01:57Maybe I'm crazy, maybe I should be
02:04Cause me without you is like winter in June
02:11So I'll teach you three new words
02:15Aku cinta kamu
02:19And if you're from my world, that just means I love you
02:26Show you the view, all that you deserve
02:30I'll be your boy and you'll be my girl
02:34Now you try, it's your turn
02:38Hope you say I love you too
02:50The whole studio were like mesmerized and charmed by your performance
02:58It was a nice, heartwarming solo concert, a private concert for us
03:03Private concert, yes, what a privilege
03:06Please sit down, thank you so much
03:08Thank you for coming to our studio
03:11Thank you guys so much, it's so cool to be here
03:14It's like I was saying, it's like a private concert, you know
03:18This is what I like about doing the morning show
03:20You got guys like you playing us these nice, beautiful songs early this morning
03:26Wow, it's my pleasure
03:28Thank you guys for having me, beautiful studio
03:30And thanks for listening to the music
03:32Yes, I listened to your music
03:34And I think you have very high conversion rate
03:38Meaning those who listen to your music, they can easily fall to be one of your fam
03:43I agree, that's a very technical term
03:47Yes, conversion rate
03:51So tell us more about the new song that you just dropped
03:55Three words
03:56Three new words, Aku Cinta Padamu
03:58Yes, Aku Cinta Kamu, the three words
04:01It's a really special song to me, I think there's two main reasons why I wrote the song
04:09The first one is because I just wanted to teach people from around the world a little bit of Indonesian culture
04:15Which is where my whole family is from
04:17Even though I've been living around the world in different places
04:21I always carried that Indonesian soul with me
04:24And I thought it was time to kind of teach that to people
04:26Thank you for carrying that
04:28Of course, of course
04:30And I guess the second reason, which is a little bit on a more personal note
04:35My fiance, she is not from Indonesia
04:40So she's actually from America
04:43And I needed to, I've been trying to teach her a little bit of Bahasa Indonesia
04:47But it's proving a challenge, you know
04:51But at least I can teach her three of the most important words
04:54Very important words, oh very romantic story behind it
04:59But you didn't release it as the original one that you produced, right?
05:04Because the label said it was cheesy
05:07What was your reaction to that?
05:11We had two versions of the song originally
05:15And the first one that I wanted to put
05:17It actually had a voice recording of me really trying to teach her
05:21So it was like, repeat after me
05:23Aku, cinta
05:25So it was not staged, it's real
05:28It was real
05:31Now that's like an alternate version
05:33We'll see, maybe it can come out one day
05:35I think if you release that one, it will hit like 30 million streams right away
05:40Maybe, maybe
05:43Coming back to what you mentioned
05:45That you are not raised here in Indonesia
05:50So tell us a bit more about your background
05:52And how did your music started
05:55And where did you study and all that
05:57Cool, yeah
05:58So I was born in LA
06:00And my family moved there from Jakarta
06:05When I was about 6 or 7 years old
06:07We moved to Singapore
06:08So we're kind of just like world citizens at this point
06:12So you're actually American
06:14Yes, yes
06:15But with an Indonesian soul
06:19Indonesian
06:20Yeah, so my parents speak to me in Bahasa Indonesia
06:23But I respond to them in English
06:25Which is a mistake, by the way
06:27Passive Bahasa Indonesia then
06:29Yeah, so I'm always very shy to speak
06:32But I can, I can live
06:34You can speak a little
07:02Ever since
07:03Okay, so I would like to know
07:05Why you decide to use Lullaby Boy as your stage name
07:09Yes
07:10Why Lullaby Boy?
07:11This is one of your songs, right?
07:13Yeah, it's because
07:15I guess the two words is Lullaby Boy
07:18And for me
07:21I feel like all of us have a kid inside our souls
07:25And we're always trying to look for answers to love and life
07:30Every single day
07:31It's like a never-ending journey
07:33So I hope that my music can be like a lullaby
07:36For that kid inside of our souls
07:39It is very calming and comforting
07:42And make you feel good when someone
07:45When the first time I listen to your music
07:48That's why I tell you, right?
07:49It's easy for people to enjoy your music
07:52And become one of your fans
07:54Yes
07:55Wow, thank you, Aileen
07:56That's so kind of you
07:57Aileen mentioned a conversion rate
07:58Because she's a financial planner
08:00So it's a very technical term
08:03Conversion rate
08:04Conversion rate, yes
08:05So what I noticed from your songs
08:07It's like a series of stories
08:10Like you were nervous
08:12Yeah
08:13And then you mentioned about someone like you
08:15How you feel grateful that you are being loved
08:17By someone who's so beautiful
08:19Yeah, wow
08:20And then you have this three words
08:22It's like a story
08:24Tell me about it
08:25And some of your fans even like
08:27Do you have the sequel to this song?
08:29Like the someone like you one, right?
08:32Is it the sequel?
08:33Three new words?
08:34Can you tell us more?
