00:00 So folks, I love to see this.
00:02 Simi and Barrow, I know obviously a lot has been said
00:05 about his situation since last Thursday into Friday.
00:10 Barrow put this message out there this afternoon,
00:13 Thursday afternoon on social media.
00:15 I saw it on his Instagram, saw it on his Twitter account.
00:18 He said, "There's been a lot of assumptions and rumors
00:21 about my stance with Miami.
00:23 I am a Miami hurricane and concentrating on working hard
00:27 in this team.
00:28 Let's get it."
00:29 And then, Kane's football is tagged in the tweet.
00:32 So folks, we're moving forward.
00:35 Simi and Barrow is a Miami hurricane.
00:37 And again, when, you know, I know that there were,
00:39 there's a lot of drama and rumors.
00:41 Is he trying to leave?
00:43 Is Missouri trying to recruit him?
00:45 What's going on?
00:46 Simi and Barrow has been back in Miami this week.
00:49 He has been working out and, you know, going back to,
00:53 to last week, you know,
00:54 before all this stuff started to unfold,
00:58 Barrow is someone who had been described to us
01:01 as someone who's really, had really been standing out
01:04 for his professionalism in workouts.
01:06 And this is a player who is coming in
01:08 at a very important position on the field.
01:11 You know, Miami needed potency and depth at defensive tackle
01:15 and Simi and Barrow very accomplished
01:17 with what he did at Michigan State.
01:19 Honorable mention, all Big 10.
01:22 This was a very consistent on the field performer
01:24 for the Spartans the last couple of years.
01:26 But again, a position Miami really needed to pack a punch.
01:30 And, you know, this is someone who is definitely
01:33 going to be right in there to either be a starter
01:36 or compete to be a starter on what should be
01:38 a really good Miami Hurricanes defensive line this year.
01:41 Because I, you know, obviously this is,
01:43 this is a very rough projection on my part
01:45 because, you know, we're not really going to know
01:47 till we see how things unfold in fall camp.
01:49 But I could definitely envision CJ Clark,
01:52 who transferred from NC State,
01:54 a ton of ACC experience, very good player.
01:56 And Barrow with his Big 10 experience,
01:59 former starter the last two years at Michigan State.
02:02 I think they're going to be the two starters
02:03 at defensive tackle for Miami.
02:06 You obviously do have some depth there.
02:08 Marley Cook, Anthony Campbell,
02:11 you've got some really young guys
02:13 who are looking to step up this year.
02:14 Justin Scott and Artavius Jones are on campus now
02:17 and Armando Blunt.
02:18 So I see exciting things happening in the present
02:21 and future of Miami's defensive line.
02:24 It's great to know that Barrow came out,
02:27 put the speculation to bed.
02:29 He is a Miami Hurricane.
02:30 He's out there working hard.
02:32 And I'm just glad we can all put this behind us now
02:35 and we can focus on what this man can accomplish
02:38 in one season at Miami.
02:39 He's got one season left.
02:41 Let's go out there, try to achieve our team goals.
02:44 And hopefully he can accomplish some individual goals
02:47 out there as well.
02:48 'Cause this is obviously a player who would like
02:50 to be drafted into the NFL next year.
02:51 But the team goals of course come first
02:54 and let's go out there and get it.
02:55 I was very relieved to see that he is locked in
02:58 with the Miami Hurricanes.
