00:00 After a tumultuous tenure with the New York Jets, Le'Veon Bell is expected to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs, as first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.
00:10 Joining me now from Arrowhead Report is Tucker Franklin and SI's fantasy analyst Michael Fabiano.
00:16 Tucker, Bell has made it clear that he wants to win a Super Bowl and believes Kansas City is the place to do it.
00:22 That being said though, where does Bell fit into this already deep backfield?
00:26 That's a question I've been trying to answer myself. Kansas City is a great place for him to win a ring, if that's really what he wants to do.
00:33 And it looks like that's what he's trying to do here. He'd be a great depth piece for Clyde Edwards-Solaire.
00:39 He's better than Darrell Williams is right now and Darwin Thompson is at that three spot.
00:43 I'd like to see Clyde Edwards-Solaire get more involved in the passing game.
00:47 And that could be a possibility now with Le'Veon Bell in the backfield.
00:51 And maybe some two running back sets could really help Andy Reid and B'Enemi scheme up some crazy plays that we've seen them do for these two talented backs.
01:00 Alright, well, Fabs, we heard what Tucker had to say on this, but I want to get your insight.
01:05 What does this mean for fantasy managers when assessing Bell's value going forward?
01:11 Well, first off, as someone who likes Clyde Edwards-Solaire a heck of a lot and has a lot of shares of him,
01:16 I kind of need a hug right now, guys, because this one hurts. This is going to end up being a backfield committee.
01:22 Now, the rookie is probably going to lead this committee, but listen to the numbers.
01:25 Right now, he's 12th in fantasy points among running backs. He's averaging 20 touches a game. That's going to change.
01:31 He has also put up 61% of the snaps out of that backfield. That's going to decline as well.
01:38 Darrell Williams didn't put a big dent into his touches or his snaps. That is going to change with Le'Veon Bell.
01:44 So while the glide was probably a running back one and a set it and forget it for fantasy fans up until this point,
01:50 well, he's probably still going to be a weekly starter, but more of a running back two, maybe even a flex.
01:56 Also keep in mind that, yes, Le'Veon Bell did struggle with the New York Jets.
02:01 Who was his coach? Adam Gase and other players like Kenyon Drake, for example, and Ryan Tannehill,
02:07 and more recently, Robbie Anderson. When they got away from Adam Gase, they thrived.
02:12 Kansas City is a place that is very running back friendly under Andy Reid and that offense.
02:18 So does Clyde Edwards-Hillaire become unstartable? Of course not. You're still going to play him,
02:23 but his ceiling has taken a massive hit. As for Le'Veon Bell, I feel like he's going to have some flex starter value
02:29 in that offense moving forward. They could utilize him as a wide receiver. He's very talented.
02:34 Darrell Williams is now droppable in all redrafts across the board.
02:38 And then Patrick Mahomes, well, he just gets another offensive weapon, so he'll remain the top quarterback
02:44 in fantasy football. Good for Mahomes' owners, bad for owners who have Clyde Edwards-Hillaire.
02:50 Sounds like you and those owners both need a hug. So send one your way, guys. Thank you both for joining me.
02:57 Really appreciate it. Big news, Le'Veon Bell going to Kansas City Chiefs.
