00:00 Frustration was the word of the day on today's Roughing the Kicker podcast on
00:04 ArrowheadReport.com. Connor Christopherson joined to talk about the
00:08 Chiefs' frustrating performance in a 23 to 20 overtime win in Los Angeles against
00:15 the Chargers. And the biggest thing that we were frustrated about? That
00:20 linebacking core. Seeing the running backs be able to bust out of the
00:24 coverage makes us frustrated. It gives us callbacks of the Bob Sutton defenses of
00:29 a struggling linebacking core not able to cover good pass catchers that are
00:34 coming out of the backfield. Another thing that was very frustrating was the
00:37 defensive line. Not a very good game from Chris Jones. We did talk about that more
00:41 on the podcast. And the run protection was not very good from the line which in
00:45 turn was harder on the linebackers. Overall, I think we want to see more
00:50 Dorian O'Daniel. We want to see more Willie Gay. Those are two guys that are
00:54 both very athletic and can really benefit this linebacking core more than
00:59 the guys right in there could. But Steve Spagnuolo doesn't think those two guys
01:02 are ready with Lamar Jackson the next opponent for the Chiefs. We could see
01:07 D.O.D. Moore as a quarterback spy situation. I believe he saw four snaps in
01:11 the Chargers game spying Herbert in that role. And Nate Taylor of the Athletics
01:15 says that he thinks it could be October before we see Willie Gay in a real role
01:21 as he gets this defensive scheme down. So we'll see. We talk about all this and
01:26 more on today's Roughing the Kicker podcast. You can find the full episode
