actuator.
19:48He makes a turn and gets clasped in the snow.
19:50That's Brian in... I'm sorry.
19:52In purple, that's Scott.
19:54That's Chrissy in red trying to see through the smoke.
19:56Brian in blue trying to make it past the rocks.
19:59Looks like Chrissy and Brian.
20:01Folks, all our players are real close.

20:05Red's in the lead, folks.

20:16trying to make his way back up.

20:59at the top of the crag.
21:01The rocks were then falling on Brian.
21:03But Chrissy, who showed her jumping ability,
21:05gets to the top of that crag first,
21:08taking first place points worth 725 points.
21:13She showed you in jump ball how high she could jump.
21:16She showed you how fast she could get to the top of that crag.
21:18She won that event.
