Masinloc fishers appeal to lawmakers for help

The House of Representatives' Committees on National Defense and Security and Special Committee on the West Philippine Sea resume their hearing on the alleged 'gentleman's agreement' between the Duterte Administration and the Chinese Government in Masinloc, Zambales on May 24, 2024. Among those who spoke were affected fishermen, who claim that 'Kalboro,' or Scarborough Shoal/Bajo de Masinloc, was their fishing ground until Chinese and Vietnamese vessels arrived in the area. Noli delos Santos, a fisherman, said that ayuda or aid was not enough for them to survive and urged lawmakers to help them bring back their fishing ground.
