00:48Senua Saga Hellblade 2
00:59The follow-up to Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice, this long-awaited sequel is a treat to experience
01:04on Xbox, even if it does have some fumbles and a super short runtime.
01:09Apart from being touted as one of the best looking games around, Hellblade 2 is a deeply
01:13intense and emotional rollercoaster ride whereby Senua must venture across a mythological
01:18version of Iceland in hopes of stopping the Northmen and their nefarious schemes.
01:23The visceral combat and unique puzzles do feel quite similar to the first game, which
01:27doesn't always help this game to completely stand out from its predecessor.
01:31However, the incredible psychological elements at play via Senua's psychosis, especially
01:36through the binaural audio, have been ratcheted up, making for a tense and harrowing adventure
01:41through a dark land.
01:52Pal World
01:53Yes, by now we all know the whole Pokemon with guns thing, however Pal World really
02:07is so much more than that.
02:08It most definitely lifts plenty of ideas and systems from other games and series and
02:13just throws them into some sort of odd concoction, but strangely it all just works to great success.
02:19If video games are just meant to be fun, then Pal World nailed that to a T. Combining monster
02:25catching, third-person action combat, survival elements, farming elements, and plenty of
02:29open world exploration, Pal World always gives you something fun to do and work towards.
02:34Sure, it certainly feels strange to exploit your eponymous pals for resources and profits,
02:39but you gotta make a living somehow, right?
02:46Even though it can be a bit janky at times, the sense of overall fun and playfulness in
02:50Pal World easily makes it one of the most enjoyable games on Xbox.
03:03Pentiment
03:11Although no longer an Xbox console exclusive, this Xbox Game Studios published game is truly
03:17remarkable, both in terms of gameplay and aesthetics.
03:20While it's the immediately striking painting-esque art style that lulls you in, it's the richly
03:25rewarding point-and-click adjacent gameplay that will ensure you are hooked all throughout
03:29this adventure.
03:30Stepping into the shoes of journeyman artist Andreas Mahler, a series of murder mysteries
03:35begin to play out, with, yeah, you guessed it, Andreas thrown into all of the uproar.
03:40The game takes place in and around a semi-fictional Bavaria region, where you explore and chat
03:44with the locals.
03:45It's a uniquely strange hodgepodge of gameplay ideas, including detective work, RPG elements,
03:51and puzzle solving, that all seem to coalesce into a package bursting with creativity, thought-provoking
03:56scenes and plenty of fun along the way.
04:05Psychonauts 2
04:17It's pretty crazy to think that it took over a decade and a half for the follow-up to the
04:21beloved cult classic adventure platformer to arrive.
04:25The wait was certainly well worth it, seeing as Psychonauts 2 is one heck of a charming
04:29and enjoyable game.
04:30You once again play as Raz, a zany, psychic-confused character who finds himself at the Mother
04:35Lobe, the headquarters for the titular Psychonauts.
04:38It's here that Raz once again hops into the minds of other characters in order to
04:42solve their mental conundrums.
04:43It's these various minds that serve as the game's levels, where the game's incredibly
04:48creative depth from Double Fine Productions comes into play.
04:51Raz's psychic powers are just so much fun to use, whether that's battling the strange
04:56psychic goons and various enemies, or platforming around the colorful world to find secrets.
05:01You'll likely just have a big ol' smile plastered over your face all throughout this
05:05mesmerizing journey.
05:16Microsoft Flight Simulator
05:28The sheer staying power of Microsoft Flight Simulator over the years is quite remarkable.
05:33While certainly a niche experience, for those looking for realism and simulation-focused
05:37flight mechanics and gameplay, 2021's Xbox Series X version of Flight Simulator is truly
05:43extraordinary.
05:44This is not an easy game to get into, given the complexities of flying the incredibly
05:48varied aircraft.
05:49However, for those looking to learn the ropes, with the help of an in-depth tutorial, it's
05:54an experience whose rewarding nature is simply unmatched.
05:57From the downright gorgeous graphics, to the staggering number of locations to fly over
06:01and around, to the different handling models of all the aircraft, Microsoft Flight Simulator
06:06aims to keep you in the cockpit for the long haul.
06:18Hi-Fi Rush
06:19It's truly a travesty that Hi-Fi Rush's developer, Tango Gameworks, was shut down
06:31by Microsoft.
06:33This 2023 gem of a game takes your favorite parts of character-driven action-adventure
06:37games and infuses all of it with top-notch music, rhythm-based gameplay, and a cartoony
06:42cel-shaded sort of art style that will definitely stand the test of time.
06:46As character Chai explores Vandal-Aid technologies, everything around him pulses to the beat of
06:50the music, making the whole game world just feel alive and in step with the auditory experience.
