00:00So, Connor, I want to first ask you this question.
00:03I don't necessarily know if you want to answer right off the bat,
00:05but we can like wait and answer.
00:07But do you think the Chiefs are the most complete team in the NFL?
00:11NFL? No. AFC? Yes.
00:16I think the most complete team in the NFL right now is the Buccaneers.
00:21Last year, even, I was actually impressed with their defense last year.
00:24And the only reason their defense didn't shine more last year
00:27was because Jameis Winston was throwing 30 interceptions.
00:31So their defense last year was also good.
00:35Shocker, Todd Bowles is a very good coordinator
00:38and he's coached up their defense really well.
00:40From being a laughingstock, I think even just a short two years ago,
00:44they were like the last place defense
00:46and then he came in and transformed them.
00:49So he's done a great job.
00:50And Tom Brady's playing lights out.
00:52I mean, like people were talking about his decline last year.
00:56He has come back strong and with a vengeance this year
01:01and they're adding Antonio Brown.
01:02So I don't really see a lot of holes in their team.
01:07We'll see how they play from here on out.
01:10It might just be that they've caught a hot streak,
01:12but I think they are very complete.
01:14I think DVOA has them as by far the best team right now.
01:17So, but I think in the AFC, the only other contender,
01:22we saw the Chiefs beat the Ravens pretty handily.
01:24And even though they are getting,
01:27yeah, Yannick Ngokwe.
01:30I'm not particularly afraid of that, personally.
01:33I don't think, I think Ngokwe is a bit overrated.
01:37I saw a good Twitter thread from Brandon Thorne
01:39about how his sacks numbers this year
01:41are kind of from not quality sacks, from coverage sacks,
01:45but she'll get on the Ravens too.
01:46But the Chiefs just beat the Ravens defense handily
01:51with just without him.
01:53It was everybody else was there.
01:54So I don't know if he adds enough to move the needle there,
01:58but the only other team that's as complete as the Chiefs
02:01is the Steelers.
02:03And that kind of goes into what I wanted to ask you next.
02:06I think that you're about to say it anyway,
02:07but how do you think they stack up against the Steelers?
02:09Pittsburgh's interesting in that one big bin was out
02:14there a whole last year, last year, the whole year,
02:16last year, whole last year, last year with that injury.
02:20And he's come back and he's looked good.
02:23But we did see in this Titans game.
02:26He did throw three interceptions,
02:28and he would think that with their offense is pretty like,
02:32well, it's stacked kind of, and that they have,
02:34they're pretty deep at,
02:35they're really deep at wide receiver with Chase Claypool.
02:38The running back room's really solid.
02:40Their offensive line's good again,
02:42and Big Ben's just playing okay.
02:44You would think he would play better if it was old Big Ben
02:46than how he's playing right now.
02:49So I don't know if I'm necessarily afraid of him
02:52unless the only reason to be afraid of him is you're afraid
02:55of the whole offense, which is definitely a thing to worry
02:59about because holy crap, their wide receiver core,
03:01I think is one of the probably top three in the league
03:04if they're all healthy because Deontay Johnson's been
03:07struggling with injuries.
03:08But of course, so I think on that side,
03:12if the Chiefs have their full compliment at cornerback,
03:15I think the Chiefs defense actually matches up pretty well
03:17with their offense and that I think the cornerbacks can hold
03:21up. It will definitely be a challenge and Chris Jones would
03:24need to have a nice game for sure against them on the defensive
03:28side, which is where everybody talks about the Steelers
03:31because their defense has been very scary and they're definitely
03:34up to the standard that people have talked about them
03:38about. However, I don't think their secondary is as good
03:41as people think. Outside of Joe Hayden, they have a longtime
03:46Chief Stephen Nelson, who I have seen Steelers fans talk
03:51about and let's just say this year, it's not been positive
03:53things. He has regressed from his good year last year for
03:57them and he's not been playing very well. Outside of that,
04:01they really don't have much at cornerback and they can be
04:05thrown on. It's just a matter of protecting to throw because
04:08of course, they have TJ Watt and Cam Hayward. At safety,
04:13of course, they have Minka Fitzpatrick. So he's always going
04:17to be a good ball hog for them. However, they did also lose
04:20their linebacker. It's not Devin Bush. Yeah, Devin Bush.
04:26It's two Devins, Devin Bush and Devin White from the same draft
04:29class. They did lose Devin Bush to an ACL tear. So I think
04:35their defense is not as scary as people think. We saw the
04:41Titans score on them pretty well and they didn't have
04:45really much success running the ball. But when push comes
04:48to shove, the Chiefs bread and butter is throwing it. So
04:52if the Chiefs can figure out how to deal with four main
04:55rushes, at least more consistently than they are right
05:00now, I think they have a really good shot against Pittsburgh.
