Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has testified at the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) regarding issues surrounding the sovereignty of Pulau Batu Puteh, Middle Rocks, and South Ledge.

00:00Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on Wednesday testified at the Royal Commission
00:08of Inquiry regarding issues surrounding the sovereignty of Pulau Batu Puteh, Middle Rocks
00:13and South Ledge. Dr Mahathir arrived at the Prime Minister's Department for the inquiry
00:19at 10.46 a.m. and he left about two hours later. He said the proceedings of the inquiry
00:26were closed door and he would hold a press conference in the afternoon. Earlier, the
00:37Kuala Lumpur High Court dismissed Dr Mahathir's application for a judicial review seeking
00:42open proceedings on the handling of the sovereignty issues. The court also rejected the former
00:48Prime Minister's application to prohibit Tun Mahdraus Sharif from acting as the inquiry
00:53chairman and two others as the inquiry members. The court also denied the application to postpone
00:59the proceedings until the final resolution of the judicial review application.
