00:00So, let me say this real quick.
00:02Yes, sir.
00:04To the white supremacy deal.
00:06If that's what Donald Trump truly believed, then why would he undo the 94 crime bill?
00:12Because when you did that, what you predominantly did is you cut short sentencing of black men
00:19because in the mid-90s, Joe Biden and the Democrats felt that they wanted to treat crack cocaine
00:24as a higher threat of punishment than any other illicit drug in America.
00:30He came in and he unwound that.
00:34If your whole goal is, I want to be supreme, whatever the case might be, why would you do that?
00:41You see what I'm saying?
00:43This is not against you, but I know what you're saying.
00:46It's really more for them than for you.
00:48But I think that people have to get past the narratives that come from media.
00:53Dr. Carson knows what happens when the media wants to have a narrative.
00:56I know what it is when the media wants to have a narrative
01:00because they just push that as opposed to actually digging into the context.
01:04My mother always raised me to say, to think, do not listen to what people are saying.
01:09You look at what people are doing.
01:12I think that in our community, we have to get past the narratives that come primarily from media
01:18and from people who have agendas.
01:20Let's be clear because a lot of people have agendas and look at what's actually happening on the ground.
01:25I'm going to give you another one.
01:27What's that one? Charlottesville.
01:29That's a good one.
01:30The Charlottesville one, oh, there's good people on both sides.
01:33What was never reported, never really talked about,
01:36is that he was actually doing a press conference on infrastructure that day.
01:41That was a 17-minute press conference.
01:44By the way, Joe Biden hasn't given a 17-minute press conference since he's been president.
01:48I'll give you that one.
01:4917-minute press conference, right?
01:52He just kept saying, I condemn white supremacy.
01:56He said it like six or eight times.
01:58In that speech.
01:59In that same presser.
02:00The pressers keep asking the same question.
02:02I know they're all here.
02:03I love you guys.
02:04They keep saying the same thing.
02:06He kept saying it until he said, look, what else do you want me to say?
02:09You have this person on that side, that person on that side,
02:12and then you have bad people on both sides, and we can't have any of this.
02:15And they took good people on both sides and ran with that for three years.
02:20Ignoring everything else.
02:22The clip's still on YouTube today.
02:24Which is the point that a lot of people, to the point of people coming around,
02:28particularly young people, that's what they're seeing.
02:31They've been told something, and now they're seeing it real for themselves,
02:36and they're saying, wow, he never said that.
02:38It's happened several times.
02:40And that's what people are going through now.
02:42I think people are seeing the things that they're being told were said, was said,
02:47wasn't really said that way, or wasn't really said the same way they're reporting it.
02:52I mean, I'm seeing it all the time in what I do all the time.
02:56People will come back to me and say, I heard you say this.
02:59And I have to go back and pull what I actually said to send it to the person and say,
03:04no, I never said that.
03:06So I think when you talk about creating a narrative,
03:08how do you answer the question I asked you to ask that?
03:12I want to hear from Mark.
03:14I want to hear from Rocky.
03:15I want to hear what they have to say.
03:16But I would say the answer to your question is making sure that when someone comes to you with that,
03:21you don't have to deconstruct anything.
03:23You only have to show them what was really said.
03:25Because Reagan was cast the same way Trump was cast,
03:31the same way George W. Bush was cast,
03:33the same way H.W. was cast.
03:35They all were cast as dumb, racist, and not qualified.
03:39The same three hits for all four people.
03:42All four.
03:43Reagan, Bush, H.W., and Trump.
03:45All Republicans were cast and attacked in the same verbiage used every single time they ran by the same media outlet.
03:53So you hit a good point.
03:54It is a good one now.
03:55Everybody remembers when they were going to –
03:59Then Kanye did it right after Katrina.
04:01George Bush doesn't like black people.
04:03He doesn't care about black people.
04:05And that was the narrative.
04:07Until it came out that W. and Michelle Obama have a good relationship.
04:12And now in today's media, it's, oh no, we like George W. Bush.
04:15He was great.
