Malaysia, China tie-up to develop digital economy

Malaysia and China have joined hands once again for the development of the China-Malaysia Digital and Green Technology Industrial Park.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) (MBI) and the China Association for International Science and Technology Cooperation and China Harbour Engineering Co Ltd on Tuesday (July 16).

00:30met with Prime Minister Datu Seri Anwar Ibrahim
00:35and attended a series of celebration activities.
00:40A strategic, forward-looking,
00:43and detailed joint statement
00:47on the deepening of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership
00:51towards China-Malaysia Community with a Shared Future
00:56was issued by the two governments,
00:59which is a good reflection of the comprehensive consensus
01:03achieved by both sides in many cooperation fields.
01:09In addition, during the visit,
01:12Premier Li Qiang and Prime Minister Anwar
01:15witnessed the exchange of the MOU
01:18between the governments of the People's Republic of China
01:22and the governments of Malaysia
01:25on the Science and Technology People-to-People Exchange Program.
01:29So, today's summit is one of the important contents
01:34of the Science and Technology People-to-People Exchange Program.
01:39I believe that scientists and entrepreneurs from both countries
01:44will deepen their understanding of each other at the summit
01:50and jointly create a better life for the people of both countries.

01:59as it marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations
02:03between Malaysia and China.

02:19especially in science, technology and innovation.
02:23As we are aware, the rapidly changing landscape
02:26of technology driven by advancements
02:29such as Artificial Intelligence, AI,
02:32has significantly transformed how we operate and interact.
02:36While these technologies hold immense potential,
02:40they have also widened the gap
02:43in science, technology, innovation and STI development
02:46between developed and developing countries.
02:49Disparities in access to cutting-edge technologies,
02:53expertise and resources have become more pronounced,
02:57posing a significant challenge for equitable progress.
03:02However, through strategic partnership,
03:05we can work solidistically to bridge this gap
03:08by combining our resources
03:11and complementing each other's strengths,
03:14we can ensure that the benefits of technological advancements
03:18are shared more equitably.
03:20I strongly believe that this summit,
03:23which launches a series of collaborative projects,
03:26will serve as an excellent starting point
03:29to create a synergy that brings mutual benefits
03:33to all parties involved,
03:35ensuring that no one is left behind in the technology revolution.
