Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has urged Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) industry players to contribute and create an ecosystem that supports TVET graduates and experts in the halal industry.

Ahmad Zahid said with more talents and experts in the halal sector, it will further reinforce Malaysia’s role as a global leader in the industry that is currently valued at over US$ 3 trillion in the global market.

00:00To further develop Malaysia's halal industrial landscape, the Unity Government or Mahdadi
00:15Government has established a task force, focused on enhancing halal parks across the country.
00:23This initiative ensures Malaysia remains at the forefront of the global halal economy,
00:30driving growth through world-class infrastructure and support for halal businesses.
00:38It is also crucial to include technical and vocational education and training, or TVET,
00:45in our halal industry milestone.
00:48I encourage TVET industry players, particularly in food and ingredients, to contribute to
00:56creating an ecosystem that supports TVET graduates.
01:01This includes developing skilled halal auditors with the technical expertise needed to ensure
01:09the authenticity and integrity of halal practices.
01:14Clearly, innovation is crucial for advancing and sustaining the halal economy.
01:21We must leverage technology and research to develop products and services for the future.
01:29Moreover, Malaysia is at the forefront of digital innovation in the halal sector with
01:36the National Halal Digital Platform, or known as NHDP, which will streamline and simplify
01:44the halal certification process from start to finish.
01:49It will incorporate technologies like blockchain, AI and IoT to boost transparency, traceability
01:58and efficiency in Malaysia's halal ecosystem, setting a global standard.
02:05To further develop a robust halal ecosystem, I am very excited to launch the Halal Industry
02:14Core Sector Insights Report, a key component of the halal sectoral roadmap.
02:22This report consolidates stakeholder insights and highlights advancement in Malaysia's halal
02:29economy, focusing on food, beverage and health care, and it will support informed decision
02:39making and alliance with our HIMP 2030 objective.
