00:00One thing that I always talk to players about, and this is the beauty of building
00:04relationships throughout your entire career with these guys,
00:07because one thing that you know as a former player,
00:10everybody wants to be perfect. No one wants to make a mistake.
00:14And so one thing when you're building relationships with players,
00:18as I take a tremendous amount of pride and all of our coaches do,
00:21okay, is that in those critical moments you got to remind guys,
00:25all right, don't take the message and think that it's personal.
00:32No, I'm attacking the issue. And so when they realize that, that it's
00:38about the issue and not about the person, players, they understand, you know, this
00:43is not a personal attack or I'm getting up, not at all. This is
00:48professional football. Our job is to make sure that our players
00:51are being accountable. And one thing you'll know, me and Trav
00:54have a great relationship. And the beauty of it is those
00:58things happen. Those things do not bother me. We keep it
01:01moving and we keep pushing forward because when it's all said and done with,
01:05you know, it's all about doing what is best for the organization and doing what
01:09is best for the Chiefs. So the beauty of Pat, and I want
01:12everybody to understand this, and I think sometimes professional sports
01:18have a tendency to think that it's all about the numbers
01:21and the egos. And sometimes I think people forget that we play a team game.
01:28This is what has made us special. Our guys are going to do whatever is
01:32needed to go out and win. Because when it's all said and done with,
01:35we talk about this each and every week. It's not about the numbers, okay? It's
01:39about the alphabets. And the only two alphabets that matter in
01:42this industry is the W and the L. Whatever we have to do to get that W,
01:48that's all what matters. And then you know what? We're going to
01:51come back, put a game plan together for the following week,
01:54and we're going to get it going and get ready to go.
01:57Yes, ideally we want all of our players to have
02:00all the success that they can, but we do know this.
02:03If we can do this together and do it for one another and do it the right way,
02:08okay, it'll give us a chance to have a chance to go out and pursue the goals
02:12that we want to pursue.
