00:00The amendment to the Rice Tariffication Law was discussed in the first hearing of the House Speaker and the new Senate President.

00:10The cooperation in passing the bills was also discussed, but the charter change was not discussed.

00:20In a place in Malacañang, the leadership of the House of Representatives and the new Senate President met for the first time.

00:30House Speaker Martin Romualdez, new Senate President Chis Escudero, and majority leaders Sen. Francis Tolentino and Rep. Manuel Jose Dalipe were there.

00:42According to Romualdez, Chis Escudero and Romualdez agreed to look at their partnership and cooperation in passing the bills proposed by Administrator Marcos.

00:53It gives us the opportunity to align our priorities, being able to talk closely on what of the legislative measures we should prioritize and pass right away.

01:05So this is an opportunity for us, for both houses to deepen our working relationship with one another. So it's a good thing for us.

01:16According to Sen. Majority Leader Francis Tolentino, they agreed to look at the process of passing the bills.

01:24The first thing discussed was the amendment to the rice tariffication law in the House of Representatives.

01:31It was said that congressmen will lower the price of rice and will continue to help farmers.

01:37According to the Speaker, the Senate approved it yesterday.

01:41All 20 priorities of the Legislative Executive Development Advisory Council or LEDAC were approved by the House of Representatives.

01:50Ten more are pending in the Senate, including the National Citizen Service Training Program, Military and Uniformed Personal Pension Reform,

01:59the creation of the Department of Water Resources and Services, and the amendment to the Universal Health Care Act.

02:05According to Sen. Chis Escudero, they did not discuss the Charter Change proposed by the House of Representatives.

02:13What I told them is, if you're a member of the Congress, it's hard to be a member of the House of Representatives.

02:24Why would we pass if we already know the Charter Change? So we won't waste our time.

02:30President Bongbong Marcos will continue to express his support for the economic Charter Change.
