00:00It's time for the show where your imagination fills in the blanks.
00:06It's Mad Libs.
00:08And now, here's your host, David Sedoni.
00:14What's going on, everybody?
00:18How's it going? Welcome to Mad Libs, the greatest word game in the whole wide world.
00:23A Mad Lib is a story that's missing a few words.
00:25And it's up to you to fill in all the blanks with your own creative and unusual words.
00:30What we're going to do here, we're going to have two teams competing in a series of mental and physical games
00:35that are designed to take that Mad Lib off the page and bring it to life right here on this very stage.
00:40You want to see it? I want to see it.
00:42Let's bring out the team.
00:50Come on over here, gang.
00:52All right, we are set to go. Let's find out who our players are going to be today.
00:56Start over here with the red team. How you doing, red team?
00:59Good.
01:00Ryan, tell me about yourself, dude. Do you have any pets?
01:02Yeah, a dog.
01:03What's the name?
01:04Chloe.
01:05That's a very nice name. Are you guys close? You guys good buds?
01:08That's pretty cool.
01:09Good to have you here today. Good luck to you, your teammates.
01:11Brooke, Brooke, how are you doing?
01:12Fine.
01:13Tell me about you. What do you want to be when you grow up?
01:15A marine biologist.
01:16Why a marine biologist?
01:18Well, I went to SeaWorld and I saw all the little dolphins and I just thought that I want to do that.
01:23That's cool. I want to help the dolphins.
01:25Good to have you here today. Good luck to you, red team.
01:27Let's meet the blue team. Blue team, how you doing?
01:30Fine.
01:31Good, good. Hi, Lindsay. How are you?
01:32Hi, Phil.
01:33Why don't you tell us, are you an athlete? What's your favorite sport? What do you play?
01:36Volleyball.
01:37What position?
01:38Back center.
01:39What does that do?
01:40Just gets the pass to the center so you can set it up and get it over the net.
01:45All right. Well, good to have you here today. Good luck to you.
01:47Your teammate's Marcus. How you doing, buddy?
01:49I'm doing fine.
01:50Do you like music, man?
01:51Oh, yeah.
01:52What kind of music are you into?
01:53Well, my favorite is jazz, but I also like R&B and rap.
01:57Jazz musician. Now, do you play any instruments?
01:59Oh, yeah. I play the trumpet and the tenor saxophone.
02:02Oh, that's cool. All right. Well, give it up to our teams. Give them, wish them good luck today.
02:07All right, I hope you guys are ready to play because today we're going to put dynamite in your dictionaries.
02:11We take these two teams to compete to try and earn points.
02:14Those points are going to move them to the maximum Mad Lib.
02:17You get to the max, you have a chance to win a trip to the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium.
02:24That's a great trip. That's cool.
02:28Now, what we like to do to kick things up here on Mad Libs is let you and you at home get involved.
02:33How do we do that? We have you give us the first Mad Lib.
02:37Let's check out our viewer Mad Lib.
02:42Hi, I'm Molly. I go to Venture Vista School.
02:46Here's my Mad Lib sidewalk detail.
02:49Our front sidewalk keeps me busy all year.
02:52And this summer, I have to sweep the grass.
02:55In the fall, I have to rake the snakes.
02:58And most importantly, in winter, I have to shovel the compasses.
03:02So no one slips and breaks their tonsils.
03:05Good luck.
03:08All right, well, Molly sounds like she's got some interesting jobs on her front sidewalk.
03:13We're going to take Molly's words and turn them into a game for these guys.
03:18Let's go. Come on.
03:22All right, well, like our viewer Molly said, we're going to be doing a little sweeping on the sidewalk.
03:26And to sweep, what do you need? You need a broom.
03:30Got to have your broom. Thanks a lot.
03:33Molly, you take your broom, you come over here, and you sweep your rats and your snakes.
03:39You sweep them over here towards the guys.
03:43The guys are going to be standing right here on the compact discs with their shovels.
03:47They're going to take their shovels, throw them up towards the ceiling.
03:50The team that gets the most rats and snakes on the ceiling in 45 seconds is our winner.
03:56You get 20 points. You guys ready to go?
03:58Let's get set up. Players, get in their positions.
04:00Guys on their brooms, guys on their shovels. Girls, do me a favor.
04:03Don't hit me in the face with the brooms, okay? All right, good.
04:06Ready? 45 seconds up on the clock.
04:10On your mark, get set, go!
04:16Red team's got one rat.
04:25Blue team, got to throw them up there hard. Make sure they stick.
04:31Still won nothing. There we go. Now we got a tie.
04:36Throw it hard, Marcus.
04:38That one just didn't quite make it to the ceiling.
04:42There's another one for the red team.
04:45Marcus with a great catch and recovery.
04:48Now he's got two. Three for the red team.
04:53Can the blue team catch up? They're down by two.
04:59That's it. Out of time. Out of time. Out of time. That's it.
05:02Come on over here, girls. Let's take a look and see how we did.
05:05We'll start over here with the blue team.
05:06You guys ended up with one, two, three hanging snakes.
05:10And then over here with the red team, we got two rats, two snakes.
