00:00Feinbaum. Now, Paul Feinbaum, SEC Network pundit, he's, I think he's hated by a lot of fan bases out
00:07there. Miami fans have no love for Feinbaum and, you know, he's taken potshots at Miami
00:13University, the football program. He's taken potshots over the years, but I think the one
00:16that really gets Miami fans upset, if you remember this one, going back probably about four years,
00:21it was during the Manny Diaz era, Feinbaum, he referred to Miami as a third world program.
00:29That rubbed a lot of Miami fans the wrong way. Now, I think it is worth noting over the past
00:35couple of years, Feinbaum has said some nicer things about Miami because I think he does have
00:41a lot of respect for Mario Cristobal. Feinbaum is a huge Nick Saban fan. I think he and Saban
00:48are personal friends. And so the fact that Cristobal comes from the Nick Saban coaching
00:52tree, I think there's a certain amount of automatic respect that Feinbaum gives to Cristobal. But,
00:57you know, I was listening to this interview and I want to send kudos to Alan at Kane's Warning who
01:03brought this interview to my attention on his website. I listened to the interview this morning.
01:07Paul Feinbaum was a guest on McElroy and Kubelik in the Morning. Greg McElroy hosts that show,
01:14and he was primarily talking about how he feels Clemson and Dabo Sweeney are, you know,
01:21downward. They're on a, whether it's a slow or a quick, he believes that Dabo has fallen
01:25way too far behind with his approach to the transfer portal, doesn't take transfers. And,
01:30you know, he thinks it's kind of chipping away at that, you know, former Clemson dynasty because
01:35they had a six-year run. Clemson had a six-year run of college football playoff every single year.
01:39They won two national championships under Dabo. And when Feinbaum was talking about Clemson,
01:46Miami caught astray, but in a good way. Like, I guess you wouldn't say that's catching astray,
01:51but he said this about Clemson. He said, we know Florida State has pulled ahead of them.
01:57There are other schools that could do that as well. Miami is one, you just have to wonder,
02:02he said, if they get it right under Mario Cristobal, then that's another school that
02:06could inch ahead of them. Talking about Clemson, Miami inching ahead of Clemson.
02:10I know some Miami fans will say, well, wait, that's already happened. Miami beat them
02:15last year. Miami did beat Clemson head-to-head at Hard Rock Stadium last year. At the end of
02:19the day, though, Clemson did have a better season. They went nine and three, Miami went seven and
02:24five. The head-to-head was great because Miami had a four-game losing streak against Clemson.
02:28And some of those losses were ugly. One of those, they didn't let Al Golden back in the building
02:34after he got, what was it, 59-0, he lost to Clemson, and then he lost his job right after
02:38that. So yes, the head-to-head win against Clemson was gigantic. Obviously, you could still argue
02:44that Clemson is in a better place, potentially, than Miami. They had a better record last year.
02:49If you go by the Las Vegas odds, for what those are worth, Clemson have the second-best odds to
02:55win an ACC championship behind Florida State, and then Miami has the third-best odds behind Clemson.
03:01But Paul Feinbaum has acknowledged that may be something, that turning of the tides,
03:06Miami potentially jumping over Clemson might already be happening.
03:10I gotta tell you, heading into this coming football season,
03:15watching what happens with Clemson, it's gonna be fascinating. They lost some players to the league,
03:21they lost a couple guys outwards in the transfer portal, and Dabo does not take in
03:26any transfers. He is relying solely on incoming freshmen and obviously player development of your
03:34upperclassmen.
