00:00The Chiefs moved to 3-0 with a 34-20 win against the Ravens on Monday night football and joining
00:06me now to break it all down is our Ravens reporter Todd Karpovich and our Chiefs reporter
00:11Tucker Franklin.
00:12And Tucker, I'm going to start with you here.
00:14Andy Reid got creative with that play calling tonight, even dialed up a touchdown for the
00:18left tackle Eric Fisher.
00:20How would you describe what's going on offensively or really as a whole in Kansas City?
00:26Yeah, I think it is an interesting thing too because we kind of saw a vanilla playbook
00:30from the Chiefs the first two weeks against the Chargers and you know even against the
00:33Texans in that week one victory.
00:35I really think they were saving all these trick plays, all this bag of tricks for this
00:38Ravens team.
00:39Todd and I talked earlier in the week, it's like both of these teams have a separate playbook
00:44for this game because it's such a highly anticipated matchup.
00:46They really wanted to pull out all the stops and really have the upper advantage against
00:50this Ravens team.
00:52Absolutely.
00:53A highly anticipated matchup that was billed as the game of the season.
00:56You got to get creative on offense going against a Ravens defense that, you know, this offseason
01:00they added lineman Calais Campbell, rookie linebacker Patrick Queen.
01:04They led the NFL in fewest points allowed and most takeaways coming into this game.
01:09So Todd, you know, even though they got out to a slow start, they pulled within seven,
01:13but why were the Chiefs able to dismantle this Ravens defense?
01:18Well first of all, they had no answer from our homes.
01:20I mean, there were times where they didn't even know where the ball was.
01:23They couldn't get off the field on third down.
01:25Every time they blitzed out of the secondary, he had an answer for them.
01:28They just had, the score was 34-20, the game wasn't even that close.
01:32The Ravens were never in this game.
01:33Lamar Jackson never found the rhythm.
01:35They were averaging 10 yards per carry in the first quarter.
01:37They got away from the run and Lamar Jackson at one point was averaging 1.5 yards per pass.
01:42The Ravens were just totally out of sync.
01:45They were out-coached completely in this game.
01:47So again, it's only week three.
01:49There's plenty of football to play.
01:50It's not devastating, but this is a lesson.
01:53The Ravens got a lesson on what a championship-caliber football team looks like tonight.
01:57It's only week three and it's also early in both of these quarterbacks' careers.
02:01We've got a lot of great football we'll see from both of these teams in the coming years.
02:06Thank you both for the insight.
