00:00You are watching Medellin TV Africa, thank you for joining us for this round of news,
00:16here are the headlines.
00:17Under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, His Royal Highness Prince Eritrean Mulla
00:24El Hassan presided over in Meknes the opening ceremony of the 6th edition of the International
00:29Agriculture Fair in Morocco, event set under the theme of climate and agriculture for
00:35sustainable and resilient production systems.
00:38Details to follow in this news.
00:43Gérard Darmanin is on a business trip to Morocco, the French interior minister arrived
00:49yesterday in Rabat at the invitation of his counterpart Abdel Wafi Laftite, at the menu
00:54of the discussions on the strategic partnership of exceptions based on friendship and mutual
00:58respect.
00:59Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is in Baghdad for his first state visit in more
01:07than a decade, on the exchange program, the signing of twenty agreements and thorny discussions
01:15on regional security.
01:17We meet again right away for the development.
01:22Welcome ladies and gentlemen, His Royal Highness Prince Eritrean Mulla El Hassan presided
01:28today in Meknes the opening ceremony of the 6th edition of the International Agriculture
01:34Fair in Morocco, organized under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, from 22 to
01:4129 August.
01:42We will continue the next one under the theme of climate and agriculture for sustainable
01:46and resilient production systems.
01:47At the beginning of the opening ceremony of this 16th edition, in the year of honour
01:52and the Kingdom of Spain, His Royal Highness Prince Eritrean Mulla El Hassan submitted
01:58three certificates of recognition, distinctive signs of origin and quality to the President
02:06of the Group of Producers of Land Products, labelled during the 2023-2024 campaign.
02:13His Royal Highness subsequently posed for a souvenir photo with the three farmers.
02:22Special envoy from Medellin TV to Siam, Oumar Masbila, gives us the point on this 16th edition
02:28of the International Agriculture Fair in Morocco.
02:32Today is the official opening of the International Agriculture Fair in Meknes, an annual event
02:38long-awaited by several players in the sector.
02:41But before talking to you about the theme of this year, I would first like to talk about
02:45the guest of honour of this 16th edition, Spain.
02:48A country with one of the most important agriculture in Western Europe.
02:53The choice of Spain, which undoubtedly reflects the excellence of ancestral relations between
02:59Madrid and Rabat, the level and quality of cooperation between the two countries,
03:04and of course the participation of Spain, which will offer visitors and participants
03:09the opportunity to discover and explore the richness and diversity of Spanish agriculture.
03:15It will certainly open the way to the development of commercial partnerships,
03:20to the promotion of investment between the two countries, but not just these two countries,
03:24because it is indeed about 70 participating countries.
03:29In terms of the theme of this year, or rather the themes that will be highlighted
03:33during this edition, CIAM focuses mainly on the efforts to adapt
03:38and mitigate the effects of climate change for a better resilience of the agricultural sector,
03:44especially in a global context marked, as you know very well, by climate change
03:50which affects the availability, which affects agricultural production,
03:56the availability of water resources and therefore food security.
04:00A subject that is still relevant, especially with the war that persists
04:04and which still persists between Russia and Ukraine.
04:07These two countries provide to themselves a little less than 15% of the world's production of cereals,
04:12wheat, corn and others.
04:14These are essential components of the index of basic food prices,
04:19calculated by the FAO.
04:21These topics will be addressed during conferences held throughout CIAM.
04:26This means that until April 28, these conferences will mobilize experts,
04:31national and international scientists of renown
04:35to talk about key themes such as agricultural innovation,
04:40sustainability, water management, climate change, but also new technologies.
04:46The participation of Spain as a guest of honor
04:50of the 6th edition of the International Salon of Agriculture in Morocco
04:54translates the excellence of the relations of friendship and cooperation
04:58between Rabat and Madrid,
05:00as affirmed by the Spanish Minister of Agriculture, Fishing and Food,
05:05Luis Planas, whom I propose to listen to.
05:08We have common challenges,
05:10on one side and on the other side of the strait,
05:12in the north of Africa and in the south of the European Union.
05:16Indeed, climate change means two things.
05:20We must fight against climate change,
05:23avoid this radical change,
05:25which logically has consequences, I would say,
05:28unfortunate for food production.
05:31But still, we must adapt and remain optimistic.
05:34And we can do it.
05:35We can do it in the use of water and in agricultural production.
05:39And we can do it with the new genetic editing techniques.
05:42These are subjects that are very, very important
05:47and on which we will work and discuss tomorrow.
05:50And I hope that it will still be a common challenge
05:53that we will be able to deal with in a cooperative and joint way
05:58between Spain and Morocco,
06:00between the European Union and Morocco.