05:14That equals four. That means the red team is our winner.
05:17Great job, red team.
05:19All right, I'll tell you what. Let's take a look at the scoreboard right now.
05:21Red team, you got the first 20 points of the day.
05:23You got 20. Blue team, no points yet, but don't worry about it.
05:26We're going on to Matter Than You,
05:27where everyone's got a chance to get some more points.
05:29Let's go. Come on.
05:38All right. Well, we're going to find out who's madder than who in matter than you.
05:43Who's madder than who in matter than you.
05:45All right. You guys, the key to being an expert Mad Libber, what do you got?
05:48You need a gigantic vocabulary.
05:50The more words that you have, then the more options you have to fill in all the blanks.
05:53And you're going to have a lot of blanks in this game,
05:55because how it works is I give you a category.
05:58Then you have to spit out as many words as you can that fit into the category.
06:02Each time you throw out a word, you throw the hot potato over to your opponent.
06:06Your opponent spits out a word, throws the hot potato right back.
06:09We keep going until you run out of words.
06:11When you run out of words, the category's over and the other team gets five points.
06:15But remember, you cannot repeat another player's answer
06:18or a different form of the same word.
06:20Okay? We're going to have two minutes to go through as many as we can.
06:23Let's have the girls go first.
06:25Guys, you get in positions. Here comes your first category.
06:28Ready?
06:30Kinds of cookies. Go.
06:33Chocolate chip.
06:34Oreo.
06:35Oatmeal.
06:37Double step Oreo.
06:39Sugar.
06:40Repeat. That's a form of the word, although it was very creative.
06:43But it was still a form of the word, so that's five points for the blue team.
06:46Guys, you're in next category. Ready?
06:49Circus acts. Go.
06:51Clown act.
06:55Wow, Ryan, we got to take you to the circus, buddy.
06:58All right, that's five points for the blue team.
07:01Next category.

07:05Orange juice.
07:06Juicy fruit.
07:09Juicy fruits and gum, I think they were looking for juices,
07:12so they're not going to give that one to you.
07:14The judges took that one away.
07:16That's five points for the blue team.
07:18You'd have to squash a lot of juicy fruit to get some juice out of it.
07:21Next up, guys, we're going to words that rhyme with bus.
07:26Go.
07:27Cut.
07:30Bus.
07:31Rope.
07:32Five points for the blue team again. All right, they're catching up.
07:35Next category. Ready?
07:36Household pets. Go.
07:38Cat.

07:45Hamster.
07:47Tarantula.
07:50Chameleon.
07:54That's not it. We have to go to the zoo for more.
07:56That's five points for the red team.
07:57Going on, next category. Ready?
07:59Olympic events.
08:00Olympic events. Go.
08:02Track.
08:03Field.
08:04Swimming.
08:06Pole vaulting.
08:07Diving.
08:09Hurdling.
08:10Five more points for the blue team.
08:11Girls, in here we go.
08:12Next category.
08:13This one is famous women.
08:15Famous women.
08:16Go.
08:17Alicia Silverstone.
08:18Claire Danes.
08:20Jennifer Aniston.
08:21Amelia Earhart.
08:26Five points for the red team, and we are out of time.
08:29That's it.
08:30Everybody come on in.
08:31Let's take a look at the scores.
08:33We did great.
08:34Blue team, you guys got on the board.
08:35Way to go.
08:36Matter of fact, you're all the way up to 25 points.
08:38Blue team, nice job.
08:39Red team still keeps the lead, though,
08:41but just barely with 30 points.
08:43All right.
08:44Good job, red team.
08:45We got a tight game.
08:46Boy, it's going to be fun.
08:47Come on back, because we're going to be going to the mega stunt next
08:50when these guys have to do some mega huge stuff.
08:53See you in a bit.
08:55Welcome back to the Land of Mad Libs.
08:58Let's take a look at the score board.
09:00Blue team's got 25 points.
09:01Red team in the lead, just barely with 30 points.
09:05Welcome back to the land of Mad Libs.
09:18Let's take a look at the scoreboard.
09:19Blue team's got 25 points.
09:21Red team in the lead just barely with 30 points.
09:25Nice, tight game.
09:26All right.
09:27Well, it's time to go fishing Mad Libs style.
09:30In this Mega Stunt, our players are going to slide down into Lake Mad Libs.
09:34That's where they're going to go for what else?
09:36Cactus.
09:37They get the cactus.
09:38They climb up the cargo net.
09:40Now, the easiest way to climb up the cargo net is to use both hands.
09:43So, you take your cactus with a word on it, and you put it on your head just like that.
09:48When you get it to the top, that's when your partner's going to rip the cactus off and bring it over here,
09:53put it into the Mad Lib wall.
09:55The team that gets all four words into the Mad Lib wall first completes the Mad Lib.
10:01We use their words, and they win the Mega Stunt and get the 20 points.
10:05You guys got it?
10:06Let's get in positions.
10:08Ready to go.
10:10On your mark.
10:12Get set.
10:13Go!
10:17Down into the lake.
10:18There they go.
10:22Ripped off, and now Marcus gets to slide down, and Ryan slides down.
