00:00 With many different restaurants in Newcastle offering different kinds of curry we are taking a look at just a few.
00:08 Our first stop is to My Deli.
00:10 We've never had a restaurant in the city centre, it was a bit daunting at first but we said no this concept is going to fit really well.
00:18 We had the ideas, Brimham had lots of ideas and the food and we said we've got something very very unique here and we wanted to bring this to the patrons of Newcastle
00:29 and that's where it started to bring, we wanted to transport diners to Delhi with not just the food but the overall experience as well.
00:38 And that is exactly what the restaurant does with authentic food and flavour My Deli offers a huge range for those who love Indian cuisine.
00:46 On their menu they offer butter chicken which is always a favourite for diners and they also have so many other curry options including the railway station lamb curry,
00:54 cozy curry and a south Indian fish curry and of course they have the extra bits to go with it.
01:01 Our next stop on our curry guide is to Dabba Wals.
01:04 This restaurant is a bit of a hidden gem but it serves some great food.
01:09 So we have this amazing Malabar king prawns which is a king prawns cooked in a very vibrant fragrant Muehli sauce which is a coconut base and ginger
01:20 and we also have the railway lamb curry which is you know it's our top seller, it's an amazing dish, it's a lamb shoulder cooked with the coconuts and the mustard seed sauce.
01:31 This restaurant also includes many people's favourite butter chicken but on their menu they have a huge range of curries including lamb, chicken, seafood and vegetable curry dishes.
01:42 Our next restaurant is just a short walk down near the quayside as we visit Mantra Thai.
01:48 Mantra Thai offer a huge range of Thai food and their chefs have over 30 years of experience between them.
01:54 We have visited this restaurant once before and the Thai green curry was really tasty.
01:58 On their menu they also offer a crispy chicken katsu with Mantra Thai red curry and also chicken and massaman curry so there is a few choices for you to try.
02:08 And finally we make our way just behind the quayside to Kai Kai.
02:13 We want them to have an experience as good as any other Indian restaurant in the UK and beyond and we feel that you can take this restaurant and you can stick it in Mayfair in London and it would fit in.
02:29 So we want people to have a, not just enjoy the food and enjoy the service or the experience but leave with an amazing memory.
02:39 We feel that we are achieving that for the reaction that we get and we are very fortunate because of the reputation that we have built.
02:45 On their early evening menu they have many different options for a curry including a paneer butter masala and a Kashmiri lamb Morgan Josh.
02:53 So if you are looking to have a curry during National Curry Week in Newcastle there are plenty of restaurants to explore.
