00:00Well, thank you, everybody. The Congressional Hispanic Caucus is proud to stand with the
00:06President today as he announced these two executive actions that are going to impact
00:10families. And we know that today there are families that are crying tears of joy, and
00:16we'll have a sigh of relief in these executive actions to be able to keep families together.
00:22The Hispanic Caucus has been advocating for this for many months, starting with the letter
00:27that we sent to the President at the beginning of the year, and then we were right here at
00:32the White House, members of the CHC leadership team that are with me here today, came and
00:37spoke to the President, and this was our top ask, and say, please, Mr. President, we have
00:42to provide protections and relief for the spouses of U.S. citizens, people who've been
00:47here for a very long time. And as we heard today, those folks have to be here for ten
00:51years or more. The impact is going to be huge. We're talking about 550,000 families
00:58and children that will have an impact. We've heard from individuals, and we've seen individuals
01:05today that are going to directly benefit from this, who are saying, thank you, thank you,
01:10thank you. So today was a chance to thank the President for doing the right thing, and
01:15of course, the second piece of this was to give DACA recipients the ability to qualify
01:20for other visas. And so with that, there were so many partners. One of those partners
01:26was the chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, but also somebody who serves as the
01:35ranking member of the Judiciary Immigration Subprimella Jamble.
