00:00 Pressure builds to reach a deal that would free some Israel hostages and bring a ceasefire
00:06 in the nearly seven-month-long war in Gaza.
00:09 Qatar, which hosts the headquarters for Hamas in Doha, has been a key intermediary and was
00:13 instrumental along with the U.S. and Egypt in helping negotiate a brief halt to the fighting
00:18 in November that led to the release of dozens of hostages.
00:21 However, in a sign of frustration, Qatar this month said that it was reassessing its mediator
00:27 role.
00:28 A rally delegation is expected in Egypt in the coming days to discuss the latest proposals
00:33 in negotiations as well as delegation from Hamas.
00:37 And they came as Israel vows to invade Gaza's southernmost city of Rafah despite global
00:42 concern for more than one million Palestinians that are sheltering there.
00:47 Many have expressed disappointment with Hamas and Israel, saying each side has made decisions
00:53 based on political interests and not with the welfare of the civilians in mind.
00:58 Israel has massed dozens of tanks and armored vehicles in the south of the country near
