00:00Yes guys how's it going it's Henry Bryant with the Chichester Observer and you know what time it is
00:05we're back again and today we're at Namaste Punjab one of Chichester's newest curry houses
00:11trying out what they've got to offer. We've also got Connor Gormley and Sam Orton here with me to
00:16try everything and get their opinions as well so we'll get straight into it. Right we've already
00:22had the starters but we've had the peanut chaat, we had the onion bhajis, we had the chicken pakora
00:28and we also had the calamari and overall the onion bhaji in particular had a really nice spiced
00:34flavour to it and also just in terms of the frying in general you could tell that everything in terms
00:39of the coating was really fresh and really nice just to get yourself into and the texture of it
00:45was really good as well and you can't really complain there's a nice sauce as well that goes
00:50with a few of the dishes and that's namely with the chicken pakora is a really nice herbal flavour.
00:56So the thing that really stood out to me was the calamari the spice sort of sneaks up on you a bit
01:00you have like the first bite in like it's not too bad okay it's manageable and it just sort of
01:04creeps up on you as you eat more and more but it's you can't overstate how nice it is. So first of all
01:09I tried some of the onion bhaji and it was absolutely delicious one of the best onion
01:12bhajis I've had and it came with a nice bit of salad and also a minty herby sauce which was
01:17really nice and went well so after that I tried some of the chicken pakora again absolutely
01:21delicious and really cooked perfectly and breaded really nicely as well and these were mine and the
01:27boys closing thoughts about the restaurant. It's definitely one of the best Indian meals I've had
01:31I went for the lamb curry which was delicious and then the lamb really did melt in the mouth as you
01:36ate it and it was just so easy to eat I think sometimes curries can be quite heavy and leave
01:40you feeling a bit bloated but this one not at all and it was a delicious meal and it finished off
01:45with a samosa chocolate and it was one I've never had before and it was very much like a
01:51churro and again not too heavy really delight really light and delicious and I'll definitely
01:56be back for another meal soon. It was fantastic it was really good I mean aside from the food
02:01which you've already sort of discussed it was just a really lovely atmosphere you know it was the
02:05it was the music in the background it was the the little touches the little instruments the decor
02:10that the sort of really brought it all together and made it feel really authentic and the the
02:14staff couldn't do enough for you they they had nothing but nice things to say and nothing but
02:18they're just incredibly welcoming you felt very looked after there and I think that makes all the
02:22difference. It was really nice traditional food and speaking to the owner of the restaurant that's
02:27also got a location in Bogna he was just saying how nice it is to have that authentic Indian
02:33cuisine here having something clean that when you go away it's not just filling you up and making
02:39you feel really bloated and sort of like oh this is a bit too much it's something that is light
02:45but also giving you that full fill of Indian cuisine that you come here for.
02:50I've been Henry Bryant for the Chichester Observer and we'll see you in the next one.
