00:00Good morning, I'm digital reporter Claire Lark and these are the latest headlines from across
00:04our northwest newsrooms. It has been confirmed that Blackpool branch of a well-known bar chain
00:09will be closing this year. Revolution Bars has announced that its premises on Market Street
00:14will be closing its doors permanently in August. It is one of 12 branches that are closing across
00:20the UK as the chain scrambles to cut costs. Dozens of bungalows and a purpose-built care home
00:27could be on the way to a Preston village. Developer Applethwaite Ltd has submitted
00:32plans for a new estate off Preston Road in Grimser. If approved by Preston City Council,
00:38the scheme will see 48 bungalows of varying sizes spring up on the plot
00:42which lies just north of Grimser St Michael's Primary School.
00:48A Wigan man who shares the same name as his brother looks set to follow him to prison
00:52after committing his own crime spree. Jordan Mark O'Reilly, 28, of Crowell Avenue, Platbridge,
00:59appeared before Wigan and Leed justices to admit to a catalogue of offences including carjacking,
01:05dangerous driving, at which he sped through a 30mph area at 80 during a police car chase,
01:12bank fraud, theft and criminal damage. He will learn his fate from a Crown Court judge in seven
01:17weeks' time and a custodial sentence seems very likely. If so, he will join his 21-year-old
01:24brother Jordan O'Reilly, also of Crowell Avenue, Platbridge, who was sent to prison in February
01:29for a series of offences revolving around a police car chase in Hindley.
01:35A Lancaster D-Day veteran has featured on the cover of a very special 80th anniversary edition
01:41of the Radio Times. Richard Brock, who turned 100 on May 30, was a driver IC in the 1st Battalion
01:48East Lancashire Regiment and is one of four veterans to feature on the cover of the Radio
01:53Times this week to commemorate the D-Day landings of June 6, 1944 and the start of the campaign to
02:00liberate mainland Europe. Rumours are swirling like a glitter ball that Burnley and Pendle
02:07banker and businessman Dave Fishwick is to appear on BBC hit show Strictly Come Dancing.
02:13While Dave himself is staying tight-lipped on the news, various national media outlets have
02:19reported that Dave will put his best feet forward on the next series of the popular
02:23dancing contest in September. We will have to wait and see.
