00:00Four-star safety Amari Wallace has picked the University of Miami.
00:04He chose Miami by the way, over Auburn, Louisville, and LSU.
00:10I've also seen Florida listed in the mix for him before.
00:13So some good contenders out there for Wallace, but ultimately the five foot
00:1911, 172 pound four-star safety has chosen to stay at the crib.
00:25Uh, I mentioned, this is a four-star recruit.
00:27He's ranked by 24 seven sports as the 16th safety in America and the number
00:3322 overall recruit in the state of Florida.
00:35So this is, it's a really good player that Miami's keeping home.
00:38And some of the things that stand out about Amari Wallace, um, not only his
00:44range, how hard he hits for a fella his size, and he's only going to get bigger
00:50once he gets into college weight room, but the versatility, and if you've
00:54noticed something about the types of defensive backs that Miami has been
00:58recruiting over the past couple of years, if you can find a guy who can
01:02play safety and or nickel and or cornerback versatility is always
01:09at a premium for Miami.
01:11And this is a player, of course, Mario Cristobal really covets and
01:15defensive backs coach, Chavis Jackson and safety's coach slash defensive
01:20coordinator, Lance Guidry are big fans of Amari Wallace.
01:24He has decided to stay home.
01:26Um, so, and by the way, for, for the folks who may have missed a couple of
01:29the other recruiting centric episodes that we've done this week, um, I want
01:34to play for you guys real quick.
01:35This was the scouting report that our recruiting overlord, Brian Smith
01:39gave us this morning on Amari Wallace.
01:42He's a guy that was on there on the scene very early in his high school career.
01:45Miami and a bunch of other schools got involved with him.
01:48He's a free safety.
01:49I think he played nickel.
01:50He has the speed to do so.
01:52He's not the biggest guy in the world.
01:54He didn't gain a lot of weight after he got into high school,
01:56but it's his ability to run.
01:57How big he gets will dictate where he ends up, but I think he could
02:00be a nickel or be a free safety.
02:03And that's something the speed is one of those things that jumps off the page.
02:06When you watch Amari Wallace's highlight reel at Miami central,
02:09the speed jumps off the page.
02:10Also the instincts, um, had three interceptions this past season as a
02:15junior at central, including a pick six, uh, early on in the season.
02:19So he checks off a lot of these boxes, my friends.
02:22And Amari Wallace has announced tonight that he's a Miami hurricane.
