00:24to some sectors towards a better, healthy, and productive life.

00:48President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. nominated the No Hunger Awards
00:51for the local governments that have contributed to the fight against starvation in their communities.
00:58The No Hunger Awards were nominated by the Department of Social Welfare and Development
01:03and the Galing Pook Foundation,
01:05where 17 finalists were recognized as the best-performing LGUs in the fight against starvation and malnutrition.
01:13To all the 17 finalists of this year's No Hunger Awards, I salute you.
01:17Each of you has already won and have been included in the prestigious list of nominees.
01:24The No Hunger Awards were given by the Barangays Commonwealth in Quezon City
01:28and Nagasikan in Santiago City, Isabela,
01:30as well as the Municipality of Asuncion in Davao del Norte,
01:34Palumpon, Leyte, and Bacnotan in La Union.
01:37While Kidapawan City in Cotabato is one of the awards
01:42and Cadiz in Negros Occidental, Mati City in Davao Oriental, and the province of Biliran.
01:48The Sustainable Livelihood Program funds were awarded to the winners,
01:54while the other finalists were awarded P1 million.
01:58In addition to President Marcos, the government continues to look for ways to fight starvation in the country.
02:04He also gave the Power of Unity and the Whole-of-Government Approach
02:09and the help of the private sector, non-profit organization, international community, and Filipinos against starvation.
02:16So let us move forward with determination, with compassion, and with purpose
02:21to build a Bagong Pilipinas where food is not only affordable but plentiful.
02:28Where every Bagong Pilipino leads a good, healthy, and productive life.
02:33President Marcos is the one leading the country in talking about starvation.
02:37However, he is also seeing potential to change the situation.
02:41This includes his contribution last year to Executive Order No. 44 or Walang Gutom 2027, the Food Stamp Program.
02:50Implemented through the DSWD, it provides monetary assistance for targeted beneficiaries
02:56to purchase food commodities from eligible partner merchant stores.