06:56Chai is able to take on enemies with tons of hard-hitting combos that are only amplified
07:00by the beat, that is, if you can happen to keep up with it.
07:08Plus getting to hang out with Robot Cat 808, Quirky, Charming, and Brilliant Peppermint,
07:13the Magnificent Macaron, and more is always a real treat here.
07:17Hi-Fi Rush gets you right into its story and action, ensuring you are consistently propelled
07:21forward.
07:22Seriously, don't skip out on this one if for some reason you missed it.
07:34Starfield
07:35Sure, Starfield might not be the pinnacle, landmark experience from Bethesda that many
07:50were hoping for, especially when compared to the behemoth that is The Elder Scrolls
07:55Skyrim.
07:56However, there's no denying that the sci-fi epic is still a downright blast to play through.
08:00This action RPG lets you live out your space fantasy, replete with varied planets to explore,
08:05tons of weapons and skills, and numerous well-written characters and quests.
08:15Your fully customizable protagonist is the perfect avatar for your personal space adventure.
08:21While you can't freely fly around to most areas in the settled systems like many had
08:24hoped for and dreamed of pre-launch, it's still a real treat to hop into your very own
08:29customizable spacecraft and take part in space battles.
08:33Mix in an engaging sci-fi narrative, great moment-to-moment combat, tons and tons of
08:37customization, quirky characters, and a fleshed-out world, and you get an Xbox Series X game that,
08:43while definitely far from perfect, keeps you immersed all throughout its meaty runtime.
09:00Gears 5
09:09While Gears 5 might technically be an Xbox One game originally, there's no doubt that
09:14playing this acclaimed game in the venerable series on a Series X is the optimal experience.
09:19Gears 5's jaw-dropping visuals are still just as impressive today as when the game
09:23first launched, plus it plays and feels buttery smooth.
09:27If you happen to miss this entry in the series, you once again play primarily as Cate Diaz,
09:32with the game being set in the world of Serah.
09:34Cate and pals hope to restore power to an uber-powerful weapon system known as the Hammer
09:38of Dawn.
09:39The third-person cover shooting gameplay remains, but it's all been highly refined and polished
09:43here.
09:44Interestingly, Gears 5 opted for myriad open zones where you can freely explore, find a
09:49bunch of collectibles, and take on countless baddies.
09:52While the linear moments and the intense set pieces are still definitely the highs for
09:56this game, it's refreshing to see Gears try new gameplay tweaks.
10:00Don't worry, the tried-and-true Horde mode and traditional multiplayer are still in the
10:03package and offer bountiful over-the-top carnage and fun.
10:19Halo Infinite
10:20It's definitely been a rocky road for Halo Infinite since it launched back in 2021.
10:36What should have been a system seller for the Series X ended up sort of stumbling out
10:40of the gate, at least in the multiplayer department.
10:42However, nowadays Halo Infinite is in a fantastic state and offers a robust, meaty, and utterly
10:48engaging semi-open-world single-player campaign, as well as deeply rich and rewarding free-to-play
10:53multiplayer with tons and tons of content to dive into.
10:57You once again step into the shoes of Master Chief as he takes on the Banished, following
11:01up from the events of Halo 5 Guardians.
11:10The explorable ringworld of Zeta Halo is a great playground for traversal and destruction,
11:14especially because of Master Chief's fun grappling hook.
11:18The FPS combat is weighty and intense and makes each encounter with the Banished play
11:22like a dream.
11:23If for some reason you are still on the fence about Halo Infinite, or if you want to get
11:26yourself up to speed on all things Halo lore, you can always opt to dive into the excellent
11:31Halo The Master Chief collection for oodles of sci-fi FPS fun.
11:42Forza Horizon 5
11:53Now it's pretty darn crazy to think that one of the very best Xbox Series X games just
11:58so happens to be a racing game, but such is the case with the impeccable open-world racing
12:02juggernaut that is Forza Horizon 5.
12:05Playground Games knows a thing or two about creating distinct, vibrant, and lived-in racing
12:10experiences.
12:11Forza Horizon 5 takes place in a gorgeous rendition of Mexico, one littered with tantalizing
12:15mountainous vistas, bubbling volcanoes, arid deserts, quaint towns and villages, and mesmerizing
12:21beaches.
12:22It's a beautiful and sublime locale to host the titular Horizon event.
12:26Putting the pedal to the metal with a staggering variety of vehicles feels so freaking good
12:30in this game.
12:36The arcade-like controls paired with the excellent and varied race events in tandem with stellar
12:40audio design and visuals ensures that Forza Horizon 5 is the racing game that Series X
12:45players won't be able to get enough of.
12:48Whether you choose to just cruise across Mexico taking in the sights or participating in the
12:52high-octane Horizon race events, one thing is for certain, you will be having the time
12:56of your life.
