Stocks soared then came down to Earth on Tuesday as investors digested the latest developments in President Donald Trump’s “Liberation Day” trade war, with the markets failing to sustain a recovery from historically bad losses over the last week, as China, the world’s second-largest economy, threatens to “fight to the end” with the U.S. over the soaring import duties.

00:00the you know the the bulk of the tariffs haven't gone into effect yet uh the 10 sort of universal
00:05tariff went into effect on april 5th um but the you know the the top line numbers we've seen
00:12you know looking at specific countries will go into effect until this wednesday what's interesting
00:16is that sort of any good that was shipped uh you know that were that will be put on a ship
00:21or a plane or however else it gets to the u.s before midnight on wednesday is not going to
00:27be subject to tariffs and so you're seeing sort of a rush to get things into the u.s beforehand
00:32uh you know we hear stories of like you know what should consumers be buying before then
00:37and it's kind of the same thing you're seeing with with uh you know suppliers and importers
00:40you know there was a report today that uh apple was um you know flying plane loads of iphones
00:46from india from its factories in india uh to the u.s and so we're not going to be able to see
00:52you know the actual numbers of that for some time just because you know a ship going from
00:56you know shanghai to the west coast of the u.s will will you know can take about a month to get
01:01here um but it's it's sort of seeing how companies are going to be uh responding to these tariffs and
01:08what they're trying to do to get in as many goods as possible um and then see how to how to price
01:12those things for people um and i think again it's kind of hard to tell right now but i've been trying
01:20to get a sense of uh you know how did the supply you know how does this affect the supply chains
01:25and when are we actually going to see the impacts of these tariffs sort of on the ground
01:29um
01:30we've been talking to each side of uh
01:33and then see if we if we're walking there we are going to get this a third same platform
01:38and we're attaining to the side of the ship and go yeah to first we'll uh Etiken
