00:06The daughter of a Royal Navy veteran has launched an appeal to help her dad find a medal he
00:10lost in Preston. Peter Foster lost his veteran's badge during the D-Day procession in the city
00:16on Saturday. His daughter Claire Oliver has now launched a Facebook appeal in the hope
00:22of retrieving it. Fed-up taxi drivers in Blackpool have staged a protest over out-of-town Uber
00:28drivers moving in. Drivers from established taxi firms including Seacabs, Premier Cabs
00:34and Blacktax joined the protest on Wednesday by blocking off part of Talbot Road in Blackpool.
00:41The protest, which lasted for around one hour until lunchtime, was accompanied by a large
00:45police presence and officers were able to divert traffic around the obstruction.
00:51Two new businesses have opened in Lancaster. The little parlour selling ice cream is in
00:56the grounds of Lancaster Castle, located next to the tour office with seating and
01:00plenty of shade. It sells cones, tubs, sundaes and uses English Lex ice cream.
01:08Humble Abode at 11 Chapel Street has also opened and it's an independent shop selling
01:13streetwear, apparel and accessories, bringing with it unique products from independent brands
01:19across Europe. Police have shared images of a man they want to speak to about a sheep
01:25worrying incident in Wigan. They say a witness was able to film a video of the owner of
01:30the dog involved in an incident on Parbold Hill on Friday evening. They are now appealing
01:37for help to find the man as well as a teenage boy who was with him.
01:41A former Burnley Social Club that closed its doors in January after six decades is set
01:48to reopen. Burnley Estates Ltd plan to relaunch the former 1-1-10 club as an events and party
01:54venue work is currently underway to refurbish the three-storey premises.
01:59And the weather. A bright start today with sunshine in places with rain arriving in the
02:05afternoon with a maximum temperature of 16 degrees. Going into this evening it will be
02:10heavier and more persistent rain with a minimum temperature of 8 degrees. Have a lovely day!
