The Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park has generated RM31bil in foreign investments in 21 projects for the government until October 2023. Companies operating there said they are capitalising on the highly-educated workforce and also creating thousands of jobs to the locals.

00:48is a special collaboration between the two countries.
00:51Also, this place has relatively rich mineral resources
00:54and the advantage of having good human resource.
00:59We looked at economic sectors that could support the region
01:28and this includes manufacturing, oil and gas and petrochemicals, agriculture,
01:34as it has been generally an agrarian society,
01:36tourism because of the natural endowments that are there,
01:39and human capital development.
01:41And all this is going to help to increase the employment opportunities,
01:45entrepreneurial opportunities for local parties to be suppliers.
01:49We also think that it will help local industries to move a level up
01:53because these are huge investments which need our local suppliers to also expand the operation.
