00:05Preston Crown Court heard Rhys Fowler fail to see the traffic lights as he drove at up to 77mph along the A59.
00:12Martin Smith, 57, was pulling out of a junction when Fowler ploughed into his Ford Focus.
00:18He died at the scene shortly after.
00:20Fowler, now with no fixed address, appeared at Preston Crown Court and was sentenced after pleading guilty to causing death by dangerous driving.
00:28He was jailed for five years and was disqualified from driving for seven years and six months.