06:03Gérald Darmanin is on a business trip to Morocco.
06:06The French interior minister arrived yesterday in Rabat
06:09at the invitation of his counterpart, Abdel Wafi Laftit.
06:12Their face-to-face meeting was followed by an extensive work meeting.
06:18The two counterparts reviewed the issues of common interest
06:22and examined ways to further strengthen cooperation
06:25to meet the expectations of His Majesty the King and French President Emmanuel Macron.
06:32This meeting was therefore held in favor of an exceptional strategic partnership
06:37based on friendship and respect for mutual interests.
06:41My trip is part of the current dynamic
06:44that you observe in all areas
06:46of the relaunch of bilateral relations between Morocco and France.
06:50Several of my colleagues in the government have gone to Morocco
06:53over the past three months, and others will come in the coming weeks.
06:57Our ambition in each of our sectors
07:00is to write an ambitious bilateral roadmap
07:03to highlight the objective of our two heads of state,
07:07which is a profound renewal
07:09and a resolute modernization of the Franco-Moroccan relationship.
07:14To truly renew a relationship of intimacy,
07:17strategic intimacy and friendship,
07:20since this is our objective,
07:22it is not possible to settle for old habits and old methods.
07:26The world has changed, Morocco has changed,
07:29France has changed, so we need a new software.
07:33In his speech, Gérald Darmanin also thanked Morocco
07:37for the help it has provided in the major sporting events
07:40organized by France,
07:42and in particular for the Olympic Games in Paris next July.
07:45I invite you to listen to him.
07:47I would also like to thank Morocco,
07:50which will be able to help us very strongly
07:53in the organization of the major sporting events
07:56such as the Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer,
07:59the Africa Nations Cup in Morocco in 2025,
08:02and our two countries have already demonstrated their expertise
08:05for the Qatar World Cup.
08:07We worked together,
08:09we both helped our Qatari friends to secure the event.
08:13Likewise, we can count on each other
08:16for these major sporting events,
08:19which are being announced, and in terms of reciprocal information, of course.
08:23To come back to this visit of Gérald Darmanin in Morocco,
08:27we are with Moustapha Tossa,
08:29a Paris-based editorial journalist.
08:32Good evening and thank you for responding to our invitation.
08:35Good evening.
08:37So, Mr. Tossa, what are the challenges
08:40of the visit of the French Minister of the Interior to Morocco,
08:44and what can you tell us about the exceptional strategic partnership
08:48between the two countries?
08:50Yes, it is true that this is the third major visit
08:54since the relaunch of the France-Morocco relationship.
08:57There was Stéphane Séjourné, Minister of Foreign Affairs,
09:00Frank Riester, Minister of Foreign Affairs,
09:03and today Gérald Darmanin, Minister of the Interior and Culture,
09:07and Marc Fesneau, Minister of Agriculture.
09:10And the Minister himself said that his visit to Morocco
09:13is part of a relaunch of the bilateral relationship,
09:18a French and Moroccan will to give back
09:21to the strategic partnership the chandelier it deserves,
09:25to somehow overcome all the divergences
09:28that at one point caused a glacial cold
09:31between the two capitals.
09:33And Gérald Darmanin even dared this concept
09:36that many people, many observers will discuss.
09:40It is about creating a form of strategic intimacy
09:43between the two countries.
09:45Obviously, the security sector dominates
09:48since the Minister of the Interior,
09:50and therefore the boss of the services,
09:52is the first French police officer,
09:54as we present him today.
09:56And there is a major security issue.
09:58France is learning to organize spectacular Olympic Games
10:01and France needs its friends and allies
10:04to help it guarantee the security of its sports events.
10:09And Morocco has shown that it has the expertise,
10:12the knowledge of the field,
10:14to be able to help France in this area.
10:17So Gérald Darmanin came to realize
10:20this Moroccan aid to these Olympic Games.
10:24Precisely, without our Moroccan friends
10:27and the excellence of the Moroccan judicial police,
10:30France would be more in danger than it is,
10:33said Gérald Darmanin.
10:35So what are the prospects
10:37of this security and migratory cooperation very quickly?
10:40In fact, even at the worst of the political crisis
10:44between France and Morocco,
10:46the security collaboration
10:48between the Moroccan services
10:50and the French services has never ceased.
10:52Morocco has always been in aid.
10:55It comes to aid its countries
10:57to help them fight terrorism
10:59since it has made the fight against terrorism
11:02an extremely vital and extremely important political doctrine.
11:06So Minister Gérald Darmanin
11:08came to consecrate this cooperation
11:10and also to talk about the migratory crisis
11:13to be able to help the Moroccans
11:15and the French together to manage this issue.
