00:09 A 74-year-old man has died after a collision near Petworth, police have said.
00:13 The collision on the A272 Horsham Road happened near Foxhill at about 7.50am on Monday, April
00:19 29th.
00:20 A 74-year-old man from Rygate, Surrey was treated by paramedics but tragically was pronounced
00:26 deceased at the scene.
00:28 Police in Exelkin have been informed.
00:31 A 65-year-old man from Midhurst sustained serious injuries and was taken to St. Richard's
00:35 Hospital in Chichester where he is stable.
00:39 Police are investigating the collision which is believed to have involved four vehicles,
00:44 the drivers of both of those vehicles were not injured.
00:48 A Sussex Village pub is getting set to celebrate its relaunch under new owners.
00:53 The Plough and Attic Runs in Rustpert will be pulling out all the stops for a celebration
00:56 on Friday, May 3rd with a special buffet for customers.
01:00 But the merrymaking isn't stopping there.
01:03 There will be a range of events held over the bank holiday weekend, with live music
01:07 running alongside the village's May Day fete.
01:10 The historic 16th Century pub is situated in the village high street, just across the
01:15 road from Rustpert's St Mary Magdalene Church, so is ideally a place for christenings and
01:19 other celebrations, said the owner, adding "We're 100% a community pub, dog-friendly
01:24 and child-friendly."
01:27 And finally, a man who raped a woman in the toilet of a Brighton nightclub has been jailed
01:31 for six years.
01:32 Police said they were called by nightclub staff in Kingsrow, Brighton in the early hours
01:36 of Friday, September 24th 2021, after a woman reported to security that she had been raped.
01:44 Security staff had detained a suspect, 21-year-old Yusuf Ibrahim, of Abbotsway and Bromley and
01:50 taken the victim to a place of safety.
01:53 Officers attended and spoke to the victim, who said Ibrahim had led her to a toilet and
01:57 locked her in a toilet cubicle where he raped her.
02:01 Ibrahim, who was 18 at the time of the offences, was found guilty of all charges by a jury
02:06 at Chichester Crown Court.
02:08 He was sentenced to six years in prison and he will be on the Sex Offenders Register for
02:12 life.