10:30The lake's a little slippery, and that net can get trippy.
10:35It's a close game.
10:39Now, the blue team needs a rep now.
10:42It looks like the red team is getting their heavy thing.
10:45Green, green.
10:46All right, and he's one blue now.
10:48And one heavy thing for the blue team.
10:50Green, green, green.
10:51Someone's slide is going to be close.
10:53It's going to be close.
10:55That's it.
10:56That's it, that's it.
10:58Oh, man, Marcus is still caught in the cargo net.
11:01He can't get out.
11:03That was so close.
11:05Did you see the end of that, man?
11:06By that much, the red team got their word in.
11:09Come over here, guys.
11:10Let's take a look at your words.
11:11Wow, that was close.
11:13Slipping and sliding.
11:14How was it?
11:15Slippery in there?
11:16Yeah.
11:17It looked like it.
11:18Your words you got.
11:19Let's see.
11:20We got tumbleweeds.
11:21We got Scotch tape.
11:22Then we have appendix and Hulk.
11:26Well, now what we're going to do
11:27is we're going to take these four words
11:29and put them into the Mad Lib wall.
11:31You guys ready to go?
11:32Yeah.
11:33Follow me.
11:34Whoo!
11:37All right, red team.
11:39Come over here.
11:41And let's see how those words fit into the wall.
11:44One more slide.
11:45Careful, bro.
11:46All right, let's see the Mad Lib.
11:49It's called yo-yo tricks with your words inserted.
11:53You hold a yo-yo by its Scotch tape.
11:56Let it drop until it hits your tumbleweeds.
11:59Once you master the yo-yo,
12:00you can do cool tricks like walking the Hulk
12:04or around the appendix.
12:06Ow, that would hurt.
12:08Around the appendix.
12:09I don't know about that.
12:10Blue team, why don't you guys come on down here and join me.
12:13The red team did good.
12:14They won the stunt.
12:15They're going to keep the lead at this point.
12:17And now we're going to take both teams
12:19after they slip and slide through the lake
12:21and mix it up a little bit.
12:22Let's go over to Mixed Up Mad Lib.
12:24Come on, everyone.
12:31All right.
12:32Now that we have everybody out of the lake,
12:34it's time to find ourselves a winner for today's game.
12:37Let's take a look at the scoreboard.
12:39Blue team, you have 25 points.
12:41Red team, in the lead still with 50 points.
12:44Got a great game.
12:47Now it's time to turn it up.
12:48This is where we go to Mixed Up Mad Lib.
12:50A Mixed Up Mad Lib is a sentence
12:51that already has a crazy word inserted.
12:53And it's up to you to buzz in and give me the correct answer.
12:57Each one's going to be worth 10 points.
13:00We play this game for one minute and 30 seconds,
13:02so there's no lead that cannot be overtaken,
13:04especially a small one like that, blue team.
13:07Just two or three questions.
13:08That's three questions.
13:09You guys got the lead.
13:10We're going to put that one minute 30 seconds up on the clock.
13:12Teams, get in positions.
13:14This is it.
13:15We're going to see who's going to the max.

15:40We're going to the match.
15:41All right, now,
15:43who's going to be giving the clues?
15:44Because that's a very important part
15:45of the Maximum Mad Lib.
15:46I will.
15:47Ryan, you're going to get the clues.
15:48Tell you what,
15:49I have the mystery envelope.
15:50This has the five words
15:51that make up the Maximum Mad Lib.
15:53What you have to do, Ryan,
15:54is you take these words,
15:55you get to choose
15:56which clue areas
15:57you would like to put the words in.
15:59That's very important.
16:00That's going to determine
16:01whether or not you guys
16:02have a good chance
16:03at winning the grand prize.
16:04So you take these,
16:05you leave us.
16:06Brooke, you stay here,
16:07and you stay there, too.
16:09Why don't you?
16:10Because when we come back,
16:11we're going to watch
16:12the red team
16:13go for the grand prize
16:14in the Maximum Mad Lib.
16:16¶¶
16:35Hey, welcome back to Mad Libs.
16:37Guess what?
16:38It's time to build
16:39the Maximum Mad Lib,
16:40the biggest Mad Lib of all.
16:42During our break,
16:43Ryan set the words
16:44in the different clue areas,
16:46a very important part of the Max.
16:48Let me tell you how it works.
16:49The Maximum Mad Lib
16:50has five blanks.
16:52Ryan's going to give the words
16:53down to Brooke,
16:54who's waiting anxiously
16:55for his clues.
16:57The clues are going to come
16:58from five different clue areas.
17:00This is how they work.
17:01First, you have Stuff It,
17:02which is where Ryan and I
17:03are right now.
17:04You got these marshmallows.
17:05You got to shove four of them
17:06in your mouth
17:07and try and say the word
17:08with marshmallows in your mouth.
17:10Then we come over here.
17:11This is Spell It.
17:12At Spell It,
17:13you take the ketchup
17:14and the mustard
17:15and you spell the word
17:16on this glass.
17:18This is Draw It.
17:19Stick your fingers in the goop
17:21and finger paint something
17:22that looks kind of like the word
17:24so your teammate can guess.
