00:44Is this a first for you Madam Mayor, burying a capsule?

01:01So we've got Madam Mayor, Saida Khatun, and we've got Headteacher, Headteacher Gerry Pugliese,
01:07and then Headboy and Headgirl here, we're just going to put a bit on for us, go on guys,
01:11go for it, cool.
01:24So what's gone in the capsule then Miss?
01:27All sorts of things hasn't it, oh gosh, memories, pictures of technology, come in sir, come
01:34in.
01:35Who have we got here then?
01:36I'm Paul Smythe.
01:37Go on Paul, snuggle in.
01:39He is our Curriculum Lead and the person who has coordinated all of these celebrations
01:47for our 70th anniversary.
01:48So yeah, that's what it's all about isn't it, 70 years of the school, on this site.
01:54So what's gone in there then Paul, what sort of stuff have we got?
01:57Lots of things really, there are memories from children past and present, we've got
02:01photographs of the school back when it was first built and now we've got pictures of
02:06technology, rewards, things that typify what happens at our school really, just to give
02:13people in the future a glimpse of the special place that it is.
02:18So what's the plan, will it have a little marker, a little plaque or a little something
02:22to say?
02:23Yes and we're also doing a commemorative book as well, to celebrate.
02:30Well that's nice.
02:31Well how was that then Saida?
02:32It was wonderful and the young people before, they told us about what they buried in there
02:38and their memories and you know in future when the next generation, their children or
02:44grandchildren might be opening these and they could come back when they're older and say
02:48we was here.
02:49Well what's your names then head boy and head girl?
02:51My name is Kia and my name is Lucy.
02:54So just think it might even be your children one day that are opening this, what do you
02:58think?
02:59That's weird to think about.
03:02It is isn't it, it is strange to think about but time goes very quick, you realise that
03:05when you get old.
03:06But have you enjoyed today doing the captures, has it been a good fun project?
03:10Camera and go.
03:11Hello we're school council.
03:12Pass it on.
03:13We meet to discuss ways that we can improve our school.
03:24We take what we have discussed to our classes.
03:30We also hear what their thoughts are too.
03:34Sometimes we meet with the headteacher to share our thoughts.
03:42The school opened its doors in the years 1953 to 1954.
03:47It is 2023 to 2024, that is 70 years.
03:54On this day, the day of the 70th anniversary, we are celebrating our events by putting them
04:02in a capsule for people to discover in the future.
04:07This is the 70th year of the school's existence.
04:12We wanted to mark it by giving children of the future a snapshot of what life at Tiverdell
04:18Hall was like today.
04:23Inside the capsule are photos of technology we use, a letter to the future, rewards, reflections,
04:36examples of praise, school values, hobbies.
04:47We commit these treasured things into the ground for those that come after us.
04:53We hope this will give them an idea of what it's like today.
05:02We hope that Tiverdell Hall continues to be a warm, kind and exciting place to be for
05:06generations to come.
05:11Thank you for joining us on this special occasion.
