Gaza attack: Anwar reaches out to Hamas leader to convey condolences

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has conveyed his condolences to Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh on the loss of several of his family members who were killed in an air strike by the Israeli regime on Wednesday (April 10).

Anwar on Thursday (April 11) said Malaysia condemned and criticised the continued Israeli aggression that is fuelling the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people, and again urged the international community to take stern action and hold Israel to task over this cruel act.

00:19of the attack that killed Ismail's three sons, Hazem, Amir and Mohamed, along with four of his
00:25grandchildren. You know, I call because after reading the news and I think on behalf of my
00:31family and Malaysians, well, I can't express much more to add to what have been said. But please
00:44be assured, Ismail, that we feel the pain. And although I'm trying my level best, it's still
00:55too small to what you have personally endured. But on this case about the loss of your
01:05grandchildren, your three children, and I just beg for your patience and we feel your pain and
01:17pray to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala that they will be your partners in Jannah, inshallah.
01:24He also said Malaysia condemned and criticized the continued Israeli aggression that is fueling
01:30the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people, that the Israeli attack proved that the
01:35Zionist regime did not desire a ceasefire as demanded by the United Nations Security Council,
01:41and will not comply with international law and regulations.
01:45Please be assured that we will continue to fight and defend the rights of the Palestinians
01:52in Gaza and condemn and reach all efforts possible against the cruelty and genocide
02:02committed by the Israeli Zionist forces.
02:06In a statement earlier, the foreign ministry said Malaysia harshly condemned the continued
02:11attacks by the Israeli regime targeting Palestinians, including airstrikes on the
02:16Shati refugee camp in northern Gaza, especially when Palestinians and Muslims around the world
02:21are celebrating Hari Raya Eid al-Fitr. The ministry added that Malaysia will continue
02:27to strongly oppose the violent actions and genocide orchestrated by Israel against the
02:32Palestinian people.
