Former President Donald Trump claimed credit for lowering insulin prices under President Joe Biden's administration, even though Biden implemented policies like capping insulin costs for Medicare recipients. Trump established a policy to cap insulin costs at $35 per month in his last year in office, which Biden later paused for further review. Later Biden's Inflation Reduction Act implemented a similar cap at $35 per month for Medicare users starting in 2023. Trump spent his presidency unsuccessfully trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act without offering an alternative plan. A CNBC survey in December shows Biden leading Trump by 19 points on health care issues.