11:18And then there is also another element
11:20which is very important,
11:22it is the Islam of France.
11:24We know that France relies a lot
11:26on the Ahmed 6 Institute
11:28for the formation of Imams
11:30and Morshidat in Rabat
11:32to be able to give and support
11:34the framing of the Imams of France
11:36and to be able to help France
11:38to fight against radicalisation.
11:40And also, Paris thanks Rabat
11:42for its help in terms of security
11:44and organisational management
11:46of the major sporting events.
11:48A word on the organisation
11:50of the next IMOs?
11:52Yes, there is an extremely important fear.
11:56There is a security anxiety
11:58that currently reigns over these games
12:00on France.
12:02We recently had the attack
12:04of the Islamic State in Khorasan
12:06which is a big threat
12:08on these games.
12:10So, to avoid
12:12and prevent
12:14these threats
12:16and to protect
12:18and guarantee the security
12:20of these games,
12:22France needs its friends
12:24and allies,
12:26especially the most effective
12:28and the most committed
12:30in this fight against terrorism
12:32in this domain
12:34who have received the compliments
12:36of the French Minister of Armenia
12:38and the recognition
12:40of the French authorities
12:42who have called on him
12:44to help him organise
12:46and secure these famous Olympic Games
12:48next summer in Paris.
12:50Mustafa Tosa, thank you.
12:52I remind you that you are an editorial journalist
12:54and you answer our questions from Paris.
12:56The international news
12:58is also the shooting of rockets
13:00yesterday evening
13:02from the north of Iraq
13:04towards a base of the international coalition
13:06in Syria.
13:08According to the Syrian Observatory
13:10for Human Rights,
13:12it is the base of the American forces
13:14of Kharab al-Jir
13:16that was hit.
13:18This is the first large-scale attack
13:20against troops of the coalition
13:22led by Washington
13:24after several weeks of calm.
13:26Earlier, a drone belonging
13:28to President Erdogan
13:30was shot down.
13:32Still in the diplomatic framework,
13:34it had been more than 10 years
13:36since he had gone to Iraq.
13:38President Erdogan
13:40arrived in Baghdad
13:42and met his Iraqi counterpart
13:44Abdel Latif Rashid.
13:46As of today,
13:48the files on oil,
13:50regional security
13:52and the sharing of waters
13:54of President Erdogan's last trip
13:56to 2011.
14:01In Israel,
14:03this Monday,
14:05the head of Israeli military intelligence
14:07resigned
14:09after assuming his responsibility
14:11in the bloody attack
14:13of Hamas
14:15at the beginning of the war
14:17in the Gaza Strip.
14:19The first political or military
14:21personality to resign
14:23since the attack
14:25will assume his responsibility
14:27in the failure
14:29to prevent this incursion.
14:31As a reminder,
14:33the attack of October 7
14:35led to the death of 1,170 people,
14:37mainly civilians,
14:39according to Israeli official data.
14:41Back in the Kingdom of Poland,
14:43in Fez,
14:45where the festival of Sufi culture
14:47is in full swing.
14:49Concerts are held,
14:51scientific seminars,
14:54history, philosophy, art
14:56and spirituality.
14:58So many themes
15:00that feed the round tables
15:02of these festivals.
15:04Here is Sami Ali,
15:06an Egyptian professor
15:08who tells us about
15:10his close ties
15:12with the Kingdom of Morocco.
15:14I'm going to meet him
15:16at Maficry for the story.
15:18At the scientific capital of the Kingdom,
15:20the festival of Sufi culture
15:22is held
15:24in the Medina of Fez
15:26with historians,
15:28philosophers and writers
15:30from all over the world.
15:32Today, the works
15:34of Professor Sami Ali,
15:36who is of Egyptian origin
15:38but who had a very important
15:40emotional fiber for Morocco.
15:42I always thought
15:44he was a Moroccan Egyptian,
15:46especially since
15:48his last books
15:50were published in Morocco.
15:52This is Transversal,
15:54which is his testament
15:56both from the point of view
15:58of psychosomatics,
16:00since he was a professor
16:02at Paris 7 University
16:04and he had created
16:06with me the International Center
16:08for Relational Psychosomatics.
16:10So Transversal,
16:12which was published in Morocco,
16:14is a bit of his scientific
16:16and literary testament.
16:18The festival of Sufi culture
16:20gives rise to important
16:22cultural partnerships.
16:30This festival allows
16:32cultural exchanges
16:34and meetings between nations.
16:36The University of Fez
16:38is delighted to be part
16:40of a partnership
16:42with the psychosomatic center
16:44Sami Ali.