08:35Well, I guess every single one of my songs
08:38Is like sharing a page from my diary to the world
08:42And I'm just really thankful that I get to do that
08:45Because it's like
08:47It's always very personal
08:49All these songs are kind of like life stories
08:51And things that I've been through
08:54So to be able to share that with the fans
08:56And have it be received
08:58It means a lot to me, you know?
09:00And yeah, there's always sequels
09:02Everything's connected
09:04Beautiful
09:05I mean, I'm thinking
09:06Because this is the age of information
09:09Where people want to share
09:11Instead of writing diary in a book
09:13You tweet, like you post on Instagram
09:15And maybe your version is through music
09:18Like you convey your messages
09:20And your diary through music
09:22For sure, yeah
09:24It's also kind of like taking a photograph
09:27I can always listen back to my songs
09:29And be taken back to that time
09:33So when I saw your video
09:34Like creating music, making music
09:36It seems like so effortless for you
09:40Do you find any challenges
09:41In creating the melody or lyrics?
09:44Wow, effortless is
09:46That's a big word
09:48Seems like that
09:49Thank you so much
09:52Every song is kind of different
09:54Sometimes a song can be written
09:56In five minutes
09:58But sometimes it can take five months
10:00And it really, really depends
10:03On the mood of the moment
10:05And what I'm going through in my life
10:08Surprisingly, sometimes
10:10It's the more sadder songs
10:13That come out faster
10:15It's like the happy ones
10:16That actually take longer to write
10:18It's from the inside maybe
10:20I think so, man
10:21I think so, yeah
10:23From my personal experience, maybe
10:25Yes, yes, yes
10:26And I saw that you were
10:28Very, very, very kind to your fans
10:31Not only in Indonesia
10:33But as well as in Singapore
10:35And other countries
10:36Like tell me
10:37How important is your Indonesian fans?
10:40Oh, wow
10:42The fans are the most important part
10:45Of this whole music journey
10:47If it wasn't for them
10:48I don't think I would have that purpose
10:52I wouldn't have that support system
10:55And they really give me
10:58Motivation to just keep going all the time
11:01The Indonesian fans though
11:03They are on another planet
11:05You know, they're just
11:07They're so special to me
11:09And every time I come back to Indonesia
11:11And I get to perform for them
11:13It's always an amazing experience
11:16Yeah, I love them very much
11:17Right, right
11:18I saw this
11:19I mean, I'm on Spotify right now
11:21Oh, nice
11:22And I've seen that you have
11:24A total of maybe 100 million views
11:27And how do you feel about
11:28I mean, this is not a small number
11:31How do you feel about that?
11:32It's unbelievable, man
11:34Even hearing you say it right now
11:35It's quite shocking to me
11:37Because I remember when I was
11:40Just hoping to get 1,000 streams
11:44And I remember when I hit my first 1,000
11:46I was like, yeah, I was so happy
11:48And now it's like you say
11:50100 million
11:51It's unbelievable
11:52You're a star now
11:54Always gonna try to keep going more
11:56And try to grow more
11:58Yeah, so is there any future plans
12:00That you can share to us?
12:02Maybe some collaborations
12:04Or some music challenge to your fans?
12:06I saw a little kid singing your song
12:11On your Instagram
12:13Or a concert or anything
12:15In the near future
12:16Always new music coming out
12:19I have big plans to have some concerts
12:23I've never done a ticketed show
12:26In Indonesia before
12:27So I'm hoping to do that
12:29And also just performing all around the world
12:31We have some festivals coming up
12:33I haven't announced that yet
12:35But announcing it here
12:36For the first time yet
12:37Where will you play?
12:38I can't say yet
12:41But festivals are coming
12:44And I'm also working on my second album
12:49Music is life
12:51And I'm happy I get to do this
12:53Okay, is there any Indonesian musicians
12:55That you're interested in collaborating?
12:59You know, I'm a really old soul
13:02My favorite Indonesian band
13:04How old? Tell me, because I'm old
13:06You're old?
13:09I love Ungu
13:13The vocalist has become a politician
13:16I know, but he's still killing it
13:19He's amazing
13:20I just went to my first Indo festival
13:23Called Pesta Porat
13:25I love it
13:26It's amazing, right?
13:27I got a chance to experience all the culture
13:30And just get in touch with my roots
13:32And they performed
13:33And I thought they were amazing
13:35Any song from them that you remember?
13:37That you like the most?
13:38Oh yeah, so many
13:40Kekasih Gelapku
13:42That's an old one
13:44It's a 2000s song
13:47So this is my producer
13:49He's asking you
13:50Can you sing one of the Indonesian songs
13:52That you know?
13:53Maybe Ungu's song
13:55I'll just sing that one line, I guess
13:57Sure
14:06She's like smiling over there
14:10I think the whole studio
14:12Even my producers in the control
14:14Become instant fans of yours
14:17You totally sounded like
14:19I can see a collaboration going
14:21With Pak Sha Ungu
14:23Oh, that's what can happen
14:24I hope this video is viral
14:26I think you need to sing more Indonesian songs
14:28I should, yeah
14:29Yeah, I think so too
14:32Okay, so looking forward
