00:00Jeremy, it has been a long time.
00:02Jeremy?
00:03Jeremy, Josh.
00:04It has been a long time.
00:06Too long.
00:08It has been too long, I forgot your name.
00:11Okay.
00:12No, no, you know I love you, Josh.
00:14It has indeed been a long time.
00:17I was thinking about my Jeremy in the back, so as I was...
00:20Anyway, whatever.
00:21I'll take it.
00:22Things are happening.
00:23It's good to see you.
00:24It's good to see you.
00:25Good to see you.
00:26Two subjects.
00:27Yes.
00:28On immigration today, is the administration confident that U.S. citizenship and immigration
00:34services can handle possibly hundreds of thousands of new applications given the current backlog
00:40of other immigration applications?
00:42So, look, we have always said, and I said this at the top, like the way that we would
00:47love to move forward is in a more balanced, a balanced approach, obviously, and get that
00:52bipartisanship from Congress.
00:55The first day of his administration, as I've already stated, and I've stated this many
00:59times, we wanted to see a comprehensive immigration process, a legislation.
01:05That's what the President put forward.
01:07He wanted to see that.
01:08Congress never moved.
01:09And when they did decide to move on something, we worked in a bipartisan way.
01:12The former President told Republicans in Congress, Republican senators more specifically, and
01:16told them, don't move on this.
01:18Don't move on this because it's going to hurt me and help Joe Biden.
01:21And we had a bipartisan approach, which would have made the immigration system more fair
01:26and tougher.
01:28And we didn't move in that way.
01:30And so the President has said that he's going to take actions.
01:33He's going to take actions to secure the border, as he did with the executive order that he
01:37signed just about two weeks ago or so, and that he also wants to make sure we keep American
01:42families together.
01:44So, look, we're obviously going to hear from the President later today.
01:51And we believe that we can get this done.
01:53We believe it's an important part of the President's immigration policy.
01:59And keeping American families together, making sure that we are protecting American families
02:05is a priority for this President.
02:07And so we believe that this could move forward.