16:46The Moroccan experts
16:48and researchers
16:50will have the opportunity
16:52to be in contact
16:54with their colleagues
16:56in France
16:58to carry out
17:00common research projects
17:02in parallel
17:04with seminars and masterclasses.
17:06The Bab al-Makina space
17:08continues to welcome
17:10visitors to the festival
17:12through Sufi Moroccan
17:14culture.
17:16Since its 38th edition,
17:18the International Forum
17:20of the Book of Tunis
17:22continues to reinforce
17:24its international vocation
17:26and its openness
17:28to the cultures of the world.
17:30Morocco has a distinguished
17:32participation in this event.
17:34Najwa Bechat for the details.
17:36The Palace of Exhibitions
17:38has opened its doors.
17:40An opening marked
17:42by the Moroccan pavilion
17:44offers a special program
17:46on culture, identity
17:48and heritage with several
17:50Moroccan authors.
17:52The pavilion includes
17:54more than a thousand titles.
17:56In the Moroccan pavilion
17:58there are many new titles
18:00that speak of Arab and Islamic countries
18:02in general and constitute
18:04a great opportunity
18:06to discover the culture
18:08of Moroccan society.
18:10It is also an opportunity
18:12for children to discover
18:14the cultural novelties,
18:16especially since smartphones
18:18have distanced our children
18:20from reading and reading books.
18:26Only the House of Casablanca
18:28and the Emam of Rabat
18:30participate in it
18:32because of the exhibitions
18:34taking place in Erbil, Abu Dhabi
18:36and Tunisia.
18:38In our Moroccan pavilion
18:40more than 2,000 new titles
18:42are exhibited.
18:44Go beyond what you see
18:46with your book in your hand.
18:48The slogan of this new edition
18:50is an extract of a poem
18:52in Arabic by the famous Tunisian poet
18:54Femouhamed El-Rosy
18:56to which a tribute is paid.
18:58The exhibition has gathered
19:00a large number of visitors
19:02and readers.
19:04Despite the diversity of the works,
19:06the Tunisian is faced
19:08with a financial dilemma.
19:12I want to visit the fair
19:14every year to buy books.
19:16It seems that the exhibition
19:18this year is poor
19:20in terms of novelties
19:22but the prices are very high
19:24and this can be explained
19:26by the rise of prices in the world.
19:30Despite the deterioration
19:32of the economic situation in Tunisia,
19:34the exhibition of Tunisian books
19:36keeps its place in Tunisian culture
19:38and the International Fair
19:40of the Book of Tunis
19:42will continue to affirm
19:44its international vocation
19:46and its openness
19:48to the cultures of the world
19:50by expanding participation
19:52to a larger number of countries
19:54and by welcoming
19:56new quality publishers.
19:58It is true that the book fair
20:00encourages Tunisians
20:02to buy what they need
20:04to read.
20:06From Tunis, Najwa Bechat
20:08for Mediha.
20:10In sport, after the cancellation
20:12of yesterday's match
20:14of the semi-finals
20:16between the Berkane and Lusma
20:18of Algiers,
20:20as part of the African
20:22Football Confederation Cup,
20:24the CAF announced
20:26in a statement that the case
20:28will be brought to the competent
20:30court.
20:32I invite you to listen to
20:34Karim Dronet, sports journalist
20:36from Casablanca.
20:38The scenarios are multiple.
20:40In any case, what I can say
20:42is that Algeria is really
20:44at the forefront
20:46in this case.
20:48What the CAF could decide
20:50is to play the match again
20:52on the condition that it is
20:54relocated.
20:56If this match is not played,
20:58it is a matter of
21:00the decision of the
21:02FA.
21:04I invite you to listen
21:06to Karim Dronet, sports journalist
21:08from Casablanca.
21:10The scenarios are multiple.
21:12In any case, what I can say
21:14is that Algeria is really
21:16at the forefront
21:18in this case.
21:20What the CAF could decide
21:22is to play the match again
21:24on the condition that it is
21:26relocated.
21:28If this match is not played,
21:30it is Algeria that will be sanctioned
21:32and not Berkan,
21:34since Algeria did not respect
21:36the CAF's previous decisions,
21:38especially the first,
21:40which said that the jersey
21:42of Berkan's team was completely
21:44in line with the decision
21:46and was approved by the CAF.
21:48The CAF also confirmed its decision
21:50in its appeal.
21:52In any case, the match would have
21:54been lost
21:563-0
21:58against the Algerian team
22:00of USM-Algeria.
22:02This is the end of this news.
22:04Thank you for watching.
22:06See you next time.
