00:00 And today I've got the two guys here with me to talk not about questions or takes.
00:06 We call it an audible. We pulled a Patrick Mahomes went Rolex, Rolex, and we call it an audible.
00:13 We're going to give away our mid season awards for the Kansas City Chiefs. Now, these are usually
00:18 league wide awards, but we made them Kansas City Chiefs specific because we are authorities on the
00:23 Chiefs, not the whole league. So now I've been thinking about this one. What do we want to start
00:28 with? I think we should do MVP. Yeah, why not? Okay. Well, this was my thought process on
00:36 on here. Usually MVP is like the last one awarded, isn't it? That's true. That's a good point.
00:44 I still say we can go first. We can do MVP first. Yeah, let's not. We're not like the big NFL.
00:53 We're not the big organization that looms over the entire league. We're just a small chiefs podcast.
00:59 So we do it our way. Okay. MVP. Who wants to go first? We do rock, paper, scissors.
01:04 I don't know if your Wi-Fi would allow that. Fair enough. I, I, I entered first. It should be
01:12 Jordan. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Jordan, you go first. Who's your MVP? I'm just going to kill all the
01:18 kind of worry about this. I'm going to go Patrick Mahomes for MVP. I know that's kind of a hot take.
01:24 2300 yards, 21 touchdowns, one interception. I'm not a huge QBR guy, but as QBR leads the league,
01:32 his pass rating is 115. This is probably the best season he's had. I don't think he's going to throw
01:38 for 50 touchdowns and I don't really care if he throws for 50 touchdowns, but amid some kind of
01:43 inconsistency from his offensive line, he really hasn't skipped a beat and I think is still the
01:49 best player in the NFL. Connor. Yeah. The whole team, there's not really anyone that is excelling
02:00 or playing above what you would expect. Or so it's kind of like if it has to be Mahomes,
02:07 cause he's at the least the top two quarterback in the NFL. So I also went with Mahomes. The other
02:13 ones are probably more interesting than this one because when you have one of the elite quarterbacks
02:19 in the league, they're 99% of the time going to be your team MVP. I know the actual team,
02:26 they voted Tyron Matthew last year. But if you look at the roster as a whole, you go, oh, well,
02:34 Mahomes is definitely the most valuable. Andy usually puts up the volume stats too, to back it
02:38 up. So I also went with Mahomes. I'm doing something different than you guys. Whoa. Yeah.
02:44 Did you hear that? Tucker doesn't think Mahomes is good.
02:48 I am saying, this is what I'm saying. Okay. Travis Kelsey as the MVP. I think Travis Kelsey
02:57 has been the most valuable player so far this season. Look, 610 receiving yards,
03:02 six touchdowns already more than he had last season, 48 catches. He's having an insane year
03:08 this year. He's on track to have one of his career years. He has, what's the record he's going for?
03:14 A thousand yard receiving season. Oh yeah. Five straight thousand yard receiving season.
03:20 Yeah. And then he's caught a pass in 103 straight games. He's got 7,000 career receiving yards.
03:26 Now, obviously those aren't going to seasonal MVP, but I think that right now, Travis Kelsey
03:31 has been there when the chiefs needed Travis Kelsey to pick up a first down and that Mahomes
03:35 to Kelsey connection has been pretty much automatic. Yeah. My second was definitely Kelsey.
03:40 He's been so good this year, especially in blocking. It's his best year blocking,
03:45 which is kind of odd in his age 30 year after we kind of knew who he was.
03:50 So, and also the touchdowns are there. He's getting a buttload of touchdowns, which hasn't
03:56 happened a lot for him. So I definitely thought Kelsey was second and he might win. I don't know
04:01 one of these later awards for me. I want to mention the PFF grades that Travis Kelsey has won
04:08 or not. He hasn't won them. He's gotten them great, but 90.3 highest rated offensive player
04:15 for the chiefs. Second highest tight end in all the league, 89.6 receiving grade. I didn't look
04:22 at what that was in terms of tight ends, but nine 79.5 run blocking grade. Travis Kelsey has been
04:30 playing out of his mind and to me that is MVP worthy.
